I’m feeling pretty good about the fact that today feels like Wednesday, but is actually Thursday … anyone else?! Short weeks are everything. So are weekends.
And on that note, how about some random thoughts?
1 – My husband & I are going out of town this weekend and I am kind of dying inside. I mean, we are doing it BIG – staying in a hotel room overnight while the girls stay with my in-laws, it’s pretty huge for us. And what excites me more than anything (other than seeing my beautiful friend walk down the aisle!) – is sleeping in the next morning. I hope I can make it happen past 8.
2 – My new favorite show is “Outdaughtered” on TLC. Anyone seen it? It’s the cutest couple with six daughters. Quintuplets & an older sister, all six under six and all GIRLS. So every time I think about Waverly & Avalon’s teenage years and get nervous, or maybe more relevant, when I’m feeling overwhelmed with what I’ve got going on, I think about that and attempt to pull myself together.
3 – I will have a one-year old in less than a week! And I’m doing really well with it. I remember crying in my car while Waverly slept in her car seat the week she turned one, which was obviously completely irrational but isn’t everything you say or do the first year of your kid’s life? I’m actually really looking forward to watching the girls interact more as they get older and also how much more we can do this summer since Avalon is older. I actually forgot how much I love this stage, when they can stand with those chunky legs but can’t quite walk yet.

4 – Please don’t take number three to mean that I still don’t have a serious addiction to babies because I told my husband the other night that I wanted at least 10. Please tell me someone else feels this way because seriously, give me all the babies.
5 – Waverly Maye & her stories lately. OBSESSED. This week she told me that “her & Sara are best friends, and then Sadie & Madison are best friends, we are all friends but some of us are better friends than others” … referring to the girls in her class. Then she was walking out out of the room where Avalon and I were sitting and she said “mom, can you please make sure she doesn’t hit her head on the table, ok?”. I think I can handle it, thanks. Love her so much.

6 – Summertime!!!!! Who is excited?! It’s been raining here for about two weeks straight but we have high hopes for this month. We are going to officially kick off the season with our first day at the waterpark next week, which is easily one of our favorite activities of the year. A little throwback of Waverly there last summer, which describes our feelings about it perfectly.

7 – I can’t get enough of off-the-shoulder everything. Give me every one-shouldered shirt, or dress, or romper. I want it all! I am loving this dress and want to wear it ALL summer long.
8 – I am a total sleep creep. And yes, I sometimes wonder how Avalon breathes like that & yes, that’s Waverly snuggled up in those covers & Bogger next to her, their set-up every single night.

9 – Just a little confession. The girls & I skipped afternoon naps and went to the beach and did it really big last week, so naturally they both fell asleep on the way home. I pulled myself right up to McDonald’s, ordered an ice-cream cone and sat in the front seat and ate every last lick all.by.myself in silence.
It was glorious.
Happy Friday Eve, friends! XO
PS – Fellow mamas, I know you will relate to this! Read my latest mode story here. 🙂
waaaaaaait. they share a room? girl…i cannot wait until my girls are in the same room. i feel like it's going to make life easier??? (or harder.) i've ordered sawyer's bed, a new light, dresser…now i need a little rug and get to painting. i loath painting.
Ooh next time noah falls asleep in the car I'm gonna have to use every ounce of restraint to not get an ice cream cone… Genius idea!
I have totally done the drive through while the kids are sleeping thing – and it felt even more delish than usual because it was a covert operation. Oh, the things we do as mamas! If I had the energy, I would totally have 10 babies too, mama. But right now, it's looking like 3 may be my limit, lol! And off the shoulder? YES! Give me all the off the shoulder styles!!!
Ahhhh, I am so glad that I'm not the only one who loves a nice McD's ice cream while the kids are napping! I know that if I ever order now, while Cam is in the car, he HAS to have one or it will be melt-down-city. A sleep creep – love it! Sleeping kiddos are the cutest (maybe because they're not talking ha). I bet Cam and Waverly could have some good stories together…Cam is precious/hysterical all day. every day. every second. He never stops talking, but I love it! 🙂 xoxoxo
You know I'm with you on wanting ten babies! Gimme gimme gimme! :p
lol, loved your confession. Been there!
I love the photo of your sleeping babes (and pup!) sooooo cute!!!
Sometimes a double car nap is the best thing ever!!! And Waverly in her maxi…OMG!!! Oh and how in the word is Avalon going to be ONE?!? That seems impossible!!! Enjoy your weekend getaway and sleep, sleep, sleep!!!
We just went out of town without the kids too and while I missed them, it was also GLORIOUS! You're going to love it! And now I want all the babies, all the dogs, all the naps and an ice cream cone!
I hope you guys have the best time away! In love of that photo with the pup cuddled up with her in the bed!
Sounds like a great weekend for you and the hubs! I hope you enjoy every minute of it. I haven’t seen Outdaughtered, but now I want to. Sounds like a fun one! Dying over this >>> “Mom can you please make sure she doesn’t hit her head on the table, okay?” <<< what a little mama! Love it.
I adore that picture of Waverly in the water park!!
And I'll take all the babes too!!
But first how sweet is waverlys room!!??!?
I'm counting on you to have ALL the babies!!! I mY have to stop at three, we'll see. Are you hoping for similar spacing between kids (such a personal question, I know)?
