It’s The Little Things: Waverly Lately

If I’m honest, the whole two-year old status scared me a little bit.  We have all grown up hearing about the “terrible two’s” & something told me that Waverly would not be exempt, among many things, she is opinionated, strong-willed, & knows exactly what she wants.  Fast forward to now, with Waverly two months from two & a half, there is no doubt that this is my favorite age yet.  There have been so moments recently that I have just wanted to freeze time at this exact age, she is so much fun, so smart, & most of all, incredibly loving.  As always, I am obsessed with her & this little person she is becoming more everyday.

I can’t even believe how much Waverly can say now (or how witty she is), just when I think I have heard it all, she comes up with something else to crack us up.  She is constantly talking, which everyone says she gets from me, so the two of us rarely are quiet together, ever.  When we sit down to dinner every night, she says “soooooooo, how was your day?”.  It is the sweetest, one of my favorite moments that we get to spend together & I always look forward to it.
She loves so many things, but mostly our dog who she calls a “good boy” & her “best friend”.  It took a little while for her to understand why he can’t come with us to the grocery store or to the mall, but now she gives him a hug before we leave while “explaining” to him why he can’t come.  She is so good to him, making sure she pours his food so he can eat at the same time we do & obviously, sneaking him her food between bites.  Second to only the dog, she loves her babies, lines them up & takes care of them every single day.  I walked in her holding one in the corner in a time-out the other day, counting “1, 2, 3 … .”  She forgets nothing. 😉
Lately she has an obsession with school buses, we watch the kids get off the bus on our street everyday & she loves it.  She always tells me she wants to go to school, on the bus, which is way too much for my mama heart to even think about right now.  I told her I would miss her too much, she said “mommy, I will see you tomorrow, ok?.”  She still watches me drive from the house each morning to school, she waves so fiercely & while it is never easy leaving, knowing that she understands where I go makes it much more bearable.
Almost all of Waverly’s favorite activities involve moving, she loves to dance, to sing, & is always laughing.  Just like since she was a baby, she loves being outside, it is her happy place & she can entertain herself for hours.

We have our moments, but at the end of the day (everyday), we tell each other how much we love each other & there is no better feeling than that.  She has forever changed me, the one who made me a mama, & I feel so lucky to keep her forever.

Her personality always sounds just like Liam! He is obsessed with school busses too and will also tell me he's doing homework when he's coloring… Something he picked up from the neighbor kids. Too cute!

Noah's only been two for a few weeks and I think it's amazing watching them become a person. I think that's why we think it's terrible sometimes because when they are a person their opinions and wants won't always mimic ours ;). Glad you are enjoying her!

she's adorable. How old will she be when you're due? I got pregnant when my girl was 18 months. I'm loving their age difference. He's 16 months now and she's almost 3 1/2.

Oh Waverly is soooooo adorable!! I wish we could have play dates!
I really love how loving they are at this stage! Yesterday as we were waiting in line to check out at the grocery store, Mia kept wrapping her hands around her neck and patting as she laid her head on my shoulder. Every once in awhile she would pop up and look at me, smile then say "Oooooooh!" and hug me again. MELT MY HEART!
Where did you get Waverly's top? I actually have on similar and would LOVE to match Mia, because I'm crazy like that 😉

Oh… swoon!! I have to admit I LOVE this age too! I was so terrified of the "terrible two's" which you clearly read what we went through right after baby boy came home. I can honestly say though (as I am knocking on wood) Charli's terrible twos happened due to bringing another baby in the house, but it only lasted 2 weeks. She is INCREDIBLE now! Oh how I love the things she says and how much fun she is! Charli is also obsessed with school buses! haha! Every morning on the way to school we made it a game as to how many we could spot! I wish sweet Waverly and Charli could be friends and then our little babes would be friends, and we could drink, and the hubby's could drink! haha! We can dream right?! 😉

" Sooo How was your day?" Really? Omg I die! It will be so fun when my little starts to converse with me. My momma always said she looked forward to that the most with me especially during car rides! Such a sweet girl! xoxo

She is so adorable. I can't get over how sweet she is. Time goes so fast, it will be so much fun soaking up these moments before her baby sister comes, then watching the two of them together will be just precious.

I'm so glad that the two's haven't been quite as terrible as you thought:) I'm thinking Caleb started his a bit early (with just being strong-willed and showing his opinion), so maybe his won't be as bad as everyone says either! Love little Waverly and am so excited for her to be a big sister. She'll be the perfect age, and will such a sweet little mama to them just like she is to the dog and her baby dolls!:)

I feel like at 18 months we've already hit the terrible twos stage, Savanna is always moving, never sitting still and knows exactly what she wants.

    Waverly is just perfection!

she's so precious! I don't feel like we ever really had the terrible 2's…but all of my momma friends have said the 3's are much worse! And here I am, bringing a newborn into our house right before Elyse turns 3! However, everything is just a season and I know there are going to be things about the 3's that I absolutely love!
