Our Remie girl turned two months over the weekend, a whole nine weeks of life with her in it and we are just head over heels in love.  It’s not the easiest keeping up with these monthly updates these days, but they are important to me and I want her to have them to look back on just like her big sisters, so here it is — an update on our two month Remie Rue!

This month has been crazy, we started off by putting Remerie on Zantac after lots of signs of reflux (spitting up, hiccups, arching her back, & just seeming uncomfortable at times).  This seemed to help, mainly with her being content a lot more!  I have friends with babies who had reflux and also read a lot about it, hers was definitely a really mild case and I know it could be a whole lot worse, but was happy to give her some comfort and also to get our breastfeeding back on track.  Then she got sick and was diagnosed with RSV last week, so we have been battling that — both Waverly & Avalon had colds (tis’ the season!) the couple weeks before so she definitely got it from them, who definitely got it from school!  We were told it could last up to three weeks so we are certainly hoping that is not the case, it’s so sad to watch your babies not feel well, especially when they are so little and cannot understand.

Even with all that, Remerie is SUCH a happy baby and mostly laid-back!  She smiles all the time, even at the nurses who were swabbing her to test and clearing out her nose with a huge machine.  Her big sisters definitely get the biggest smiles though, she loves to watch them and loves when they hold and talk to her.  She is by far the happiest in the morning, and her favorite time of day is her bath which she LOVES!!  This month she started sitting in the bumbo and also found her hands, she loves to suck on her fingers to soothe herself — it’s really precious and she is the first of all three of our girls to do this.  Sleep is hit or miss, some nights she sleeps through the night and then others is up every few hours, and there really is no way to predict it.  Avalon was a unicorn baby & was sleeping 8-10 hours at this point so I am trying my best not to compare it to that, and also soaking in the late night nursing sessions which really are the only quiet moments of our day. 😉

Two months in and we still really are not sure who she looks like!  The big girls really resembled each other as babies but Remie does not really look like either of them, I will never get over her olive skin (SO different than mine!).  Her hair is lightening up a bit and she most definitely has the bright blue eyes like Waverly, Avalon & my husband.  She is just such a doll baby and we are in no rush at all, but I am so excited to see her grow!

We love to love you, Remerie Rue — there is not a day that goes by that I am not forever THANKFUL for you! XO

Happiest NOVEMBER!!!  Remie’s first holiday has come & gone, I can hardly believe it!  We had such a fun week celebrating Halloween before the day even came — Waverly’s Monster Mash at her new school, costume day at dance for both the big girls, pumpkin painting, and we took our whole zoo to the Boo Zoo, one of our favorite traditions.  We are running on little sleep right now and I was honestly exhausted by Wednesday, but if you know me, you know I live for this stuff and this year was no different.  I absolutely loved celebrating with all of our little girls and it’s still just so crazy to me that we have three kids to experience all the magic of the holidays with.

Wednesday, I got the girls ready in their best fall colors and like usual, we walked Waverly to school.  Avalon, Remie and I spent the morning making chili in the crock pot and cupcakes for later that night, and then went to Waverly’s school for her Halloween party.  The girls costumes were all store-bought (easiest EVER!!), but I loved them so much and also how coordinated they were even though we found them at separate stores!  Waverly was a garden fairy, Avalon a deer, and Remerie the sweetest little baby fox.

Trick or treating was adorable, watching Waverly & Avalon go from house to house SO EXCITED about it all was just the best.  Halloween night will always be one of my favorite nights as a parent and even though I don’t want Remie to grow too fast, it’s so fun to think about all three of them running around together in the next couple of years to come!

And lastly, funny story.  Remie wore her fox costume to the Boo Zoo on Sunday, we came home and of course it was chaotic and I didn’t think to look for it again until a little while before we went Trick or Treating Wednesday night.  And it was gone!!!  We searched the house, it was no where to be found, so apparently we lost it at the Boo Zoo.  Seriously, who loses their kids first Halloween costume?  It’s both hilarious and so fitting to our life right now with three kids.  Feeling lucky I am OCD and took pictures early AND for this candy corn costume I kept from Waverly’s first Halloween.

If anyone sees a baby fox, send them my way. They may just have found our costume. 😉

The countdown is on, one more week until Halloween and we cannot wait to celebrate our first official holiday as a family of five!!  Sharing some pictures of our October today, as well as five things I never want to forget about October 2018 – like usual, it went WAY TOO FAST.

I took all three girls to three different pumpkin patches.  One trip lasted all of fifteen minutes and we barely made it out alive, another ended with me nursing in the front seat of my car while the big girls entertained themselves by jumping over the seats in the back, and the last one was so hot we were all sweating (including Remie).  Expectations are low with three kids but we made all the memories and I am calling it a win.

Avalon’s first field trip was this month and it was just about the cutest thing ever.  It is so much fun seeing her make little friends and getting to experience being in big girl school just like Waverly.  Lately she is so silly (and getting her own spunk as well) but her personality is just so big and she is so much fun to be around.

Waverly is settling into first grade and absolutely loving it!  This month she had picture day and was so excited about it, I also took her two little sisters to come eat lunch with her at school and she was so proud.  She keeps a photo of her, Avalon & Remie in her bookbag — she will forever be the child that keeps us on our toes but she truly is the BEST big sister ever.

We have been seeing Remerie’s personality more & more the past few weeks, she is using her voice and smiling more all of the time.  The big girls get so excited when she smiles or makes eye contact with each of them, they also argue over who gets to hold her throughout the day.  She is definitely sooooo very loved and will never know what quiet is.

This month we got our mantle up just in time for the holidays, my husband made it out of wood from a tree that actually fell in our neighborhood.  It really is hard getting house projects done with three kids and jobs and everything else, but I remind myself all the time that one day our kids will be grown and gone and we will have all the time in the world for projects and then … we will be sad.  For now, soaking these little girls in while we can.

Hope you are having the best October!  XO

My little brother got MARRIED over the weekend!!  He (and his wife!) live in Colorado and had the most beautiful ceremony & reception at a ski resort in Breckenridge.  My big girls were the flower girls and sadly, I was not able to make the trip with Remerie being so little and not able to fly yet, but we made the most out of it and Facetimed throughout the weekend to feel as much a part of it as we could.  The girls had the absolute best time, it was Avalon’s first plane ride and both girls loved being able to play in the snow!  It was so weird being here without them, we loved being able to focus on Remie and to just slow down for a bit, but the quiet house was almost sad and I missed their tiny voices so much.  Such a good reminder that even though us mamas crave peace & quiet, one day once it’s all gone it will surely be missed, just like everyone tells us.

I took some photos of the girls in their dresses before they left, they were the cutest pretending they were “getting married like mommy & daddy” and wanted to borrow our rings to do their own vows.  Their dresses were custom by Wrare Doll, I looooove how they turned out and we will have to figure out somewhere else they can wear them before too long!

Congratulations Austin & Sarah, we are so incredibly happy for you both and wish you a lifetime of happiness. XO

Our Remie girl turned one month old yesterday, four of the sweetest & fastest weeks of my life!

Third time around and I feel like I am embracing & enjoying the newborn stage more than ever before.  I knew life with three with would be chaotic (and it is), but I reminded myself throughout my pregnancy of how fast it goes and also promised myself that once she was here, I would slow down and soak in this stage as much as I could.  Our days are full of school drop-offs and dance class and homework and endless snacks and just so much going on — but there is always so much sweetness in between.  I am determined to just hold her as much as possible, looking back on both of my big girls, that is the one thing I always just want one more chance to do again.  It’s also soooo much easier to not worry about the small things like crying or schedules when you really do know that everything is just a phase and will change in the blink of an eye.

Little bits about our Remie Rue!  She is the most alert newborn of all three of my girls, and has been from the day she was born four weeks ago.  She makes such good eye contact already and even though I know babies are not supposed to smile until six weeks or older, we are positive that she has been giving us real, social smiles for a couple weeks now.  Those smiles and sweet little baby sounds are just the best ever, I could just stare and listen to her all day long!  She loves baths, music, watching her big sisters, and most of all, being held.  A whole lot.  It’s a good thing I was so determined to keep her close because she won’t have it any other way.  So far, her temperament is laid-back until she isn’t — she definitely lets us know when she isn’t happy and doesn’t keep us guessing. 😉

Her profile reminds me of Avalon and when she is sleeping I see a lot of Waverly, but overall she really has her own look!  Her hair is still dark but is starting to lighten up a bit, her eyes are bright blue, and she has a dark complexion — which is so funny, my friend joked that when I am out with her, I needed extra bronzer so people will believe she is mine!!

Remerie, four weeks in and I already cannot imagine a life without you.  You are truly a dream come true and I pinch myself every single day that you are ours forever.  Happiest one month, my love!
