Loving Lately

Spring has sprung and there is so much to love out there right now!!!!  I am always first drawn to everything bohemian, light and airy year round, so I think spring might just be my favorite since it lends itself so well to all of that.  Sharing some current fashion finds today, both for mama, babe, and the home!

I pretty much live in jean shorts and shirts all spring & summer, so I’ve been eyeing a few tops to add to my closet!  I love this one, which is majorly on sale and so versatile.  Also so excited about these, I’ve been wearing the short-sleeve version all winter with jeans, so comfy and the best colors!

I just got this dress for Waverly, the perfect colors for spring!  Also my favorite shoes EVER for the girls are back, these clogs from Old Navy!!!!  They are seriously so good, I found them in-store a few weeks back and bought them in enough sizes that the girls can wear them for the next couple of years. 😉

Obsessed with this rug from Land of the Nod for the girls playroom.  It’s pricey, but Waverly’s is from there and it’s easily my favorite rug we have ever had.

I just got another watch from Daniel Wellington, I love it so much!!!!  This will be my third, which might sound crazy, but I literally wear one every single day.  I typically don’t wear too much jewelry other than that, and it’s the perfect piece to wear something without feeling like you are wearing too much.

This maxi is the perfect cover up to wear all summer long, perfect for running after kids at the beach or waterpark!

Kids hunter boots are on sale!!!!!!  I picked these up for the girls so quickly, we love them and wear them constantly and these are such a good price!

We recently got this throw from Little Giraffe, and it is amazing.  So beautiful and the girls love cuddling with it, it’s quickly become our favorite throw at the house!

This book, I am dying to read it!  To be honest, I could not tell you the last book I read start to finish (or even magazine), tis’ the season of life I am in!  But I am determined to make time to read again and this would be the perfect start.

And lastly, our little ladies were so sweet tonight before bed.  Avalon’s been having a really hard time letting go of the day and going to bed, so tonight Waverly decided she would rock her.  Avalon literally laid on her while Waverly sang all the songs I always sing to them, goodness it was sweet.  Not all the moments are like that (and many are far from it), but those are the ones I will choose to hang on to.

Hope you are having the best week, friends!

So everyone has been raving about that maxi dress, and I recently tried it on. It was so thin! And draped around the chest. There was no way I could leave the house in it! Is just because I'm pregnant? Because I really wanted it to work, and I wanted it in every color, but no… just no. What bra would you even wear with it?!

The other day Mabel got in trouble and the person she ran to for hugs and comfort was Abigail! I couldn't believe it. It was the sweetest thing I've ever seen…for now :p

Loving Lately

Happy Friday Eve, friends!!!  Anyone else more ready for the end of the week than ever?  We randomly decided to pull out carpet and install hardwood floors in the one room we had without hardwood last weekend, and it’s turned into a much longer project than we anticipated (isn’t that the way it always works?!!).  I am pretty much the worst at dealing with house projects, I love the final product of course but the mess just stresses me out way more than it should.  And of course, watching me keep two kids out of one room in our downstairs because it’s a construction site could be it’s own reality show.  Hoping to finish this weekend and share pictures soon!!! 🙂  In the meantime, I thought a few favorites were in order, most of them warm weather appropriate, because we have spring on the brain over here!

1 – I am loving Target’s spring dresses right now SO MUCH!!!  They all look way more expensive than they are, this one is my favorite, it reminds me so much of one from Anthropologie.  Also, give me all the off-the-shoulder, all the time!

2 – Trolls is currently on repeat at our house, and I have to admit, I love it as much as my girls do!  Waverly & I saw it at the theater when it was out, and now Avalon asks for it just as much as she does.  The music is just so good!

3 – Tis’ the season for Easter baskets!!!!  I love, love, love rounding the girls up some fun things for Easter, a mix of some little things I know they will get excited about and a few things for the warmer weather.  I got this nightlight to go with the whole bunny theme, this new babylit book that releases later this month, and am thinking about a new pair of Hunter boots for Waverly since she has outgrown most of hers and is so obsessed with them!

4 – I hardly ever wear any shoes with height anymore, but I have been eyeing these wedges (a knock-off of the much more expensive version) for spring.  They would be so versatile and I think I might even be able to run after fast little toddlers in them!!!

5 – Sta Body recently sent me one of their bodysuits to try and I have been so happy with it!  The owner is a fellow mama who wanted to design something for the real woman, anyone who has ever given birth to a baby can appreciate that!  The link to the one I have been using is here, you will love it!  Even better, you can get 20% off one now through the 15th, using the code BRICKNER.

6 – I’m getting so excited for bathing suit shopping, mainly for the girls of course!!!  We always stock up on some from Gap & Old Navy during 40% off sales, this is one of my favorites for this season already!

7 – And lastly, I got a new pair of overalls and can’t wait for them to come in!  They look so comfy!  Hoping to get my fix from my own pair since I put some on Waverly the other day and she said, “Mom, these are blue, they are for BOYS”.  I’m pretty sure that will be the last time I convince her to ever wear them again.

Wishing you & yours a very happy Friday and weekend ahead!

hahah love that comment "they're blue these are for boys". I remember the overall trend well and was obsessed with mine. And girl YES I am ready for this weekend for sure! Good luck with the hardwoods!

Target's clothes right now are unreal! I was browsing (as much as one can do with two kids in tow) and was blown away by all their cute stuff!
Um. That bunny night light is adorable. It's been added to my shopping cart!
The blue is for boys comment is hilarious!! Sounds like this house, except, "Pink is for GIRLS, mom!"

  4. March 9, 2017 / 2:59 am

Loving Lately

TGIF, friends!!  I really wanted to thank you for your encouragement on our first trip without Waverly this weekend & also, for relating on our crazy (yet oh so lovable!) toddlers.  Once again, this community is so supportive & I am so thankful!  We are excited to have some time apart from toddler tantrums, runny noses, & bibs, but even more excited to reunite with her belly laughs & impressive dance moves when we get back. 😉
In the meantime, I felt like one of these posts were due, there is so much out there to love right now!

1.  A new donut shop opened about five minutes from our house a few months ago, it has kind of changed our life. 😉  They are those kind of donuts that are hot when you get them & pretty much melt in your mouth, I don’t know if I have ever tasted anything better.  We go at least once a week, yet I do have to (unfortunately) admit that while I take a bite or two, I (sadly) go with the healthy breakfast sandwich option instead.  Way less exciting for sure, but way better for my waistline.  These two, however, take down about half a dozen on their own.  I can’t decide who likes them more.

2.  We still have some work to do before it is complete, but Waverly’s updated, big-girl room is coming together!  I ordered these curtains & am so anxious for them to get here, I know they will make a big difference.  I did end up ordering the black-out panel to put behind them, the ones she has now are like that so I definitely didn’t want to make any major, major changes. 😉

3.  Kind of like I have a shopping addiction, my husband feels the same way about fishing.  Even though Waverly is a girl, he is convinced they have many, many boat dates in their future (I’m sure she will be down).  We randomly took her down to our park for her first fishing adventure the other evening, she was so into it & of course, the first bite came when SHE was holding the pole.  It was too cute, she couldn’t stop staring at the fish & then when we went to throw it back in the water, she said “night, night fishy!”.

4.  Waverly’s eating habits are kind of random & unpredictable lately, some days she eats all day & others, I can’t force her to take a bite.  I decided to try out the lunch in muffin tins idea, she loves it!  We have pretty much been doing this every day for the last couple of weeks, she gets really upset if we use a normal plate!  I’m thinking of using some holiday versions in the upcoming months?!

And I have to share, after a rough few days, Waverly of course melted my heart once again.  I had put her to bed the other night, she layed down, (just like every other night) & was quiet for about twenty minutes.  All of a sudden she started calling for me, which occasionally happens but usually she quickly quiets down.  This time, “mommy” turned to “mommy, come sing to me”, & then “ASHLEY, please sing to me!”.  I mean, how could I resist?  So I held her & sang for about 15 minutes (best 15 minutes ever), then told her that we were all going to sleep so we could be ready for the next day.  She nodded & laid right down to go to sleep, which she did for the rest of the night.  I just couldn’t love her more.

HAPPIEST weekend, everyone!

Heart melting!!!! I die everytime Cam asks for me (even though I think he's learned how to stall)! I think that black out curtains will be in Cameron's bedroom for the rest of his life! I would never dare to do anything different and mess with his sleep. 🙂 I can't wait to see her room once it's done!

    Have a great weekend!! xo

  2. August 22, 2014 / 12:53 pm

That is just about the sweetest story I've ever heard! How did our kids get so big, so fast?!? And I love the donut pic!!!! Have a great weekend, girl!

  3. August 22, 2014 / 1:32 pm

Love those pictures of Waverly with her 1st fish! We haven't attempted to take Liam fishing yet, but I think he may be ready!

  4. August 22, 2014 / 2:39 pm

I admire your self control girlfriend. I can't say no to much of anything ESPECIALLY a donut!!

  5. August 22, 2014 / 4:51 pm

I've been craving a donut alllllll week and you've finally convinced me that I just. need. to. GO!
Love the muffin idea! I need to try that for Mia!

  6. August 22, 2014 / 5:19 pm

I love the pictures of her with the fish! My two big ones went fishing for the first time a few weeks ago, and they loved it! It's such a wonderful way to make memories (as long as I don't have to touch worms or fish!).

  7. August 22, 2014 / 5:21 pm

She cracks me up. How funny that she calls you Ashley when she really wants you. I don't think I could resist either! And her little fishing trip looks like fun, hopefully she enjoys the many more that are to come 🙂

  9. August 22, 2014 / 7:11 pm

so sweet. Kids know when we're at our wits end so they do something super cute to rest the wits end meter…:)

  10. August 22, 2014 / 8:00 pm

such precious photos! and i really need to try this muffin tin thing…Elyse is a fairly decent eater, but I'm always up for new way to broaden her palate!

  11. August 22, 2014 / 9:43 pm

Oh my goodness! "mommy…ASHLEY come sing to me". How cute! And how smart is she. Even though you refer to yourself as mommy, she must hear your husband call you Ashley and she caught on. Smart cookie!
Wavlery's lunch looks just like Mason's! Edamame, cheese, and turkey. The way to his heart 🙂

  12. August 23, 2014 / 1:09 am

OH goodness Ashley!!?? I love it and those donuts! I need a good shop near our new place!!

  13. August 25, 2014 / 12:35 am

How could you refuse such a sweet request!! An awesome donut shop 5 mins away? bad bad news!! delicious and bad!

  14. August 25, 2014 / 6:32 pm

I'm not sure if Avery realizes I have a name other then "mommy", so that's hilarious that Waverly called you Ashley! Love that he insists on taking her fishing, girls can do fun stuff like that with their daddy just as much as boys can 🙂

  15. August 25, 2014 / 7:59 pm

Love the daddy-daughter donut and fishy photos – Waverly must've been stoked to catch a fish! And love those curtains – I need to check that site out!

Loving Lately

Happy Monday, hope you all had a lovely weekend!  We spent ours celebrating mothers day (again) a week late, since we were out of town for the actual day we decided to give it one more round.  I obviously wasn’t complaining, I slept in (until 7:30), had breakfast in bed, & the hubs took care of cleaning the house.  Do you think I could try for round three, I obviously loved every minute!
Here is more of what I am loving lately, my mind has been in constant overdrive lately with so much goodness there is out there!! 🙂

1 – Black & white is my favorite pairing of all time.  I’m positive I’ve mentioned it before, it is my go-to color combo for any season during the year.  We picked up this chevron dress at H&M a couple of months ago for only $4.95, a seriously too good to be true deal (less than a combo meal at Chick-Fil-A, I will take it).  It’s sold out online, but I am also loving these two options from Baby Gap, both are great for the warmer weather!

2 – What is a mini outfit without a mama outfit to match?!  I am not usually into graphics, but couldn’t resist this love tee from Asos.  I kind of love it … & also love Asos, too.  I just discovered the website a few months ago, they really have some super cute stuff & the best part, great sales all of the time!  I also have my eye on this dress which would be perfect for summer! 🙂

2 – It’s hard to believe, but Waverly’s second birthday is two months away!!  We are going with a gold theme, I was inspired by this pair of gold polka dot bloomers from SugarPlum Lane.  They are ridiculously cute, if only it was socially acceptable for a grown woman to wear them I would so rock those the day of her party with her.  Details to come, I was a little offended when my husband didn’t want to have a discussion about the logistics of the party last night at dinner (he said something about not needing to plan a July party in the middle of May?!), so I will vent my party planning here.

3 – Speaking of Waverly’s party, I have been working with Tiny Prints for her invite & they introduced me to their sister company, Treat.  It’s basically greeting cards that you can customize with your own pictures, I love this idea!!  I ordered a couple for Waverly’s grandmas for Mother’s Day, they were too perfect & cost the same as a card from the aisle at Target would.
