I rarely share weekend posts anymore, but this one was just too good to pass up!  My brother came home from Colorado to celebrate both of our birthdays, our days are exactly two weeks apart and I have so many memories from shared birthday parties when we were little.  The girls always are so excited to see him when he visits, and it’s always fun to have a reason to be way cooler than we usually are and get out out of our usual weekend evening routine.  My favorite part might just have been Waverly & Avalon running free and ridiculously happy on the beach at 8:30 in the dark (we don’t let them out at night much).  And of course, shopping sans kids was pretty amazing too.  You guys!  I even got to try something on in the fitting room! 🙂
Waverly ran into my room the morning of my birthday with the biggest smile on her face holding a card that of course, my husband had gotten and she had recited to him what to write.  It said “dear mommy, happy birthday.  i would like a baby and also to go camping”.  May she always write me birthday cards JUST like that.
PS – I got the dress I am wearing over the weekend and love it so much!  It is super comfortable and can also be worn with leggings, and comes in lots of other prints!  Definitely getting a few more and definitely recommend it.

The weather here has been ridiculously hot lately, too hot to do anything outside unless you are head to toe covered in water, and it honestly has me a little bit over summer and dreaming of fall.  But this weekend it finally cooled down some, so we took the girls to a little farm near us to visit with the animals and to get ice cream.
My husband & I have a not-so-secret life dream of moving to the country.  He’s always been 100% for it and I recently came on board, since I realized that even though it may be farther than a mall than I’m used to, now that I have kids all I do is shop online anyways.  Our girls love to be outside, as do we, and the thought of all our kids growing up & making memories like this on a huge chunk of land is pretty magical to me.
I also wanted to share the details on the maxi dress I am wearing, which I love so very much!!!  I have been a tried & true fan of maxi dresses forever, they are a go-to for me all year long.  I just love how put together they make you look and feel, when let’s be honest, you are a mom and you really aren’t put together at all. 😉
The print on this one stood out to me immediately, the floral makes it summery for now but it can also be worn in the fall or winter with a denim or leather jacket.  The dress is from Pink Blush, which also has a great maternity line, and actually this dress is sold in maternity as well.  I am running a giveaway on my Instagram starting tonight for a $50 credit, they have so many other adorable options as well!!  Good luck! 🙂
And hope you all had the best weekend!

The girls & I went on a little vacay last week with my parents to South Carolina.  This was the first vacation we had taken in a while, and definitely since Avalon was born, since traveling with little kids just kind of terrifies me.  We are very routine-driven around here, and even though I’m all about making the memories with my babes, sometimes it’s just easier to do that when you are house is still within driving distance.  Please tell me someone else is as lame as me.
So yes, the packing for three which might have taken seven hours, the driving through the night so the girls would sleep in the car, and the adjustment back to normal life (which still hasn’t really happened) – I could have done without all of it.  But!  Every bit was worth it.  The girls had the absolute best time and seeing their little faces light up while adventuring through somewhere entirely new was just magic.  We were able to spend some quality time with my parents and though we missed daddy, he was able to get lots of house projects in while we were gone.  The resort we stayed at was beautiful, it had a crazy amount of pools (with bars!) & a trolley that took you straight to the beach.  Waverly learned how to swim without her floatie and Avalon officially started WALKING!  Moments we will remember forever for sure, there’s no doubt that vacations are good for the soul.

Now we’ve been home for a few days and Waverly still keeps asking when the trolley will show up at our door to take us to the beach. 😉
Hope you all had the most fabulous weekend and are having a great week!  Halfway there!

Thank you to everyone for your anniversary wishes on my IG over the weekend!!  This year just seemed bigger than any other one yet, five years somehow sounds so official & it’s crazy to look back on everything that has happened since then.  Pretty much like parenthood, our wedding day seems like it was forever ago and like it was yesterday, all at the same time.

The girls spent the day with my parents and then the night with my in-laws. Waverly gets so excited for things like these & we have learned the hard way not to tell her until minutes before she leaves. Otherwise she will keep asking us over and over when it is time to go (apparently patience is not a three-year old virtue).  Her beaming happiness to leave us for the night is both sad and the best reminder that Avalon’s current “clingy to only mom” phase is certainly short-lived. 😉

The hubs & I had the best day, which included buying a new couch (#adulthood) and both lunch and dinner out without high chairs or sippy cups.  It was glorious, absolutely glorious, and by Sunday morning, we were more than ready to get back to our babies.  So funny how just one day can leave you feeling so refreshed and rejuvenated, we were over the moon excited to reunite with our sweet girls.  We picked them up and headed peach-picking, which was so, so much fun!!!  Activities like these are just my favorite ever, if you have one near you, it’s definitely worth the trip.

And just like that, we are halfway to another weekend!  Hope you are all having a great week!

Happiest Friday!  I feel like it’s been forever since I did a random post of pictures, & you know I got ’em, so I thought it would be fun to round some up to kick off the weekend … along with a little update on life our way!
The girls are growing by the day, we are in the homestretch to having a one and four year old and as much as I want to be sad about it, I’m loving these ages so much.  The closer we get to four, the more manageable Waverly seems to get, most of the three-year old tantrums can be handled now way easier and (most of the time!) I really feel like a have a little bestie.  We painted our nails together the other morning while Avalon was napping and I was even able to let them dry … #miracle.  She has just a couple weeks of school left, along with her first field trip and end of year party, and we are really excited to put her back into dance class this summer.  She’s also doing weekly swim lessons with her “best friends” from school (ask her, she will list all five of their names!), all of the girls because anytime you ask her the boys in her class are still “grumpy & naughty”.
Avalon is getting over an ear infection, which was the saddest thing ever.  She had a bad cold last week that just never went away, so finally we decided to take her back to the doctor for a second time & on the way, she threw up all over her and the back seat in my mom’s car.  Waverly was coaching her back to health from the back saying “sweetie girl, you are ok!”, and hasn’t stopped telling me how sissy threwed up ever since.  Thankfully, she is feeling much better and already back to her sweet little self, just extra snuggly.  She is very much a mama’s girl & loves nothing more than a nursing session each night, for at least an hour. 🙂
As for me, I did my first stylized shoot for work & am so excited to share soon!  I have cut back to just a few days at the bridal salon and am working from home on my business and the blog the others.  Balancing being home and working is NO JOKE, and I am still really trying to figure it all out, but I know it will get easier as time goes on.  At the end of the day (everyday), I feel so lucky to be able to get more time with my babies & don’t ever take it for granted.
Even if sometimes I feel like I crazy person.  Just look at their faces!
You may have seen some of these on Instagram, follow me here because I am much better at keeping up with posting!  And happy, happy weekend! XO
