Garlands & Other Great Things

Happy Monday, friends!!  Another weekend in the books, hope it was a great one for you!  We stayed busy with a few fall activities, once again the weather was beautiful & we loved every minute.  Now that it’s finally feeling like fall, my mind is racing with family picture ideas, fall fashions, & of course, Waverly Maye’s halloween costume.  I think we came up with the perfect idea that couldn’t fit her personality better, can’t wait to share it soon! 🙂

We also started dressing the house for the season, it’s been way too long since the last holiday & we were totally due for some festiveness for our decor.  I ordered this garland a few weeks back, I have decided that I have a garland obsession & I am not sure if it is healthy. 😉  Really, nothing puts me in the holiday spirit more than bright colored tassels hanging from our mantel.  I am in love with the colors in this one & how great it matches with our gold pumpkin trio!

I also picked up a burlap garland in the dollar bin at Target last week, one of my favorite recent finds!!  Target is once again killing it with their fall collection, I wanted to buy everything & then some.  I settled on the garland & a matching burlap pumpkin I found in the seasonal aisle, and will probably go back soon for more. 😉
This fall marks the first time in years that my entire family has been in the same city during the school year.  Like since I graduated high school & left for college thirteen years ago.  A couple years after I left, my brother did, then a few years after he left, my sister left for the same reason.  Now finally, all of us have graduated, moved back home, & all six members of my family are in VB.
Still, life is busy, so a couple weeks ago we started Sunday dinners at my house.  It’s the best thing ever, I’m so glad we can do this again!  The only person who is happier than me about it is Waverly, she waits for them all day Sunday while repeating every single person’s name.  It’s the sweetest, I love that she has them to grow up with!

Best wishes for a fantastic week ahead!

Love the garland, looks so cute!! We are living at my parents while the house is being built and I'm really missing all my fall and Halloween decor, which is all boxed up in storage! Can't wait for next fall so I can decorate again!

Loving Target's $1 section right now as well! Love the little burlap banner!
It stormed all weekend so it finally felt like Fall around here, too! I took advantage and decorated the house yesterday! Too bad it's supposed to be 90 again by tomorrow, ha!

I love that you have Sunday dinners with your family! Most of my family is on the other side of the world and I miss them like crazy. Oh what I would give to see them once a week!

So glad you guys had a great weekend! I am SO ready for Fall this year… Which is completely different from my feelings last year! haha! But I too have already started decorating and thankfully this week is supposed to be in the 70s! WOOHOO!!

Great weekend, family time and gorgeous banners + decor = fabulous post if I do say so myself!! Happy Monday! xoxo

Love the garland! Though Noah would rip it down in a matter if minutes. I bought a Halloween banner and I'm getting scared lol. Family dinners can be fun! Since we live near both sets of family we have to space them out or else we'd never have weekends to ourselves 😉

Love the garland and pretty touches of Fall!! This is the first year me and my brothers are all back home in the same city too and it makes me so happy!! Do you have a trick to storing your garland?? Mine seems to be a mess!

  13. September 22, 2014 / 5:10 pm

    Waverly's shows are adorable!!!

Your Target has way better fall decor than mine does. All I keep finding is junk and I'm like, "where's the good stuff?!" So I keep coming home with gel pens and stickers. Hah.

Target dollar bin?! That little bunting is adorable. Sunday dinner is the best – we do that with the Mr.'s family as we live in the same town. I love that our Little can grow up around cousins/family, that's awesome for you guys too!! 🙂

Love that garland! And the pallet wall!!!!

Sunday family dinners are the best! We don't do it weekly but aim for at least once a month! (If my nieces were better bahaved I'd probably offer to host it more frequently)

Oh girl. I shouldn't have opened this post! I haven't been to Target in forever and a day….but yeah, looks like I need to go. Love your finds!!

  17. September 22, 2014 / 8:04 pm

Target is seriously a dangerous place! Love all your fun finds!

  18. September 22, 2014 / 10:41 pm

Love that garland!!!! Looking forward to seeing what you've chosen for Waverly's costume – I can't wait to put together Beau's little costume!
Super cute pieces from Target – I need to check out their fall collection – although I'm not sure when or where I'll find the time at this point to update a post let alone decorate for fall with my newborn who likes to party all day! (although I get a decent sleep at night so far so I guess I can't complain!! 😉

  19. September 23, 2014 / 3:45 am

Love the tassle garland! I wish I had a mantle to decorate, maybe in my next home 🙂

I also wish we had a (good) target in Canada! I think I may have to make a trip to the states for some fall decor 😉

  20. September 23, 2014 / 4:47 am

I was at Target the other day and seriously had to refrain from buying EVERYTHING! SO HARD!
We have family dinner nights on Sundays too over at my mother-in-laws house with my sister-in-law and her family. We love it and look forward to it every Sunday! So happy you and your family can have that again! xo

  21. September 23, 2014 / 4:56 am

The garland, yes! That burlap banner, yes! And, now I'm off to Target to see if I can't find one or two for myself.
Can't wait to see what Waverly will be for Halloween.
    Happy Monday!

The burlap goodies are to die for! I totally wish I could run to Target like rightthissecond! 😉
And love the green jacket! Where is it from?

Fall is the best season! Super cute! Extra awesome that your family is all together!

  23. September 23, 2014 / 2:02 pm

Ooh I just love that burlap banner & pumpkin! What a score! I never feel like I'm lucky enough to find those goods at Target!

  24. September 24, 2014 / 2:08 am

Sunday dinners! I've always wanted to do something like that, but no family near enough. I told Chris that is why we need 5 kids, which ha yeah right, but purely fictional…5 would make a super duper awesome Sunday dinner mix.

i secretly have a garland obsession too! Looks beautiful tho!
