Weekend Love

Another week down, another weekend has gone by.  I’ve said if before & I will say it again, life with a child flies by at lightning speed, it really blows my mind.  I know that Waverly officially turned a toddler last July on her first birthday, but I really thought she still looked like a baby.  Then somehow in just the last two weeks or so, she has turned into a little lady.  Complete with longer locks, less baby fat & a smile full of teeth.  Someone please tell me how I gave birth to this girl only 18 months ago.

As hard as it is to believe & as much as I loved my baby Waverly, gosh I am loving this stage, too.  I mean, I totally could stare at these pictures of her all day, I am so proud of the girl she is growing into.  Plus, the fast rate she is changing really does help me defend my need for pictures of her ALL the time.
In weekend news, we spent our Saturday kicking off the Valentines festivities with a sweet little lunch just for the three of us.  I am so excited that Valentines Day falls on a Friday this year, but with both my husband & I at work for the early part of the day, it will no doubt be hard to fit everything in.  So celebrating the weekend before is always fun & an excuse for all pink & red everything, I’ll never pass that up.

It was all Xs & Os until some of the theme-colored cherry lemonade I made spilled on the table my husband spent 100 hours making.  Thank goodness it came up, but between that & having to wrangle Waverly’s favorite cup from her since it was getting all over her, too …I’m thinking next year I’ll just go with water & heart-shaped ice, probably a much safer route.
We were able to get some time in outside, our snow has finally melted & now, we are ready for spring.  Like really, really ready, complete with our shades.
H&M Shirt (In-Store)
We also managed to get some treats made for friends, family & of course, for us, too.  This Valentines snack mix all over Pinterest was so easy to make (just mix it together) & Waverly is all about pulling a chair up & helping me these days, so it really was fun.
I spent the rest of the weekend visiting my sister at college, a long overdue trip … it was SO good to see her & while I hated leaving my two Valentines, they really love each other too much & I know had some amazing daddy & daughter time while I was gone.  We hope that you had the best weekend & HAPPY VALENTINES WEEK!!  Let the love begin.
XOXO

But I'm sure the cherry limeade tasted a whole lot better than water! 🙂 Waverly Maye is looking so big these days! Our babies are growing up!

Oh my gosh! I am DYING over that first picture! I think my son is only a couple days? (Weeks?) older than Waverly and I totally agree with what you were saying. Even though they technically became toddlers last July, I feel like he still looked like a baby until recently. Time slow down!

Such a sweet post! Seems like you are enjoying every stage. I think its important for us as mothers to always remember that our children need us to have so much to look forward to in their lives and they also need us to remember the details of the journey!
Also, her shoes. Im in love. could you share where they are from? xoxo Brandie http://www.oliverannluke.com
