Mother’s Day Wish List

If baby girl sticks to the plan, Mother’s Day will be our last official holiday as a family of three!  I am really excited to celebrate all the moms in my life, last year we were out of town for my sister’s graduation & didn’t get to see everyone on the actual holiday.  My mom, mother-in-law, & grandmother all live close to us, and Waverly adores them, so we are definitely planning to go all out this time!
As for me, I know its almost been three years, but sometimes I am still caught off-guard that I am actually old enough to be a mom.  Yet now that I’m about to have two kids, it’s more legit than ever, so I might as well take advantage of the holiday, right?!  My hubby asked me the other day what I had been wanting (happy wife, happy life!), so honey, if you are reading, here are a few things I have had my eye on as of lately.  You can take your pick. 😉
Bathing Suit, Birkenstocks, Vases, Pillow, Book
Bathing Suit – I love that both my babies will have summer birthdays, both my husband & I do too, and summer is such a fun time to celebrate in general!  What I am not looking forward to is somehow fitting my postpartum body into a swimsuit, hashtag – itsnotgoingtobepretty.  I was able to avoid it with Waverly since she was born at the end of July, I know that’s not going to be the case this time since it will be a couple months earlier & we have a toddler who loves water (and will definitely still need to be entertained!).  The good news is that I already embraced the one-piece last year, there are a ton of cute options out there that provide extra coverage for bending down after your babes or because your stomach just isn’t even close to being back to normal.  Other than the one above, I also love this one & this one (on sale!).
Birkenstocks – I know that these are one of those trends that you either love or hate, but I confess, I am dying for a pair!  I recently got a pair of knock-offs from Target in gold, they are the most comfortable shoes ever & I want to wear them every single day.  Plus, they allow for swelling! 😉
Vases – I feel like I am in “nesting” mode all the time just in general anyways, so pregnancy is really sending me over the edge!  I have already cleaned every corner & closet in the house (like really, nothing is safe!), and now am on to restyling our mantle & entryway table.  I love these vases, they are so simple and sweet at the same time.
Pillow –  I have the biggest obsession with pom-poms & tassels right now, both in fashion and interior design.  They somehow just make everything more fun!!  I wear a ton of color all the time, but when it comes to picking out things for the house, I tend to stick to neutrals.  I really want to add some pops of color without being over the top, & am loving this pillow for our living room!
Book – Other than the books on growing to a family of four I read recently, I seriously don’t remember the last time I read something just for fun.  I love Molly Simms, both her style & that she is a new mom of two, so I definitely think this would be a good read … possibly during some late-night nursing sessions I have in my future?!
And just for fun, a picture of my little dancer during our donut date before her class this weekend!  She is loving dance so much, we both look forward to it!  My favorite part is when all the little girls run out to reunite with their mamas, they are so excited & Waverly practically knocks me down each time with a hug when she sees me! 🙂  Her “first recital” is in June, I might just die from the cuteness.
Happy halfway through the week!
XO

Loving that floral swimsuit – you could definitely rock that, sweet friend! I just purchased my first one piece, and am still getting used to the idea after years of wearing just bikinis. And like you, there are definitely still days where I can't believe I'm a mom, much less a mom of two. Seeing my two littles in their car seats for the first time was a big reality check for me for some reason. I guess because my car is now full??? Who knows. But surreal indeed!

Ah, I can't wait for dance lessons! 🙂 You make me so excited to be a girl mom!! I have owned Birkenstocks since high school, and they are worth every single penny. I have the clogs that I wear in the winter, and they are the best with a pair of wool socks. 🙂 PS I think we are all switching to the one-piece this summer!! I may even just stick to work out clothes…yikes! 🙂
