At the risk of sounding like a crazy person for already planning a party three months away, I’m excited to share some inspiration for Waverly Maye’s third birthday today! Waverly’s big day will fall just about two months after her little sister arrives, & if prior experience tells me anything, chances are we will still be in crazytown by that point. π So I’ve been trying to get as much done now as I can, pinning ideas for decor & searching for inspiration, one of my favorite past-times!
I want to keep it small but at the same time, want Waverly to have a day that is special & all about her, especially after a couple months with big changes at our house. We are going with an “ice cream party” theme, a festive afternoon with nothing but sweets!! I know Waverly will love it, girlfriend has a major sweet tooth like mama, plus it’s such a fun theme for summer. As for colors, I recently fell in love with this aqua beverage dispenser (I have a weird obsession with serving accessories, especially beverage dispensers), so I decided to use it as inspiration, paired with a light pink & pops of gold!

We are definitely going to do an ice cream bar, with a few different flavors & tons of toppings, I love that it’s something that people of all ages can do & have fun with! We are still at the point where most of the people coming to the party will be close family & our grown-up friends, but lots of them have kids now. Plus, Waverly is getting to the point where she is more opinionated on her own “friends”, so I plan to invite a few of her little girlfriends, too! π
Of course, one of my favorite parts of planning any event is the invite, & I am super excited to be teaming up with Minted to create it this year! I absolutely adore their products, they are the perfect mix of contemporary & stylish, without being completely over the top. I’ve narrowed it down to three options, all have a place for a picture of the birthday girl & have an option to use the aqua color.

Opinions are welcome, I can’t wait to take pictures & order one in the next couple of weeks, I will be sure to share!! You can find all the kids invites for Minted here, there are so many adorable options!
And lastly, a few pictures from our weekend!! I took Waverly to one final Easter egg hunt on Saturday while my husband worked on the nursery. She wouldn’t get near the bunny (like even within eye shot), but LOVED getting her face painted & hunting for the eggs, it was the sweetest!

Hope you all had the BEST holiday weekend!
XO
What a beautiful color scheme, sounds like an amazing party already! Sweet lil W looks so cute hunting her Easter eggs. Love her outfit!
Sounds like a wise decision to get some of the planning done early since I'm sure it still will be a little crazy! I like option number one the best – minted has great stuff!! And, an ice cream bar? Yum, hard to beat that.
You are not crazy at all. My kids' bdays are in March and April and as soon as the calendar changes to january, I start the Pinterest board:) We did a Minnie's Ice cream shoppe last year at our local ice cream party and it was so fun. I might have some ideas you can use if you look at April 2014 posts! Also I remember a free printable from Pottery Barn Kids that didn't quite match our palette but might work for yours. It was for an ice cream party! Have fun planning:) Baby boy was 4 weeks old at Big sister's party last year and I was so glad I planned ahead!
Love your inspiration. Btw you are not a crazy person, you're a smart person. The time flies by so fast and planning ahead will ensure you have the time for everything you want! Unlike me who tried to fit it all in the week of. haha. Somehow I always manage to pull it together though lol. xo
I love the color scheme and ice cream party theme! We had a sundae bar at Noah's first birthday party, but not sure I could do an entire ice cream theme since his birthday is in November π
Love the sweet colors of W's birthday inspiration board and i just love Minted! They really are one of the best!!!
Love this idea, we did an ice cream bar for Avery's second birthday and it was a hit!
Love this thene; it's what we did for Liam last year! So many more girly options though! I found some icecream bubbles that were the perfect party favor.
I think it seems like the general consensus for toddlers is that the Easter bunny is evil, lol! None of them seem to go for it. LOVING the inspiration for Waverly's party and know that with you putting it all together, it will definitely be fabulous!:)
Okay, it just hit me that our girls are turning 3 this year! This is CRAZY to me! Waverly's party will be nothing short of perfection with you in charge! I'm loving your inspiration for it!
I love Waverly's face painting in these pictures! Too cute! I'm sad that Easter is already over!
The birthday party sounds like such a fun time! What little (or adult for that matter) isn't going to love an ice cream bar?! And those colors together are just perfection.
Love the inspiration board and ice cream theme! 3 months is not too early to plan! I wait too late and always wish I had started earlier.
What a fun birthday party theme!! That is a great idea and I absolutely LOVE that color palette. The gold dot invite is super cute too. Can't wait to see it all come together!
I love Minted! and those mini ice-cream cones and spoons are adorable, You're not crazy at all for planning early. I have a day picked for my sons in July but have no idea for a theme yet…

You are NOT crazy…I've been thinking about Cam's 3rd birthday party since last year!!! π I LOVE the colors – they are the colors of Louise's nursery, so I'm a little biased. π I can't wait to see it all come together, and I have no doubt you will rock it, even with a newborn!!! xoxo
PS I have SUCH an obsession with entertaining pieces…we never run out of beverage dispensers, platters or mini bowls. π
Party planning is the BEST! and ice cream? we're so coming π
Definitely wise to get some planning done in advance!
Cute party plan! We are doing a family party this year for A so super small, but probably doing something similar, cupcake decorating something fun and tasty too!
I love the Ice Cream party theme and the colors are just gorgeous! I canβt wait to see it all come together.
Definitely not crazy at all since I had Charli's 3rd birthday planned out a few days after she turned two! BAHAHA!! We are so much alike! haha! I am WAY too much of a planner and with being a military family and moving I knew we would be in transition mode and between moves this Summer when their birthdays rolled around, so I also had Crew's first birthday also planned right after he was born! HAHA!! I love the idea and theme though! SUPER CUTE!!
Her party is going to be so cute! I love that you are already planning it! Those invitations are all so sweet [my favorite is probably the top one] I can't wait to see which one you choose! It sounds like you all were able to enjoy a lovely little weekend!
Holy moly girlfriend! Slow the train down. Because if you are planning Waverly's 3rd birthday, that means Mason will be turning 3 also (just a few days before her!) and I don't want to think about that yet lol. I'm not ready! BUT if we have to talk 3rd birthdays, from the looks of this, Waverly is going to have the cutest party!!!
Such a fun party theme! I would love to have an ice cream party for my birthday, too! π I'm partial to the second invite, since it ties in with the pops of gold that you will have throughout the party! No matter what you decide, it will turn out great!
A woman after my own heart, I love planning a party and as soon as I have a reason to then I begin planning immediately! Those invitations are adorable! I can't wait to see how it all comes together. Xo, Stephanie
I love the pinks and golds! And I totally started planning my littlest 2nd birthday after her 1st…it's just so much fun.

I really like the middle invitation because it speaks to her room decor. All of the decorations are so cute! I'm sure the party will be a blast.
I love all the colors!!! You're going to be preoccupied with a new baby, so it's really smart to start planning now! XOXO
so cute!! and gosh i need to do some serious planning on this front, as well!! baby-havin' right before a third birthday will totally scramble my brain!!
Adorable!! Is it really crazy then I'm already thinking of a party/theme for our 5mo old?! π Oops. I'm just getting excited about this girl stuff and as much as I don't want to see her grow up, am excited to celebrate her. I love your idea/colors, as always. Such an exciting time, good for you for planning ahead. π
