Our Valentine’s Day & Date Night Ideas

Hope you all had the most wonderful long weekend full of love & so much sweetness!!  This Valentine’s Day was easily one of our best yet, it was also our most laid-back ever, which was probably why I liked it so very much.  Saturday night, the girls had a cousins night at my in-laws house, while my husband and I drank beer, painted our living room grey, and ate a steak dinner cooked (with love!) in our very own kitchen.  And it was perfect.  In years past we went out to dinner to celebrate and this was just so much better, no wait, no expensive food, and no need to wear anything else besides pajamas.

Valentine’s morning, we opted for a trip to the donut shop rather than a big breakfast made by us, and then let the girls open their baskets full of pink.  I apologize for what is definitely too many pictures of them in the same pajamas, in the same room, but their little faces just look so different in every one that I literally couldn’t erase one of them.  Any other mamas relate?!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a current post with some other moms I was a part of, called #topknottalk.  I love the idea of this, it’s basically a way to chat & relate to other women, which is something I think is SO important. For my topic, I asked for date night ideas!!!  I got the some of the best answers and during our Valentine’s day dinner, my husband and I read them together and can’t wait to try some over the next couple of months.  Some of the ones we really liked, board games, painting canvases over wine, and maybe my favorite, going to Walmart with $5 spending limit to shop for the other and then going for ice cream to exchange what you got.  If you have any fun date night ideas, please share, it’s such a fitting (& fun!) topic for this month!!  XO

If those donuts tasted half as good as they look, they must have been like little slices of heaven!:) Love all the sweet pictures of your girls – and definitely have the same problem. I can never erase photos of my kiddos, no matter how similar the photos appear. Even a slightly different angle cannot be deleted:)

I think this one was our best yet too and low key as well – I think that might be our new motto moving forward. Those donuts look delicious, the pictures of the girls are too cute and everything sounds great!

How precious is this?! We had a very emotional Valentine's Day, sadly, but it was lovely to spend with family <3

I'm definitely not a restaurant person either when it comes to valentine's Day. It just gets too crazy! One of our favourite date nights consists of a round or two of Heads Up (Ellen's app game). I always end up with tears from laughing so much!!

They are TOO cute in their matching pjs! I have the exact same problem as you 99% of the time and often post too many photos. BUT in my opinion, you can never have too many pictures of your kids! 🙂
