Just in case you were wondering, it’s still raining in Virginia Beach. I’m pretty sure this is the sixth day in a row. The good news is that we now live on waterfront property. And despite the weather, we had a pretty memorable FALL weekend.
I really am convinced that there is nothing better in life than experiencing these first holiday moments with your child. I really couldn’t contain my excitement driving to the patch, I just knew my sweet nature lover would in pumpkin paradise. She was.

Seriously, nothing makes me happier than moments like these. Is it weird that I really do wish this was our backyard? Or at the very least, would like to go back to visit every weekend until Halloween … and plan to!
I definitely don’t think Waverly Maye would mind, she made it clear that she really wanted to lay down & sleep with the pumpkins.
My sweet pumpkin, I really can’t blame her. I wanted to bring them all home, too!
Like mother, like daughter. 🙂
The rest of our weekend was spent indoors. We managed to get in as many fall activities as possible, all which were perfectly friendly for the inside while mother nature was causing complete craziness around us. As much as I hate the rain, it does create a cozy atmosphere for some quality family time. We ate
pumpkin pancakes & pumpkin cookies. We made a washi tape
Halloween garland. And attempted making this
candy corn pizza.
I’ll spare you the picture of how it came out, delicious but totally not what i envisioned. It’s the thought that counts?
And YES, I must point out that this crazy toddler sat still long enough to glitter her very first pumpkin! I decided to go for it & although it ended up a hot mess of glitter & glue, it was worth it.
For me, at least. Don’t ask my husband, I’m hoping we are not still finding specks of glitter next year at this time when I want to try again.

We hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Can you believe it is already HALFWAY through October? Thoughts of my toddler trick or treating are officially dancing in my HALLOWEEN head!
XOXO

Looks like y'all had a wonderful beach weekend. Happy birthday to your husband, I'm sure he loved the fishing trip. Waverly is so cute in the water, sounds like lil girl needs some swim lessons ASAP so she can swim to the edge of the ocean and back without mama worrying ;)!
So jealous of your amazing weather! Get me out of AZ! It's hotter than hell and I'm OVER it! (I hear that winter makes up for it… I'm just ready to go outside again. It's opposite for us, we are couped up indoors while everyone enjoys summer, and we will be outside loving life while everyone is indoors avoiding winter, ha!) LOVE your beach time! So glad you were there with family to help. I am seriously dying for you over brave little Waverly. I mean, serrrrrrriously!! Time to get that girl in serious swim lessons for just in case… ha ha! Bless your momma heart!!
ugh Courtney I feel ya!!! We barely left the house this weekend its soooo hot!
Waverly calling Avalon gorgeous melts my heart! SO sweet! Happy Monday :)! xx
Love the picture of Waverly living it up under the pier! Such a fun girl!
How is she possibly this grown up that she can swim without floaties?!!! Wow. So jealous of your beach days and lovely weather. It's about 800 degrees here right now. Bleh. And I agree, she's just gorgeous! 🙂
What a great weekend, and yes to the needing husbands on the weekends! I absolutely adore yawning baby pictures, they are just too cute! And oh the "I think I can swim" thing, my almost 2 year old is going through that now…talk about scary!
Totally hear you on not getting out in the evenings anymore. The newborn phase is officially over lol.
Great pictures as always!!
Oh, and I think I need to sign up for a few solo coffe shop hours myself 🙂
Love all your beautiful beach photos. Waverly always looks so full of joy there!
I feel the same way about Mondays as Avalon does. "yaaaaawn!" haha
I am so inspired by your motivation to get out with your computer. I need that!!! Otherwise, I find myself up til midnight every night, trying to crank out blog posts. Ugh. These pictures are gorgeous (as usual!) Always love updates on your sweet fam bam!:)
What a perfectly fun weekend of beaching! It doesn't get much better than little toes in the sand. Waverly is getting so brave to want to tackle the ocean with no floaties.
Loving the idea of slipping away to a coffee shop for a few hours. I might have to see if I can't set up an arrangement like that.
oooh a coffee/laptop break? Sounds like just the ticket to keeping sanity.
Enjoy the lovely beach weather!
Perfect family beach pics! Is there anything better than family and beach time?
So fun! The girls keep getting more and more gorgeous! (PS We don't usually go anywhere after 5, unless it's for a walk. Restaurants are out of the picture for a hot second and anywhere we can't move her is crossed off the list, too.) xoxo
No float? I would die. I'm glad you had your family there to help you with the new master swimmer 😉 Even when Emerson was swimming with a float on, I still watched him like a hawk. I hope he's content to wear one of those of the next twenty years. ha. So glad you were able to enjoy some time at the beach though! And a coffee date with yourself? Very nice!
That picture of you guys under the bridge is SO cute! And Waverly splashing too… so so cute!
Sounds like a great weekend! And that last pic is priceless!
