Some of her current favorites activities are doing crafts, singing and dancing, taking baths with lots of bubbles, playing tea party, dress-up or doing nails, playing blocks & “cooking” us dinner from either her kitchen or new BBQ grill outside. She really can entertain herself for a while now, and wants to, we are definitely at that age where she will tell us to go away for a while or to “get out of her room!”. So funny. Like most girls her age, her absolute favorite toys are her dolls, she loves them all so much & talks to them in the most high-pitched, sweetest little voice. They all have names and she picks one to come with us anytime we leave the house.
Obviously the biggest milestone lately is Waverly’s new status as a big sister, & she is a natural. There is no one she loves more than Avalon & she spends so much of her day just talking to her little sister and making sure she is ok. She hates when Avalon is sleeping (not always the best thing), and begs me to “wake my sister up” throughout the day. We had recently noticed that Waverly was having a harder time going to her sitter or even out with my husband, and turns out that it was because she did not want to be away from Avalon. She loves her so much, Waverly just has that caring part of her personality that goes perfectly with being the oldest child.
I have to mention it, because it’s reality, not all aspects of this age are seamless or a dream. Parts of these last few months have been the most challenging we have had yet, Waverly is opinionated, fierce, and as sassy as she has ever been. She wants to do everything on her own now & gets so upset when she can’t, and has a really hard time handling her emotions. It can be really frustrating, for everyone, but just like everything else, we will work through it and laugh about it all one day. Though I assure you, my husband was not laughing when he texted me to tell me that he would be leaving Waverly at the grocery store last week (& I really think he was serious, thankfully, they both came home!).
Oh my word, Waverly is not a baby anymore [although she always will be to you]. She looks so grownup and her personality shines through in your pictures. How sweet she's so attached to Avalon and I think it's adorable she has invisible friends. Imagination at her age is incredible, right?
Sending you a hug for those sassy moments :)!
I am not looking forward to just how big Mia is going to be once brother arrives, ah! But she will always be my baby 😉 I'm totally obsessing over Mia's imagination as well. It is SO FUN to see them playing in their own world!! I wish (as always) that we could have play dates!
Ah, she's so darn cute!!! I love how independent these "babies" have become since being promoted to big sister/brother! It amazes me! They are little people now with HUGE personalities!! I have loved watching her and grow, and seeing her as a big sister is amazing!! xo
OH my gosh she's getting so big, preschool?! That will be nice for you to have some alone time with A, but so hard to let your first go to school. I fear that I have the same personality on my hands too, if you have any tips as she gets older let me know, I'm scared for her older years…haha.
Your blog posts are always my favorite! I just love reading about your sweet family!
So much personality in her! Liam hates being without Finn too, and it just melts my heart!
We are experiencing so many of the same things. Right down to thinking I was going to leave Marcus at the grocery store (good times). Three is so fun and so challenging. Let's throw in so exhausting, for good measure.
It's really amazing how someone's personality can be captured in a photo. I love the one of her looking so sweet and then in the next you can totally see her sass! You've captured all of her perfectly!
I love that she loves her little sister so much too. She is the sweetest!
she is so sweet! love reading these updates 🙂
I love this! She is such a little cutie! I love that she has "friends" and that she can play independently! I cannot wait for Mac to get to that stage. And I love that she loves her baby sister – there's not a ton of that going on at our house either. 🙂 Urgh.
Ha ha! I love a toddler with a little sass! Cam can be so sassy sometimes and his imagination is huge too. They could be good friends. I love Waverly's "friends" and all the adventures they go on together. So cool!! Cam doesn't mind when Emmy names but isn't good at being a little quiet so she gets a good one. Whomp whomp! 🙂 beautiful toddler! 🙂
Bagels soup and mac and cheese sound like the perfect favorite foods to have! 🙂 So fun that she's into all of the girly stuff right now!
ANNA HAIR, not ELSA HAIR< that is tooooo funny! So cute she's all girl, love this sweet lil recap of her!
Gotta love her spunk and love for life! That and her love for Avalon. So sweet!
It always amazes me how similar Waverly and Liam sound. What an adorable girl! Nearly four year olds…. What will we do?!
How cute
What a beautiful post to your beautiful girl!!! She sounds so much like Cameron (minus the Anna/Elsa hair, although he would request that, if his hair was long enough!), and I cannot believe that FOUR has almost entered our lives. FOUR? That seems so old!! They are little people now….not babies! I have loved, loved, loved watching her grow and love when you write about her. I can just imagine so many of these things! xo
Such a girly girl! I love it! Is there a story behind the number 8?
Particular about her braids, love it.She sounds like the sweetest handful.
Sweet girl! Arden can be the Elsa to her Anna. Lately she's been asking to grow her hair out so she can have "one long white braid". Oh boy. Love these high maintenance girls!
Abigail's favorite color is purple too! And the number 8?? lol, where did she come up with that?
Anyway, she's adorable. Definitely entering into SUCH a fun stage. For sure!
Great pictures! She is so cute 🙂
