Lucky Link-Up & Shamrock Styles

Today marks exactly one week until St. Patricks Day & we are getting way too excited our way!!
In honor of the holiday, some of my very favorite bloggers are hosting a Lucky Link-Up & we are honored to join in on the fun!  The guidelines are simple, just make a St. Patricks Day themed recipe, share it on your blog, & then you will be paired with another blogger to make theirs.  The results will be shared next Monday.  More details can be found here, thanks to the hosts of this super fun link-up!!

I have never claimed to be a good cook.  I just don’t have the patience to see a recipe to the end & even when I start out with the best of intentions, I usually lose focus about halfway through & end up on the floor playing puzzles with Waverly instead (assuming the food will turn out by some small miracle).  It almost never does, I somehow managed to mess up boxed pasta salad & a vegetable medley last week.
I know, my poor husband.  Good thing Waverly is going through a turkey & cheese phase this week.  That I can handle. 🙂

Yet I have always loved to bake, boxed recipes of course, so my total claim to fame is a dozen Betty Crocker cupcakes with the cutest sprinkles on top.  Baking has become one of my very favorite things to do with Waverly, she loves to do whatever mama does lately (melt my heart), & whenever we are in the kitchen she will point to the leopard chair she knows I let her stand on until I haul it over for her to join me.  It really makes kitchen time much more fun & not to mention, having her assistance totally helps my explanation of why baking from scratch with a one-year old is just not even an option. ðŸ˜‰

For our sweet St. Patricks Day treat, we went with Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispy Treats.  After obviously turning to Pinterest for an idea, they literally had bright green shining lights on them since I had a major addiction to cereal (specifically Fruity Pebbles) while pregnant with Waverly.

They were super easy to make & only need three ingredients … a box of fruity pebbles, a bag of mini marshmallows & 1/4 cup of butter. Mix the marshmallows & butter together, melt in the microwave at 30 second intervals & then mix once fully melted.  Add in the cereal, mix together & put in a 9X30 inch pan.  Once they are cool, use a shamrock cookie cutter if you want to make them extra festive!!  Plus, doing it that way leaves plenty of extras so you can secretly stuff your face with them (defending my love for a kids cereal made of pure sugar was so much easier when I had the pregnant card to pull).
In terms of fashion, St. Patricks Day styles are extra-special to us redheads & we look forward to it every year!! Green is one of our favorite colors to wear & I can’t wait to cover Waverly Maye in it over the next 7 days.  I found this giant green, sparkly bow at Gymboree a couple of weeks ago & really couldn’t think of anything more perfect for my little lady leprechaun.

Like usual lately, I had to pair it with pops of gold which is a still a major go-to for almost all of Waverly’s (& my own) outfits.  Yet for sure, my favorite, favorite accents are the silly faces she has been picking up lately.  Favorite.age.yet. 🙂

We hope that you had the best weekend & have a lovely week!
XOXO
