Weekend Recap

It may be September, but it sure doesn’t feel like it in VB.  Yet as anxious as we are for fall & all the festiveness that comes with it, another weekend of warm weather was welcomed.  We took advantage and pretty much stayed outside.  The entire time.

You know the saying … “absence makes the heart grow fonder.”  A week back at work, and I seriously could not WAIT for an entire weekend to do nothing but be with this girl.

She is lucky I did not just eat her right up.  Instead, we opted for lunch & a girls date at the farmers market with my mom & sister.  Beautiful weather, local food, & my favorite girls made for a pretty perfect Saturday.

On Sunday, we woke up extra early to get packed & ready for a day at the beach.  It was a big first for Waverly Maye, her first official boat ride.

Our friends were sweet enough to let us tag along on their boat.  We used to have one of our own, but sold it to have enough of a down payment for our house.  Gotta do what you gotta do!  It was totally worth it & we hope to find a replacement … one day.

So although Waverly Maye should be a seasoned pro after many days on the water when she was in my belly (not much else to do when you are ten months pregnant & ready to pop), this was her first time in real life.  You know, actually wearing her asymmetrical swimsuit & matching black headband.

Of course our outdoor-loving, complete beach baby loved every minute.  The boat ride brought us straight to this little paradise, and I obviously considered selling that new house and building a tent right on this sand.

Something tells me these two would have no problem with that plan.  I tell ya, this little lady is totally her father’s daughter.

And she makes her momma melt.  How is it possible that I become more obsessed with her everyday?  I knew that I would love having a little girl, but had no idea how much.  She is just the best.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, 5 more days until we get to do it all over again! 🙂
XOXO

Oh my goodness, you make me want to move to the beach. Sometimes I miss the sand and salt water so so much. Miss W is too cute in that suit too! I could just eat her up!

So true, not sure how it's possible to become more and more obsessed with our little ones each day! Love the splash picture with her Daddy 🙂

Glad you all had a great weekend, enjoy all the summer days because I have a feeling VA will get nailed with snow this Winter! And I'm ok with that, as long as we can hit the Bahamas for a quick getaway 😉

That scoop back tee is redonk! And a day on a boat sounds amazing! We sold ours this summer, partly due to us not using it as much as we used to and partly in attempt to cut out some things we don't really "need." Whatever the reason, I do miss our days out on the lake!

Weekend Recap

After weeks of pure craziness, in between Waverly Maye’s birthday extravaganza & house renovations, my family of 3 finally had a few moments to relax.  Together
Let me tell ya, it was much-needed & long-awaited.

Little Hip Squeaks Headband

This daddy’s girl clearly agreed.  Since we closed on our house at the end of June, we have yet to stop work on the million (and one) projects that we want to accomplish.  And by we, I really mean my husband.  So Waverly & I were super excited to show him the special stop in our new neighborhood that that we discovered a couple of weeks ago.

And since everything is better with food & drinks, we packed our picnic basket (and Waverly’s new one from her birthday) to start off the weekend right.  It was so much fun, so relaxing, & the best, quality family time.  My favorite. 🙂

Both Saturday & Sunday, we attended some exciting family celebrations.  Waverly Maye is getting a cousin this October & her big cousin Sam just turned seven.  We obviously love a festive celebration, and Waverly Maye thrives on excitement, so she was more than happy to take part (and dress up for) all the fun.

We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, soaking in these last moments of sweet summertime!  Waverly & I are both excited to extend the weekend to today because it is her DADDY’S BIRTHDAY!  Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby, we love you. 🙂

PS – Both of Waverly Maye’s outfits are Gap, and both of mine are Forever 21.  Sense a theme?
