Waverly’s Wishes

Happiest Monday!!  It really is a happy one considering this is my last working one in 2013, after this week I get to spend the rest of my year snuggling & cuddling with my #1 babe!

Leggings & Boots

Or more likely, chasing after her. 🙂  Whatever the case, I will take it!!  Waverly Maye really has been the best little girl this year & it goes without saying that Santa will be very good to her.  Last year I loved the opportunity to play “Santa” for the very first time & can’t wait to create the most magical day for her again.  With that being said, I really did think long & hard about what would end up under our tree … girlfriend is already one (sweet &) spoiled little girl! 🙂

After reading many gift guides, toy lists & reviews, I LOVE the idea of “something you want, something you need, something to wear & something to read.”  My shopaholic tendencies could get me really carried away in the spirit of the holidays, so I felt that this would at least help keep me somewhat under control!!
Here is (most of) what Waverly Maye will find on Christmas morning this year …

ONE – TWO – THREEFOUR – FIVE – SIX
Even though we already have a chalkboard in our playroom, I am so excited to give Waverly this easel.  She already loves to color & get in touch with her creative side, which totally melts my momma heart. 🙂  And I know this is a gift that will grow with her.  Her other “want” is a new doll!  She LOVES her babies & I think she is just going to love this one.

Like she really needs anything, I am considering her “need” as this cell phone.  It’s my need really!  Waverly is OBSESSED with Iphones & totally knows the difference in the play phones we try to fake her out with.  A couple of months back, I made the total mom fail of giving her my phone to listen to her favorite song I had downloaded.  Let’s just say we have had several total meltdowns over not getting the phone back.  EACH day.  So it’s either this is the answer or I am getting my 16-month old an Iphone & cell phone plan for Christmas.  Wish me luck!! 🙂

To read, she 100% prefers touch & feel board books.  Each night she picks the same three books to read before bed, the only touch & feel ones we have. I totally have them memorized cover to cover & can’t wait to add a couple to the collection, as well as some educational puzzles too!  And finally, this child clearly needs nothing to wear but PJs are always a welcome addition to the wardrobe!

Although I’m thinking I could just bag all that & give my nature lover some acorns & leaves instead?!

As I have gotten older, I really have learned the gift of giving & that is one of my favorite parts of the holidays.  I definitely want to instill this in Waverly Maye & even though she doesn’t understand quite yet, it’s never too early to start!  So we took a trip to the dollar store & Waverly had the BEST time with free reign at the toys to pick out one for a little boy or girl!

We ended up with a puzzle (& a sparkly wand for Waverly, I tried!) & took it to the Goodwill right down the street.  🙂  It really did feel good & I can’t wait for Waverly to really understand the meaning of this trip!!

Thank you to all of you for including your own gift guides, they really have been so helpful in planning for our list this year!  We hope everyone had a memorable & fun holiday weekend!  EIGHT more days …
XOXO

I love that you are teaching her to give! That is such a sweet thing to do around the holidays. I can't wait to do that with my future babes. Hope santa gets Miss Waverly everything on her "Wish List"!

I read that idea of the four "somethings" and immediately decided to do it for Clay! The boy has everything and I ended up giving my list of ideas to family when they asked what to get him so it's perfect!

It's always so nice to be done with work to spend with the kids. It's like the half-way mark of the school year. Enjoy this special time with her. Great list!

This "somethings" idea is great…and I think we'll implement this with Elyse next year. We currently buy her one big "Santa" gift and then Hubby & I split up the budget for a few other things. But this would trim things back even more. And I love the idea that you took her to buy toys to donate already–what a great idea!

She looks so cozy all bundled up! Love that she helped you pick out gifts for those in need!
