We had the most incredible weekend, one of those that you never want to end & also, that you need another one right after to recover from. π It really was the most fun, the weather could not have been better & it was the perfect start to what I know is going to be one memorable summer.

I’m pretty sure my smile running out of work Friday afternoon was even bigger than the one Waverly gets going down the slide lately. And that is saying something, the slide brings my girl some serious smiles. π We were very ready for a three-day weekend, & kicked it off with a fro-yo date followed by one at the park. Waverly was obsessed with another little girl she met on the jungle gym, she named her “Mimi” & kept repeating it while giving her the biggest hugs ever. The girl’s name was Catherine & she was 3, luckily she was also as sweet as can be & let Waverly give her a new name for the entire afternoon.
Waverly has been asking for “Mimi” ever since, her & “Bobby” get way more conversation time than anyone else lately. Oh, how I love this child (& her imagination)!

We spent the majority of our weekend grilling out with loved ones, eating, drinking & celebrating entirely too much. Just the way warm weather weekends should be, right?! Waverly had an absolute blast, she loved every minute of all the extra people to entertain her & obviously, decided not to nap because she didn’t want to miss a thing. By late Sunday afternoon, we debated leaving her at home with our in-laws rather than taking her to another cookout. I was convinced she would breakdown at any moment from major lack of sleep yet ultimately, we took her & she partied like a rock star.
I’m sure I’ll regret it when Waverly decides to never nap again, but at the time it was well-worth it.
In food news, I was really excited to attempt to expand my cooking skills with a new side dish this weekend. I’m starting to think that the boxed pasta salad I’ve been showing up with for a few years now is really getting old. I saw this recipe on
Natalie’s blog a couple of weeks ago, I love a cold dish in the summer & this
corn salad seemed easy enough. It was super delicious, we made it for two seperate cookouts & it was a hit at both.
Lastly, I couldn’t resist a festive brunch for our little family on Sunday morning before we hit the beach. These “mini” waffles are perfect for toddler fingers, they are a go-to for Waverly’s breakfast each day. Sometimes she just sucks the syrup out of them, but most days, we consider them a win! She also loves strawberries & blueberries, watermelon was a favorite last year but this time, she said “EW!” if they were anywhere near her plate. Toddlers. π

.
Overall, such a great weekend full of “little” moments & memories that I know will last forever. I just keep thinking that these are the days, I don’t think life can get much better than this. π

She is so precious chowing down on those berries! You can tell she had the best time! Such a fun tradition…I remember picking strawberries with my grandmother every year π
Aw, love that!!!! And that you remember! π
These pictures are so fun to look at! I have always wanted to go strawberry picking. We have done blueberries and veggies here in Alaska, but sadly no strawberries. One day. I am sure my kiddos would love it π
Right now Noah's favorite fruit is strawberries so I can't wait to take him strawberry picking too! These pictures are great! Waverly seems like such a fun kid… but would probably tire me out if I had to chase her that much π
SO excited to enter this giveaway… now that I know I am having a little GIRL it's all tutus and hair bows from here on out!!!! I love your pictures, that looks like SUCH a fun day!

Yay, she will love it!!!!! XO
She looks adorable sitting in the patch eating her berries! So cute!
I love all her facial expressions! When I visited my boyfriends brother and his kids in Virginia Beach we actually went to the Strawberry Festival down there. It was so much fun! But not as fun as actually picking them!
I love that you let her dig in! The pictures with juice running down her chin are so sweet! π
What a cutie pie! Of course there is no way anyone could be mad that she ate strawberries before they were weighed — she's just such a darling little girl! I can't wait to take Owen strawberry picking.
Who doesn't try the strawberries before they are weighed? She is priceless and a total DOLL. Love her and those overalls! We're planning a trip this weekend if the sun comes out to play π
So stinkin' cute π I can't wait til Kiernan's juuuuust a little older because I know she will totally dig something like this. Those pics are so precious <3
I love her outfit and that belt with the overalls….

The overalls are amazing!! She is seriously the cutest thing ever!!
I keep meaning to do this with my kids, just need to get out and do it. Those pictures are so cute! Can't wait to make someone a cute tutu and sandals!
I wish we had something like this around here. Maybe we do and I just havenβt looked hard enough. But, Iβd love to take Mason to a strawberry patch. And in true Waverly fashion β sheβs wearing the perfect outfit. Too cute! You captured this trip so great in pictures.
She is the perfect little strawberry child, and her overalls… I die! She looks like she's having so much fun chomping down on the berries! I can't wait to take Scarlett Strawberry picking this summer!
My nephews go cherry picking out here. I can't wait to join them next year (with a matching cherry outfit ensemble of course!)
I LOVE toddler made up words. Especially only the ones mama can understand π It's part of a special club for sure!
The overalls. Kill me now. I love em.
The joy on Waverly's face is palpable in these pictures. What a fun memory! So, so sweet!
Love her festive overalls!!!! So appropriate!! Sadly we missed strawberry season but had a lovely day with blackberries today! Looks like she had an absolute blast!!
oh man Aria went strawberry picking last year before she could walk and we had so much fun, I really wanted to go this year we just couldn't make the times work. sigh. I think blueberries are going on though so maybe the stars will align for that. Aria sure does love blueberries. The overalls are the cutest as are those red stained fingers and lips =)
These pictures are just priceless…the overalls, the red hands…I love it all!!! And Arden has a few made up words in her vocab too–for the longest time, mac & cheese was "tattoo". Say what?!?! π
TOO CUTE! We have a strawberry farm that we can go to here, but I've never taken Mason for fear that he will just roam free and face plant into the strawberry bushes. Or maybe I'm being dramatic, but I'm sure he would run free for sure. Looks like you guys had the BEST time and Waverly looks SO HAPPY to be eating the strawberries!!
Oh my gosh – I can't handle the cuteness of ther little outfit (perfect!), and how much she enjoyed eating those berries! What a perfectly fun little trip.
Ahh.. my whole long reply disappeared! lol! Anyhow these photos are to die for! Well worth any stains! Miss Waverly seems to have grown up overnight! I'll need to check if our local working farm has something similar right now! Looks so fun! Waverly and Kaitlyn are so similar – just go, go, go all the time! Happy Monday!
