Another weekend, come & gone, and here we are in October!!!! If only the weather would get the memo … 😉 It’s been a little warmer than we would prefer, and less than fall-like here, but we are making the most of it and trying to remember that in a few months, we will be begging for these kinds of activities back.
September was a busy month for us. We all had to adjust to a completely new schedule with both Waverly & me back to school, but so far, so good!!! Waverly LOVES school so much, we are back to the evening theatrics of her playing teacher and pretending all of her dolls are her students, it’s just my favorite to listen to. I still can’t believe she will be in kindergarten next year at this time, the plan is for her to go to school where I teach, just thinking about her there with me next year just gets me so, so excited!!! I think that will make the reality that she is actually old enough for all of that much easier.
We also started back to dance. Also known as my workout for the week, since I have to figure out how to keep Avalon from breaking into the ballet & tap room, she is literally dying to hang with the big girls. She would totally start right now if she could, she wants to do anything & everything Waverly does (both the good and the bad), and big sister wants to teach her all of it.
This week Waverly decided they were going to share a room, begged me for hours to let her paint it and transfer Avalon’s crib in there, made a list of the toys she thought her sister would like to move in with her, and then had a complete meltdown when I wouldn’t let it actually happen. Never a dull moment!
Hope you all had the most amazing weekend and HAPPIEST OCTOBER!
It’s so crazy hard to believe that October is here, but we are embracing it. And excited for it. It is little miss Avalon Elle’s first Halloween and it just warms my holiday-loving heart to think about celebrating with her and for the first time as a family of four.
I feel like I’m usually more on top of my holiday game by this point, like I’m pretty sure Waverly’s costume was already done & hung in her closet by this time last year
, but I guess that’s what happens when the amount of children you have doubles. 😉 I am finally getting together details for the girls Halloween costumes this week & am so excited to see them come together, yet probably should have taken the easier route and listened to Waverly when I asked her what she wanted to be and she said, “purple”.
So our fall bucket list! Despite it not really feeling like fall yet, another round of sicknesses being passed around the house, & the girls naps not overlapping in weeks (someone teach me your ways on that one!), we have been busy. And having so much fun! We took the girls on a hike, most people would probably call it a long walk, but there were lots of trees & we were in the woods, so I’m going with the hike thing. It just sounds so much better, right?!
We have also been watching college football every Saturday, if you haven’t caught it before we are BIG Alabama fans – ROLL TIDE! 🙂 They haven’t had the best start to the season but we are holding strong, my dad promised he would buy the girls some new headbands if they won so it’s safe to say we are cheering extra hard.
I also threw all good judgement out the window & let Waverly paint a pumpkin in our family room since it was raining outside. She is all about painting and crafts these days, especially if they involve her “favorite color in the whole wide world, purple”, so she had the best time. After about twenty minutes the entire pumpkin was covered, along with her & the mat, I wanted to freak out about how I was going to clean up the disaster while holding Avalon but couldn’t when she looked up & said, “mommy, is it the most beautiful pun-kin patch you have ever seen?” Absolutely.
Next up on the list is obviously a trip to the pumpkin patch, which we are hoping to do sometime very soon if the weather cooperates! Hoping to share pictures soon, and of course, wishing you all the happiest of Octobers with your sweet families! XO
