Happy Easter Weekend!

Happy Good Friday to you all!!  I just wanted to stop in with a few highlights of our week, holiday weeks are always my favorite & this one was good.  So, so good!  Full of fun and lots of firsts for Miss Avalon Elle, including her first time sitting with the Easter bunny and her first time wearing bunny-print leggings.  Both obviously so very important.  We also had Waverly’s party at school, Avalon & I got to join in on the fun and as always, it was so much fun to be able to see her in her element.  And following directions so well. πŸ˜‰
THESE are the moments my friends, right?!

Yes, that is only one sister sitting on the bunny’s lap.  Waverly was not having it, not even close to having it, so we let her stay in the stroller & watch from afar.  She literally pulled the top of the stroller over her and refused to even show her face.  I’m thinking she might sit on his lap once she hits middle school.  Maybe.

We also made treats this week!  Waverly & I made cupcakes while we let Avalon play with Easter eggs in her high chair, baking is one of my favorite things to do with her.  I put the finished product in my favorite ceramic egg carton, with edible green grass.  Have you guys seen it, it’s adorable and of course, from Target! πŸ™‚

Wishing you all the happiest, most beautiful weekend with your loved ones!!! XO

PS!  I posted some potty-training tips yesterday afternoon, if you are in need of something like that, here is the post.

PPS!  I got ready this morning & Waverly Maye said, “Omg!  Mom, you look FABULOUS!  Just like Anna & Elsa.”  And I just had to document that, because I don’t know if I have ever gotten a better compliment.  Ever.

Love the pictures by the fence! Adorable. Avalon on the Easter bunny a lap is so sweet and the fact that Waverly wasn't having it is such life with a preschooler. Have a wonderful Easter.

haha – Waverly's compliment – too sweet! For sure needed to be documented. And why and how did I not see that edible Easter grass while at Target the other day?! that would have been so perfect for cupcakes – like what you all did with it. Maybe next year… Also, those bunny leggings are too stinking adorable! All the heart eyes. Happy Easter!

Those girls have THE cutest outfits. Can you come dress me?!
Haha – Waverly! That bunny kind of scares me, too. I don't blame her one bit.
Hope you and your family had the best Easter!

Avalon is so brave for sitting with the bunny! And I totally laughed out loud when I read that Waverly put the shade down on her stroller! I guess she really wasn't having it!!

Happy Easter Weekend!

TGIF!!  This week seemed like it would never end, obviously because it was my last before spring break & that’s how it always goes when you are waiting for something, right?!  We did have some highlights, I pulled off the best April Fools joke in the history of my relationship with my husband. πŸ™‚  It was just too good of an opportunity to pass up, (thanks Jessica for the idea!), I couldn’t resist & called to tell him my water broke.  He totally went for it, freaked out & screamed at me to get off the phone to call the doctor.  It was so wrong & oh so right all at the same time, hoping it doesn’t bring me any bad karma in the weeks to come. πŸ˜‰

Waverly & I dyed Easter eggs, she loved it and it was the biggest mess ever, both predictions I had going into it!  I tried putting the egg in the whisk like last year, only now that she is a little older & wiser, she pulled it right out within seconds.  Half of the eggs ended up broken, so we opted for decorating paper instead, overall a fun memory but thankful we have another year before that tradition comes around again!!

Our friends & their kids came over for brunch and an egg hunt last weekend, it was such a fun morning celebrating with the little ones!!  My husband was in charge of the egg casserole & I did the sweets, vanilla cupcakes and chocolate-covered pretzels.  I also covered apple juice boxes with paper to make little bunnies, it was easy & fun, such a great idea for anyone who has kids coming over for Easter this weekend!

This was Waverly’s second egg hunt of the year & she loved it just as much as the first, maybe even more now that she knew exactly what to expect.  The weather was chilly but the kids ran all around our backyard, they got so excited opening their eggs even though by the fifth one they found the same exact thing inside.   Just the cutest, mornings like these make me so very happy!

Wishing you all the HAPPIEST holiday weekend with those you love, thanks for your support to our little family all year long!
XO

Bahahaha! I'm so glad you tried the joke and that your husband believed it. Mine didn't for a second so it was a total bummer, ha! Loving the photos from the egg hunt/brunch. Looks like everyone had a great time! Happy Easter weekend, dear friend:)

Oh how wonderfully perfect this all is! My fingers are crossed that the weather holds up here (its supposed to be sunny and 50 but windy) on Easter here… UGH! First time in history of Easters for me that it is COLD… grrr! I just want to enjoy the outside and an Easter egg hunt for Charli! I am super thankful it was nice enough yesterday to snap a few pics of them! Hallelujah! πŸ˜‰ Wishing you and your family the happiest of Easters girlfriend! xoxox (and you are so bad yet HILARIOUS for that April fools joke! haha! priceless!)

  7. April 3, 2015 / 2:05 pm

I can't believe you pulled that prank; hilarious I'm sure! I'm a bit of a sensitive soul so April Fools is not for me! And those bunny juice boxes are too cute! Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Bahaha! Eric would have instantly told me to hang up since it was April Fool's… but I am such a sucker and fall for everyonnnnne's pranks!
I didn't even attempt dying eggs as I knew it would be a disasterous mess, and I let Mia paint a couple instead. That was surprisingly pretty mess free and she LOVED it!
Seriously, funnest brunch and egg hunt ever! I know this weekend is going to be even better for you- and YAY spring break! Finally!!

Well, thank you for preemptively answering my question about whether Mac's old enough to dye eggs. You just saved us a lot of time and clean-up! πŸ™‚ Hope you guys have a lovely Easter weekend!

  13. April 3, 2015 / 7:01 pm

    great prank!! too funny.

Of course Waverly is adorbs…I read about dying eggs with cool whip and food coloring, they have to sit overnight for the dye to kick in but they sounded good – and its not too big of a deal if the kiddos try eating it…I am sure W would be all over that!!!

  14. April 3, 2015 / 8:56 pm

It looks like such a fun little with friends! You are so creative, decorating little juice boxes! I hope you enjoy your Easter weekend and have just as much fun! πŸ™‚

I think we are fore-going the egg coloring this year… As much as I want to do it I just know it will be a massive mess, and my Type-A will kick into full gear the second Marcus wants to dip each egg in every color. πŸ™‚
That picture of Waverly holding up her goods is just too much! Love it!!
    Have a great Easter weekend!

  16. April 4, 2015 / 10:05 pm

We definitely skipped right over the egg dying this year. I'm too much of a chicken to find out what kind of mess Mason would make!
But I'm LOVING how excited Waverly is about finding eggs! She looks like she had a blast. We took Mason this morning and he b-lined it right for the eggs. He knew just what to do this year! So sweet. Happy Easter and Happy Spring Break!

I always look forward to your holiday posts!! Your decor and activities are always the best. Waverly seems so excited!! Happy Easter!!
