I’ve started referring to Waverly as “almost two” when people ask now, I was holding strong with the month thing but had gotten one too many confused looks so I decided it was time. 😉 Yet for here (where so much more goes, thank you for that), happiest 22 months to Waverly Maye!! We are so excited to celebrate another milestone with you & of course, to ring in the BIG TWO in only a short couple of months. 🙂

Stats: Waverly is wearing mostly 18-24 month old pieces, but we have brought out her summer dresses from last year & even though most are 12 month, they fit! We of course don’t mind getting some more use out of them & oh how much we love a good summer dress. Another favorite for this time of year is rompers, this green one is one of our all-time faves. Waverly’s hair continues to get longer each day, so I am obsessed with her hair in piggies & bows, we love this strawberry one from The Prettiest Bow.

Favorite Words & Phrases: So, so many, I really can’t keep up!! Some of her current favorite words are … yea, no (usually followed by mama), yay, dada, edamame, eat, more & “AC’s” (to let us know she wants to do her alphabet puzzle). Waverly can pretty much name everyone in our immediate families, many of them she has given new names to that don’t even come close to their actual ones, but I guess that comes with being the first grandchild on my side. Also, she repeats “Bobby” throughout the day & laughs uncontrollably pretty much each time. For the record, we don’t know a Bobby & we have no idea where it came from, but my husband says when he finds out, “Bobby” is seriously in trouble.

Favorite Foods: Still obsessed with edamame over here. I had gotten into the habit of making it as a side to her dinner for a solid month straight & decided it was time for some creativity, so I gave her broccoli instead the other night. Waverly’s world came crashing down as she repeated “edamame” for the duration of our dinner so obviously, I’ve made edamame every night since. 😉
Favorite Activities: Waverly loves life & is excited about so many things right now!! The biggest change I have noticed lately is how much more independent she has become, which can be a good & bad thing. She knows exactly what she wants to do (& how she wants to do it) pretty much all of the time. Some of her favorite current activities are hanging in her playhouse, riding in dada’s truck, playing with mama’s jewelry, chasing the dog around the house, trying on shoes, or most recently, spraying the hose. She has become more interested in coloring (though mostly the walls) & will “read” her books while sitting on her playroom floor. Listening to her with her books is too precious, sometimes she prefers to be left alone so I sit outside the door. Of course her love for “swiiiings” continues, she also loves to sit on her dada’s shoulders. Both are the only two activities that will keep her still. 😉

Favorite Things: I’m about to restock both our board book & puzzle collection, they are a daily go-to & definitely are at the top of the list of Waverly’s favorite things. Ideas & suggestions of your favorites are welcome! Other favorites are the Ipad (we try to not use it often, but have found some really great toddler apps), her wagon & really any other moving objects, & a recent new addition, a step stool that she points to & says “hands”.

Latest Moves: Waverly loves people, she will say “hi” & wave to anyone we see all day long. She also has the best dance moves, which she performs all of the time but especially when her favorite song plays on Sesame Street. That’s when she really breaks it down. Her love for her baby dolls continues to melt me, she will feed them, talk to them, & rock them throughout the day. They even get to “eat” some of her edamame & believe me, that says something.

I’ve mentioned recently that Waverly has been going though a trying phase the past couple of weeks. We have certainly had our fair share of rough moments lately, but ultimately, her love for life & overall sweet nature make even the hard days well worth it. Together we are figuring out how to handle these moments of frustration & already have made some major progress. I have found that honestly, moments like these make our relationship that much stronger. 🙂
Waverly Maye, we love you more than you will ever know. Happy 22 months, sweet girl!
PS – We hope everyone had the most festive, fun-filled weekend!! Happy Memorial Day to all of you, & thank you to all those who have served, are serving, or have given their lives for our freedom.

I've had some confused looks when I say Noah is 18 months… I guess I should start saying a year a half now! Waverly is so cute and I love her rompers! Kids dancing is the cutest thing. I think Noah and Waverly would have the best dance party together!
I'm pretty sure anyone who doesn't have kids give a "ohhhokay" look when you give them any number past 12 months 😉 I still can't believe Waverly is almost TWO! Super excited to see your birthday plans!
ha. i love her! and seriously. who is this "bobby" person?! i'm dying over here!!
I love rompers too! She is too cute and I love how long her hair is getting!

Love her strawberry clippie! Charlotte has one almost identical. She got it for her 3rd birthday party – a strawberry themed event. As for board books, we loved anything by Sandra Boynton. She's around the right age to really start "getting" some of the funny stories.
Oh my gosh she is SO sweet! Do you use a professional camera to take your photos? They're always so beautiful 🙂
Also the Edamame thing has me laughing out loud! There could definitely be worse things for a toddler to be addicted to.. maybe i should introduce Scarlett to some Edamame 😉 Hope you guys had a wonderful Memorial day! xo
Right?!! I agree! You should, maybe she will love it as much as Waverly! 🙂
I use a Canon Rebel & I love it!!!! 🙂
Yeah, I already sense that people get confused when I say 18 months unless they have kids too. Waverly looks like she is just loving life and making everyone around her love it too! 🙂 I'm buying all of K's clothes for the past month in 18-24 or even 2T, in hopes that we'll get a lot of wear (like next summer too!) out of them! I hear they grow pretty slowly from here on out. 🙂 That green romper definitely deserves lots of wear!

Oh yes, the growing will totally slow down! Which makes me happy, I hated packing away clothes every couple of months! 😉
I seriously laughed out loud at the "bobby" thing! Too funny!!! Kennedy calls her paci "bubbie" for some reason so that leads a lot of people into thinking she has a brother, fun conversations! Love that romper btw!
Thanks for the super sweet pics of Waverly in our Strawberry clip! 🙂 She is adorable. Maddie is starting to be super lovey to her baby dolls too. Isn't that the sweetest? Like a tiny glimpse of what they would look like as little mommas! 🙂

She's just so happy!!! Love her.
Thanks girl, you are SO very close to having a little lady of your own! 🙂
she is the cuteness and so funny about "bobby" lol.
Right?!! Thank you!!!! XO
What a sweetie! Cannot believe how quickly they are coming into their own!
Haha I laughed about the Bobby part!! She has the most beautiful eyes!! It's crazy that she's already turning two. That's awesome that she loves Edamame! My kind of girl 🙂
Thanks love!!!!! XO
oh that green jumper too cute! Goes so well with her hair. Question on her hair, I just put my daughters hair in pigtails this weekend, and boy was it hard, those little rubber bands are hard! Maybe I bought the wrong ones? What do you use? How do you get it to look so good? Although maybe it's a little different since mine is only 8 months? See my blog post today for my pigtails, I seriously broke out into a sweat trying to get them in…crawling on the floor, chasing her around, and they were really messy…tips please!
Lol love the Bobby thing! 🙂 She is too cute!
Her jumper is adorable! Loving the pigtails! Our little girl's hair is finally long enough to put in a pigtails and then braid. So cute! I had to laugh at the confused looks when you said how many months she is. I don't like to switch either. Little guy will be a month old tomorrow and I'm so not ready to switch from saying days/weeks to months!
A braid?!! LOVE that!!!! Can't wait for Waverly's to be long enough! Happy one month to your little man! XO
LG is obsessed with oatmeal and would eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day if we would let her! Love the Bobby thing! Too funny!
Haha, at least they are both healthy ladies! 😉
Happy 22 months!! I've been loving the one and a half stage so I don't have to say months anymore. I can never remember them myself and definitely get those confused loooks when people start to count in their head, ha =) I wonder how long I can get away with one and a half, hopefully until almost two!!
She is such a happy little babe!! Love the little strawberry clip as well. Too cute!
Happy 22 months!
HAHA that is amazing. She says Bobby and you don't know any Bobby but Bobby is sure in trouble! Love it! Also Mason is obsessed with edamame too! I pack it with his lunch everyday and he gobbles it up so fast!
PS Can you share your favorite toddler apps? We could use some new ones/suggestions 🙂
Bobby – BAHA!!!
What a cutie patootie you have!
Happy 22 Months Miss Waverly!
I seriously love reading about all her goofy words and sayings that you don't know where they come from! That Bobby seriously made me lol! Myles favorite books are Goodnight Moon, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie (not a board book though), and Hand, Hand, Finger Thumb. He really likes the 10 Little Ladybugs and The Big Red Barn. I've also starting saying 'almost 2' or '2 in August' to people.. freaks me out a bit!
she is so cute! I love her sandals- where are they from?
You know I love that romper!!! And the Bobby thing seriously cracks me up! Ohhh the things they come up with 🙂 Oh and I'm trying edamame with Arden asap…I never even thought about it!
Happy 22 months, sweet Waverly!
