Mother nature clearly reads my blog (I’m honored, really!), since within 24 hours of my winter weather rant last week, she decided to step in with rising temperatures & the bluest of skies!! After being stuck inside all winter long, we were more than ready for some fresh air. Really, Waverly Maye made it very clear as she sat at the door repeating “ooouut-siiiiiide” over, over & over again. My outdoor girl, I love her so.

We are so lucky to have the best park two streets from our house, complete with a jungle gym, swings, slides & a lake which always has lots of ducks for us to feed. Pretty much anytime the weather is over 60 degrees, we make our way there & stay as long as possible. It’s a no-brainer for us, Waverly LOVES, loves to explore & has a serious obsession with gum-balls, rocks & leaves. They will keep her entertained all afternoon really so between that & the jungle gym, it’s her own personal paradise.
For me, I get the opportunity for some actual physical activity on the short run there (before I had Waverly I worked out every single day & she is going on nineteen months now … not sure I could tell you the last time I hit the gym). So I appreciate that & obviously love to watch her in her element, she really is beyond happy there & that makes me happy.

With the cold, the last week has really been our first time back in a while & Waverly is totally in rare form. Apparently since she is officially a year & a half now, she no longer needs any assistance climbing up the jungle gym or sliding down the slide. In fact, she refuses it & I’m pretty sure by next week she will be hanging from the bars while doing pull-ups all on her own. All while I am having a major panic attack & all the other moms are looking at my super active child while theirs sit in the swing quietly. 😉
And the cutest, she missed the duckies so much that she offered them her yogurt pouch & wanted to feed them her entire pb&j. You know you have done your job as a mom when your little lady is willing to share her snack pouch, right?!! I was so proud!
Other than our obsession with spending lots of time in the outdoors, we obviously love spring styles, too!! I cannot wait to dress Waverly in tons of dresses, skirts & gladiator sandals (my fave!) … yet we clearly have some time to kill before we officially make it there. In the meantime, we are getting spring ready with bright colors & floral prints, just used on styles that still keep my girl warm. This Gap jacket (no longer available in pink, here in blue) is totally perfect for that, here are some other looks that will help beat the winter blues!!

I clearly have an obsession with pink, stripes & chambray. All scream spring for me yet still are classic & versatile enough to layer when it’s still cold out. And all are from Gap & Old Navy, two of our absolute favorite places to shop, both for mama & mini!
So for now, we will take in every bit of the warm weather while we can. It looks like the rest of the week is back in the 40s so you will find us extra layered & dreaming of spring. 🙂 Warm weather wishes your way, hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!
XOXO

She is too cute wanting to share her pouch! So sweet!

That last picture of her….I die! SO cute! I'm completely convinced that her and Sadie would be bff's. As I'm sitting here typing this, she's looking out the window repeating, "owww-side" like a broken record. We've had beautiful weather the past several days…like high 70's and sunshine beautiful weather but Texas bipolar weather is showing it's true colors with cold temps today and a high in the 40's tomorrow. Heeeeeeeeelp Meeeeeeeee. P.S. I love that bow on her….so cute!!!

Okay before I can talk about anything else I just have to tell you how freaking cute she is! I mean ADORABLE!!!
Now I am totally with you on spring fever. I am from Georgia where now is really the time to prepare for spring. But here, we still have a couple more months. I want to buy shorts, sandals, and tanks like you wouldn't believe! But instead I am expanding my cold weather wardrobe for next year.
Yay for the change of weather! Love your little picks. That skirt is so cute.
Send some of that warmth over here, please!! We have another freezing cold week ahead here in MN! I'm so ready for spring and spending hours at the park with my kiddos!
We LOVE park days too! Wish ours had a pond with ducks though! Also, I hear ya about the gym! I was working out every day before Liam was born! But since then, I haven't ben able to bring myself to leave him in the daycare at the gym while I work out. I'm thinking this needs to change though, because I want to have an active pregnancy whenever #2 comes along. I need to get my butt in gear now!
I'm pretty sure if my little guy had it his way we would live at the park. Or the aquarium. Or the beach. Anywhere outside.
Love that you captured Waverly so intently studying the geese. So sweet.
Her outfit. Bless.
Gahhh I am ready for Spring… like now!! So glad you guys enjoyed some beautiful weather too! Hope you guys have a wonderful week!
It's too bad the warm weather didn't last longer. I am so ready for spring! So cute about feeding the ducks! I wish we had something like that nearby!
love all of her clothes & her entire outfit! I'm so ready for Spring-time weather to hit here…I've definitely missed our park visits!
SO SWEET! Seriously love the pictures of her sipping on her yogurt pouch while checking out the ducks and the sharing her yogurt with the ducks. Such a sweet girl! And my Mason is doing the same thing! Wild man at the park. He LOVES to climb up the slide instead of go down and hates when you offer help. He's also gotten to that age of no fear and loves to go down the slide face first too! Our kids at the park together would be trouble!! LOL.
We've had warmed temps this week too and it has been GLORIOUS. It's supposed to drop again this week, but the brief respite from the ol vortex was just what we needed.
What a stylish little girl 🙂 I love you spring favorites number 3 has to be my complete and absolute fav !!
So sweet! Elin loves the outdoors as well and she was so excited this weekend when we could finally get to the park!
If we were at the park with you, there's not a doubt in my mind that Carter would for sure be a wild child with miss Waverly too!
That is super cute that she wanted to share her snacks with the ducks! I'm glad you guys got some nice weather and Waverly got to enjoy the outdoors.
What a polite young gal sharing her pouch. 😉 I am so jealous – we still have FEET of snow on the ground! I am ready for spring. Those clothes…too cute!! I had a little shopping spree the other day while everything was 40% off…Cam will be styling this spring/summer!! 🙂 xo
Oh man, Mia will NOT sit in the swings to save her life! She has to be running around and checking everything out! She loves to climb up the jungle gym and she'd probably slide down by herself if my heart could handle it. Why do they grow up so fast??
We have been having the weirdest winter! Usually we are stuck inside until April but we've been having 50-60 degree weather all month! It's been amazing but I'm worried we will literally be on fire all summer long. Yikes! We need more snow!
Yey for you, we are getting more snow tonight and a high of 10…I think I need to move south!! Here we come y'all! Haha
we got the striped romper and LOVE it!
She seems so fearless of the geese and ducks!!
I'm so glad you got to enjoy some warmer weather! She looked so cute feeding the geese!
This weekend was perfect. I was ok with winter but after that tease, I am now ready for spring!
So glad you are enjoying the warm weather too, and I am loving her pink coat! 🙂
Her floral boots are so cute! It's so sweet how kids love to feed the ducks! I don't think I've ever met a kiddo who doesn't enjoy doing that!
she's seriously so sweet. LOVE her boots. We went to a park recently with ducks- with a very strict "no feeding the ducks" rule. I was totally bummed! So we'll have to find ducks we actually can feed lol.
Looks like a fun weekend, glad you are enjoying some warm weather!
