Organize your kitchen for the new year by decluttering your counter-tops and only leaving out what you need and a few things you love!  Provide treats for your guests like the new Extra® gum 35-stick packages, which you can save 10% on for the entire month of February using the Cartwheel app at Target.

We’ve been in our house for just over two years now & though there are still approximately 8954 items on the to-do list, we are slowly getting around to making it our own, a place that we not only love but functions well for our growing family.  I thought it would be fun (and helpful!) to share how we organize our kitchen, since of all places that’s definitely where we spend most of our time.

A little background on our kitchen, the white cabinets & big white sink were there when we bought it and I love them both. I have always been drawn to white in a kitchen and few things make me quite as happy as bathing both our girls in that sink, it’s saved many long winter mornings when we just needed something for extra entertainment!  The wood pallet back splash was something my husband put in when we did our wall (in the room that connects to our kitchen).  He thinks it’s too much so close to the other room but I am all about it, I love how they match and also, give me all the wood pallets, all the time.  The stainless steel appliances we added last winter so really the last “big” thing we have left to do is counter-tops.  We really love the idea of butcher block but think that will be too much rustic with the pallets and also are nervous about resale value with those, so we are thinking a granite in possibly a grey.  Or tan.  Any ideas are welcome. 🙂

So organization!  I hate clutter & am definitely a “less is more” kind of girl, so I tend to be very selective when it comes to what we have on our counters.  I try to go with a little bit of pretty and a little bit of function, and love to switch it up throughout the year based on the holiday or the season.

I always try to keep fun treats or seasonable snacks in our glass canisters, and I recently added these new Extra® gum 35-stick packages, which I love myself since they are great to pop in your mouth rather than a cookie or a cupcake. 😉  The new packages are durable and in a recycled case that has more gum which is perfect for sharing with our friends or family who stop by.  I also like to keep a pack in my diaper bag!

You can find the Extra® gum 35-stick packages in the checkout line at Target, be sure to pick up a pack to organize your own kitchen!  It’s as easy as: 1) declutter, 2) select color scheme, & 3) add personal touches like your favorite gum.

Wishing you all a happy, happy Tuesday!  XO

Love your kitchen (and the backsplash)! We have white cabinets and a black counter (that the previous owner put in). While I LOVE our kitchen, I would have chosen gray granite over the black, though my husband would have chosen the black counters if he had the choice. So maybe it's best we didn't choose ;). And my husband is obsessed with that gum. Right now we stock up on it at Costco cause he goes through it so fast. I chewed more gum when I was working and sitting at a desk all day. So true that it's better to grab a stick of gum than another snack!

Your kitchen is lovely! And I never would have noticed your countertops until you mentioned it. If you wanted to leave them forever you totally could!!

Your kitchen is beautiful – and that backsplash is to die for! We bought our house newly remodeled, but we hate the maple color of the cabinets. We're planning to strip them and paint them white because we have dark granite and darker floors, too! Seriously – I'm taking notes!

I love white in a kitchen too. And I'm SO in love with you backsplash. Please tell your husband it's gorgeous (I'm sure you already have a million times!)

Your kitchen is lovely! And gum is so nice to have to pop something in your mouth that isn't a cookie – totally agree there. Aria finds bubble blowing particularly entertaining.

I have white upper cabinets and dark gray lower cabinets, with a black granite counter top. I love it! Great idea to keep the Extra 35-stick packages out on the counter; readily accessible! #client

I LOVE the backsplash. I want to see some farther away pictures of your kitchen now. It looks so pretty!

I love your backsplash, wood walls are my favorite (hence Jude's bedroom wall!)! We are trying to come up with a backsplash idea for a desk area in our kitchen, maybe I should just do a wood wall there too!
