Our Week & A Few Favorites

Oh, what a week it has been, full of both the sweetest moments & others that put me in slight state of panic!  It all started when my husband called me Tuesday morning at work to let me know that the strap off  Waverly’s purse had broke.  I’ve mentioned before that she is obsessed with purses lately, she has one favorite & I’m convinced her addiction to it gets worse by the day.  She hoards things in there but doesn’t let us look in it, she freaks out if we even get close (two-nager). We do know that it has some sort of mix of granola bars & chapstick though, since we snuck a glance one time when she wasn’t looking.

So I was worried all day about her, which I should have been, since when I picked her up the tears immediately started rolling (like bucket tears) over her broken purse.  I seriously haven’t seen her cry like that or for so long since our newborn days, I felt so bad for her while at the same time, couldn’t help but almost laugh over the fact that our first huge meltdown in months was over an accessory.  She is my child, I should have known this was coming. šŸ˜‰  Good news, we finally calmed her down, though it was touch & go for a while, & she currently has my mom’s old purse as a replacement until my mother-in-law sews the strap back on her ($2) favorite purse.

Also in happy news, we got some extra time together this week since I had off work Monday!  We went to the best breakfast place, had a date to Target, & I got lots more organizing done in the nursery!  I wish every Monday could be exactly like that, two days for a weekend is just never enough.

I am proud to announce that we have a new addition to the family, a beta fish named Norman!  My brother took Waverly for a lunch date last weekend so we could get some work done around the house, a couple hours later they showed back up with a fish, food, & a fish bowl.  I was so appreciative.  Waverly was thrilled, she adores her uncle anyways, then the fact that he bought her a living animal pretty much sealed the deal that he is her favorite for life. šŸ˜‰  We are currently working on teaching Waverly that we don’t “mix Norman” like we do cake batter, she really wants to take our big kitchen spoons & give him an extra spin.

No family photos of Norman yet, just Waverly & her first pet (& bestie), Bogger.

Sweater (Zara, Last Season) & Boots
Finally, I have a couple favorites from this week, two from two of my favorite bloggers!  I ordered this headwrap after reading about it on Erin’s blog, we have a couple headwraps but I love the chambay on this one, it’s so versatile!  A food favorite, these no-bake energy bites from Megan, she had me at “no-bake”. šŸ˜‰  I have the weirdest appetite lately, pregnancy related for sure, so this seems easy enough to bring with me when I am starving & nothing looks appetizing, plus I know Waverly will like them, too.

Happy weekend, friends!
XO

It's so cute what items become their FAVORITE thing and when something happens to it it's literally the end of the world! Noah is becoming that way with his stuffed animals and I'm worried I will learn soon why moms get duplicates ;).

I've been eating no-bake energy bites this week too! So delish. And can I have Waverly's star sweater and boots outfit? šŸ˜‰

Her big blue eyes are just the cutest thing! Hope her little sister gets those gorgeous eyes too:) And that story about the purse? That is one for the memory books for sure – one you will def want to remember to tell her one day! It's little things like these that make me SO excited to have a girl. Love it! Hope you have a very good weekend, sweet friend!:)

The purse!! Haha Soooo sweet, Scarlett is definitely an accessory obsessed little gal also and I've caught her hoarding 'treats' (goldfish) and chap stick in her purse also. I would have definitely worried too, it's so sad to see their little hearts broken, no matter how small it seems to us.

That head wrap is amazing, and Lex always seems to pull them off perfectly doesn't she? I ordered the sweetest white polkadot one for Scarlett and she will NOT let me put it on her head… maybe in another few months I'll try again šŸ™

My in-laws bought Liam a beta fish too; his name is Russel Wil-swim! šŸ˜‰ He lives in the playroom. Hope Waverly is loving here and has recovered from the traumatic purse experience!

She's going to rock that headwrap! I can't get enough of them. It's bad. But they're so cute! And I can't get the smile off my face over her purse obsession. It's seriously so cute and funny. And girly! I love her!

Lol at wanting to given the fish an extra spin. lol totally see Lily doing that. Who by the way, is a purse hoarder as well. She will randomly start eating something and sure enough it's usually a snack from weeks ago that she stuck away in her purse. She also likes to carry around her doll house furniture in her purse…not sure why? Thank goodness for grandmas who can fix stuff šŸ˜‰

Funniest story ever about Waverly's purse! Poor girl! And, two-nager is the perfect description for this age…even for boys! And yet I have a feeling three-nager will be even worse… Have a great weekend!

Omg, that is hilarious about the purse! haha! Charli was OBSESSED with our beta fish Buoy… Buuuuuuut he died… oops! I was proud of myself for keeping him alive for a month! Mom points! šŸ˜‰ We had a burial in Charleston for him and Charli was beside herself for weeks! Like WEEKS!

Oh my goodness. "We don't mix Norman" like we do to cake batter. She's like "But I think he will like his swimming pool swirling" LOL. Sweet girl! Congrats on the new addition!
    Happy weekend mama!

Oh my goodness! This is too precious. Nothing comes between a girl and her purses! And those pictures of her are too precious! And I’m sorry, but I laughed at the thought of Waverly mixing Norman with the kitchen spoon! Too cute and hilarious.
