If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that Waverly Maye had her first official dance class last weekend!! It was a really big moment for us, Waverly loves to dance, she is moving all the time anyways & then as soon as she hears any type of beat she starts circling the room making sure everyone is watching her. We recently found a place that would take her even though she isn’t three yet, most of the places around here won’t take little ones that early but this dance studio agreed to since she is officially potty trained now! 🙂
Part of me was nervous, she has been in a my gym class since she was six months old and we have done gymnastics, but both are mommy & me so she has never done anything that structured or without me there. Also, Waverly is outgoing as they come, but is sometimes shy when she first meets someone or is a new situation. I wasn’t sure if she would even go in without me or last the hour if she did. Yet she shocked me (don’t they always?!), ran right in without looking back & had the absolute best time. I sat right outside the door even though I couldn’t see anything, at one point the room was quiet & then I heard Waverly’s voice yell out “do you have all about that bass & will you play it really loud?”. Yep, my kid. Overall, it was so much fun & I am already looking forward to her dance recital in a few months!

We have recently been trying to figure out what we are going to do with both girls in the fall, we know we want to send Waverly to preschool at least part-time & we have quickly learned those spots fill up way in advance (like maybe I should book baby girl now?!). I know Waverly will love it, plus I really want her to be around other kids her age & to have something all of her own once her world is rocked by a little sister. I toured a school this week, which I immediately fell in love with & know Waverly will fit in perfectly there. As soon as the director mentioned themed holiday parties and field trips, I knew we had met our match. 😉 I’m sure other moms can relate, it’s hard enough to leave your kid anyways, so it feels really good to find a place that I feel comfortable with & that overall, just feels right.
And because it’s Friday, a few things I have had my eye on this week! This dress, it is such a steal & fits perfectly with the bump plus can be worn after. I’m excited to wear it all summer long! I also finally got curtains for the nursery, I went with all white blackout ones, then got these gold knobs for a fun pop on either side. And a fun treat for Easter, this bark that would be super easy & fun to make with the little ones!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
PS – Waverly’s leotard and bow are from H&M, the bow is actually from the adult accessories section which is where I always find cute bows for super cheap. 🙂
Oh so cute!! I can't wait to put Charli in sports or dance or gymnastics… or all! haha! And I know how you are feeling with the preschool. I didn't want Charli going, but a week before I had Crew she was accepted into the best school in Charleston and I wish so badly we were still there. She LOVED it and I loved it even more! Especially since I could be room mom with a newborn and do some parties! It was the BEST!!!! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
Ummm, she is the cutest lil dancer on the block. Love her lil ballet outfit, just precious, lady!
And all that bass, hahaha, she is quite a hoot, too!
Oh my goodness preschoolers are the cutest lil things. I know she'll love school!
hahaha, what she shouted is the funniest!
Could she be ANY cuter in that little pink tutu?? Oh my word!!!! I'm so glad that she enjoyed her first dance class! What a fun activity for her–and when you look that cute doing it…why not?? 🙂
Hope you guys all enjoy a nice weekend together!!
Waverly's leotard and tutu are so cute! Oh yeah I'm already getting nervous about preschool this fall! I'm sure he'll do great and love it but it will be so weird not to have him home every day! Happy weekend!
I can't wait to do ballet!! So fun, so sweet in her tutu!
Stop it! Waverly is too funny! "all about that base"…. ha ha! She is such a character! That is so exciting that she's in a dance class all by herself! Mia will be doing mommy and me classes forever- probably because she won't ever become potty trained (HA!)
That is so crazy and exciting that you're looking at pre schools! Why do our babies have to grow up?!
So sweet! I'm looking into getting sadie into dance class, too! She needs something like that with kids her age but I don't want to drop her off for hours of pre-school a few times a week when I'm able to be home with her. We live in such a rural area that there really aren't any great Mother's Day out programs and it doesn't make sense to drive an hour twice a week to take her to one…so a dance class seems to be the best solution, plus she's like Waverly and LOVES music! I have a friend that works at a good studio and they take kids as young as 2 1/2 as long as they're potty trained…they're on spring break this week but I'm dying to call and see if they have an opening!
Dying over the cuteness!!! That tutu is just too much! 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend pretty lady!
Waverly looks so adorable in little tutu!!! Elin loves her dances classes as well!
I cannot wait to put Quinn in dance! Ive actually been looking at a few and hoping that day is right around the corner. I also know what its like to have to leave the babes. Since our move we have been looking into switching the kids daycare/preschool and it breaks my heart. Hope we find a good one!
Love sweet Waverly in her little bow and tutu. So, so precious! And so glad she enjoyed her first dance class. I think I would have wet my pants hearing her holler out like that – too funny!!!:) I am so looking forward to doing all the fun, girl stuff like this. And last, but not least, we got our preschool registration packet a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe it's already that time. Caleb will just be doing a 2 year old class twice a week, so not full on pre-school yet, but still. To think that he's been in the baby class (i.e. the 'Mother's Morning Out') class and is getting ready to move up just breaks my heart. I don't want him to grow up!!!
We're talking about starting dance with A. I'm not sure when, but I think she is finally ready 🙂 and man, I just love h&m! I wish we had one close to us. Oh well- prob for the best :p
Waverly is the cutest in her dance outfit! I'm so glad she had so much fun and did so well! Seriously, these kids totally surprise us! Mason went on a train (at a petting zoo) by himself for the first time the other day and I was so surprised. He totally sat there, had a huge smile on his face, and did it all by himself like a big boy. I'm not ready for him to grow up so much!
Oh my gosh!! Haha "Do you have all about that bass" So funny! What a cutie! I can not wait to put Scarlett in dance 🙂
I can't get enough of her in her dance outfit! And yay for finding a school that you love! That will make the transition for both you & Waverly go so smoothly!
She has got to be the cutest little ballerina! I just love how much her hair has grown over the last so many months and it fits in a bun!!! Of course you would since your a fashion teacher but thank you for getting her all dressed up in the right clothes for ballet! I have a friend who signed her daughter up for ballet after school and sent her in jeans…poor kid!
