Mom Confessions

Reading other mama’s confession posts are some of my favorites, probably because 99.9999% of the confessions I can completely relate to.  And it’s been forever since I shared some of my own, so I thought today was the day!!!  Enjoy, my friends!

1 – We had a date night the other night that started at Target to restock on diapers and ended with us home and back in bed by 9pm, and it was GLORIOUS.  Sleep is just a really big priority for me, so even though I love a good date night, I don’t love losing out on sleep when I know I have two precious little alarm clocks coming for me in the morning.  Please tell me I’m not the only one.  Maybe one day we will go get dinner past 6:30 pm, but today is not that day.

2 – Speaking of Target, at least a few of the employees at both of the two Target stores we go to know both my girls by name.  Embarrassing but completely true.  The only person I know who loves going more than I do is none other than Miss Waverly Maye, and Avalon Elle is quickly becoming a close second.  They are my favorite shopping buddies, way better than my husband.  Honey, I love you more than life but I did not love when you googled the first item I picked up the other night to find where you could find it cheaper.  Total fun killer.

3 – We recently bought a new car, and though I had 100% intentions of officially becoming a mini-van mom, we ended up with a large SUV instead.  I still love the idea of them – and am forever jealous of those of you who have sliding doors – but after test driving it, I just couldn’t do it. Never say never, but for now, we are loving the big SUV, it has three rows and lots of room and my husband is VERY happy with my decision. 😉

4 – I talked a big game that I was going to make Waverly finish the soccer season even though she didn’t really love it (to teach her all the wonderful life lessons, like always finishing what you start), and we totally quit a few months back.  So yes, we are soccer drop-outs … and I don’t even feel bad about it.  After a month of tears on top of tears, mainly over the soccer “costume” she didn’t like (totally my kid), we decided it just wasn’t worth it.  She still adores ballet so much and that’s pretty much her favorite day of the week, so I’m calling that a win and saving the $100 of cleats & practice clothes for Avalon, because she has to love it, right?!

5 – I can’t remember the last time I worked out.  I used to work out daily before I got pregnant with Waverly, a few times a week before I got pregnant with Avalon, which has turned into ummm, no times a week now.  I just can’t seem to figure out where to fit it into our schedule, before school is a big hell no, after school I just want to get to the girls ASAP, and at night after they go to bed is an even bigger hell no than early.  So I’ve just decided it is what it is, I will have allll the time in the world one day when my kids are older and then, I will probably just whine about having to work out because I have nothing else better to do.

6 – I am SO freaking over the winter and the cold and all the things that come with it.  As soon as our snowstorm came & left, we were ready for sandals and pretty floral dresses.  Is that too much to ask?

Wishing you all a happy week ahead! XO

OMG I love this!!! All of it. And I love/hate your husband for googling where you could find whatever you bought cheaper because Seth would TOTALLY do the same. Ugh. Fun haters!

I never find the time to work out either….and I pretty much don't care about it, except for the fact that I've gained ten pounds….so possibly not the best decision, lol.

I'm so glad we're headed into a new month that is closer to spring! January is such a drag.

OMG your husband did not do that! What a total joy killer is right! Target is the best and oh so dangerous!!

Well, this was fun. All I have to say is life will change; children will grow up you'll have different date nights but your husband still may take the fun out of shopping (or he'll come around). Your daughters have beautiful names.

Yes, to all of this. When we have date nights we are totally home and in bed before 10pm. Sleep always, always wins!
I laughed out loud that your husband googled cheaper prices than Target. That is EXACTLY what my husband would do (and does). Why can't the guys just let us love Target and leave it at that?

Haha I'm with you on the gym! Noah is very adamant against going into the babysitting room even with his friends going. And I have so many things on my list to do during the 9 hours he's in school. I keep telling myself I'll get into a routine once he's in real school… we'll see 😉
