It’s been a crazy kind of week our way. We were already a little behind after our road trip this weekend (which was totally worth it, can’t wait to share!), then on top of that I’ve had some major technology issues & a two-day migraine that was such a pain in the ass I decided I would have rather been in labor. Even without an epidural. When it rains, it pours, right?!
And speaking of rain, they are calling for a ton of it here (a tropical storm, actually), for the Fourth.
On the plus side, my blog is now fixed (& updated!), by the super talented Lynsey of Shiny Magic. She was so sweet & easy to work with, I highly recommend her if you are like me & really have no idea how to make most of the technology work behind your blog. Most of the time I am able to make it work through Google & some small miracle, but this time I basically hit a button & my whole blog went to hell. Thanks, Lynsey, you seriously made it happen!
Another positive, Waverly has been in the happiest of moods, she must know it is a holiday week! Her new favorite phrase is “it is so good to see you!”. She says it all day long, mostly to the dog, but also to her babies, us, & even has told the buckle on the car seat she was happy to see it a few times now. She makes me so proud. 🙂
I also want to give the biggest thank you to Parenting Magazine
for including us this week on their round-up of favorite mommy blogs!! To say we are honored is definitely an understatement, most days I’m still shocked that someone other than my mom reads our posts each week. 😉 The list includes favorite fashionable mom bloggers & you can find it here
, I was so excited to find some new blogs to follow myself. It’s definitely worth checking out!
In between all of the craziness this week, we have found time to have some Fourth of July fun & we are so excited that it’s only one day away! Waverly & I had a baking date to make these festive chocolate-covered pretzels, it’s one of our favorite things to make together & my husband’s favorite sweet treat.
We also have stocked up on every red, white & blue fruit, plus everything we need for smores! It totally looks like we are going to be rained out, so I am making sure we at least can celebrate with our food. If you have any ideas for rainy day activities for the Fourth, please send them my way! The only thing I have come up with so far is putting our pool float in the driveway or sparklers under our covered porch, both of which I’m certain we could file under “dangerous” & “don’t do with kids”.
Wishing the HAPPIEST holiday weekend to all of you!
