Halloween 2015

Happy, happy November!!  I am so very excited for the weeks ahead, & also just a little bit sad that Halloween is officially over.  We had so much fun celebrating this weekend, it’s crazy to think that we have to wait a whole year to do it all over again!

We woke up early Saturday morning to get the house ready, my husband & Waverly went on a donut run since obviously she wasn’t going to have enough sugar the rest of the day. πŸ˜‰  Avalon celebrated by sitting in her high chair for the first time, I didn’t think she would be big enough for it yet but she loved it, almost as much as her big sister loved having her on her level.  The cutest!  We ran some last-minute errands, did yard work and made some treats, but spent the majority of the day attempting to overcome the girls desperate boycott against naps.  Apparently both of them were way too excited about the holiday to sleep, then of course once they finally gave up, they slept so long we had to wake them up to have enough time to get them ready for the night.  And such is parenthood.

I saw these wings last fall when I was newly pregnant, I immediately thought they were too sweet & knew that if we were having a girl, she would be an angel for her first Halloween.  Then a couple months back when I actually got around to ordering them (maybe Waverly Maye was in the midst of a toddler meltdown?!), I decided that it only made sense to make her & Avalon a little duo, with miss Waverly as the devil.  It was too perfect!  My mother-in-law made both girls tutus out of tulle, plus Waverly’s wings, and I ordered Avalon’s headband.  The devil horns and fork were from a party store, and were maybe the worst decision ever.  I’m not sure what made me think it was a great idea to give my three-year old a fork (and tell her she was a devil), but I will definitely be having nightmares about Waverly running around with that thing for years to come.  Let’s just say taking pictures in their complete costumes was a Halloween nightmare, yet we did it!, and you live & you learn! πŸ™‚
Trick or treating was SO much fun, definitely the highlight of our weekend!  We pulled our wagon with Avalon in the bumbo surrounded by a big white blanket to keep her warm, she was so happy the entire time and loved every minute.  Waverly was too cute & hilarious, walking up to each house like she owned it, which was especially funny since she hated trick or treating last year and was scared the entire time.  She told anyone who asked that she was “elsa the devil”, since she had decided at the last-minute she wanted to be elsa.  I definitely soaked in picking her costume this year because there was no doubt it was my last.

And lastly, a picture of Avalon’s wings, that little baby booty is too sweet, this is the image I dreamed of when she was in my belly.  I still can’t believe she is actually here, a little angel for sure!

Hope your holiday was perfect & wishing you a very happy week ahead!
XO

I am kind of sad that Halloween is over, too. But, I am very excited for November. I just hope it doesn’t fly by as fast as October did. I am in love with that black & white table runner and all of your dΓ©cor. Their costumes were precious. And that last picture just melts me.

  24. November 3, 2015 / 3:32 pm

I can't handle all this cuteness! Just perfect!

  25. November 3, 2015 / 6:28 pm

Ok a few things…one-I can totally relate to you on the naps thing…but I don't even dare wake my three year old from one because it never ends well…ever! We usually just end up scrapping plans! πŸ™‚ two-was definitely laughing to myself about the devil fork because I can only imagine that in the hands of a three year old around the baby! (in my house at least!) and three-your little angel took the SWEETEST pictures!! Those smiles are just adorable and seriously…look at her trying to stand!?!?

Love love love this! We did angel/devil last year and it really is the perfect costume for a baby and a toddler! I still call Mac my little devil and he certainly lives up to the name! πŸ™‚
