Happy Monday. For me, this particular Monday has been a bit of an adjustment.
Which may be why I have already left for work with the car seat in my car, my breast pump sitting in the living room, and was unable to find my keys. That last one though, totally my hubby’s fault.
It’s back to reality after an entire week of uninterrupted life with my girl. So the obvious Monday crash is being away from that sweet face. But as always, I like to stay positive and think of the fact that it is now 9 more weeks until SUMMER vacay! A TOTAL CREST! I’m so anxious, exhilerated, thrilled … I can hardly stand it.

I wanted to thank everyone for your kind comments about the blog and for participating in my first giveaway. My mini-me is thankful too, and was happy to help me in picking a winner for the Target $10 Gift Card.
At random, Waverly Maye chose Chrissy from Sweet Baby Sphar. Congratulations, Chrissy!
In other news, Waverly Maye went on her first road trip over the weekend. We planned the visit to see our friends in Charlotte back in December, when Waverly was 5 months old. The drive is about 6 hours long, so we figured that by the time she was 8 months, we wouldn’t have as much to pack and that she could handle her car seat a little better. We were right about one thing. She handled the car like a champ. She slept almost the entire time – most likely due to our strategic planning of leaving at her bedtime.

What I could have planned better? The packing situation. I completely underestimated the needs of a traveling family of three, and most likely needed the 6 suitcases pictured on Waverly’s PJs in order to be completely prepared. I was trying to pack smart, rather than bring a U-Haul down the road to greet our hosts. I definitely forgot Waverly’s food (grocery store run), my foundation (um – do you feel my pain?), and hair dryer (thank god for my girlfriend – that could have been ugly. Literally.) I did, however, remember Wave’s pacifier, high chair cover, and my mom’s portable high chair. And also used some of our resources to keep my girl happy. All were effective. 🙂
While definitely different from our previous trips to Charlotte (namely the absence of late-nights downtown), the trip was absolutely perfect and I love everything about our new normal.
Enjoy your week, friends. Four more days until another weekend.
XOXO
Okay, so many things. First of all, your blog is adorable. Second, sweet little Waverly is beyond precious. And I love the name Waverly Maye!!!!! Love it! And yes, traveling with a baby = lots of suitcases. I wish I could tell you it gets easier/lighter when they’re a toddler, but that’s not so true. Then you have to pack tons of clothes (toddlers get dirty), toys, snacks, sippy cups, things to entertain them on the car ride, etc. It’s fun, though! Those pictures are darling. That pretzel is almost bigger than she is! And that little crocheted hat? So cute!
Love your blog!
THANK YOU so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! Haha – I was thinking that it may just get harder! These little ones come with a lot, huh?!! Thanks again for stopping by and looking forward to following your blog! 🙂
