Holiday Traditions

It’s hard to believe that we are well into the holiday season, or that Christmas is only 17 days away.  Crazy!  We brought out our elf on the shelf again this year & without a doubt, Waverly is more into it than ever before.  She’s named her “Feesbie”, which was one of the suggestions in the book, which we read every.single.night!  So far we’ve just moved her around to random places throughout the house, nothing crazy, but I did manage a breakfast made by Feesbie when I had off last week.  Waverly thought it was pure magic. ๐Ÿ™‚
For the record, my child is not the biggest rule-follower ever.  If you know the elf on the shelf story, you know that no one is supposed to touch the elf.  Waverly has touched her no less than 20 times already, despite the fact that we’ve told her that Feesbie reports back to Santa.  Girl likes to test her limits, and I’m totally screwed. ๐Ÿ˜‰
We also decked our halls with our new REAL tree!  Bringing out ornaments is definitely a highlight of the holidays for me, my family has an ornament exchange every year and I also exchange with friends, so it’s so much fun to bring them out and remember the meaning behind each of them.  Waverly absolutely loved pulling out each one, she kept saying “Mom, this one is gorgeous!, and “Are you so excited to see the next?”.  Both girls loved the lights, it was pure chaos and I had to pretty much redo everything on my own once they went down for a nap, but it made for cute pictures!  And sweet memories.

Even though this year we are a little more sleep-deprived than the past couple seasons, and doing little things like these are definitely more of a challenge, they are so very important to me.  I hope my kids will grow up loving these traditions & will look back on their childhood with the best memories just like I do.  No doubt, this will be our most magical holiday season yet. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a very merry week, friends!

Love that Waverly is so into her elf–maybe not so much with the testing of limits, but that's ok ๐Ÿ™‚ The pictures of those two tangled in the lights is my favorite! So stinkin cute!

I love the idea of the Elf Holiday Breakfast. Although we are not doing the Elf this year, I think a cute Christmas breakfast will be so much fun. I'm trying to plan for a Saturday before Christmas. I need to hit up Pinterest for some ideas. Your little girls are adorable!

Aw, two super duper cuties!! Cam told me, "Fred (our elf) is just a stuffy." Oops!! He's helping to keep Cam in line a little….but Cam is TOTALLY a rule pusher, too. Let's not ever get these two together because I am sure we will be in over our heads!!

Sweet, sweet sisters. Laughing that little Miss loves to touch the elf! I can only imagine how hard that rule would have been to follow if elf on a shelf was around when we were little…ahh!

A much holiday fun! And too funny about Wavey touching the elf! Liam wouldn't dare! One day our cat attacked our elf so to set him back up I had to use things so I wouldn't touch him, ha!

Oh the chaos, seems to be the norm these days, but it's wonderful and memorable. Tyson's first suggestion for the elf's name, through random hollering, was 'ganja'. HA, wtf?! We decided to brainstorm a little more..

Mason is not the best rule-follower ever in general. But, heโ€™s managed to keep his hand off of our elf so far. He just wants โ€˜so bad to hug himโ€™. So I told him he could hug him on the last day before he flies to the North Pole! Ha. We have a real tree this year too. Thereโ€™s nothing quite like a real tree. They smell so amazing. And I like how no two are quite the same. I love that you took these pictures from up top! Great angle and such sweet memories.
