Happy Friday, friends!!  This week was a really busy one, it was the first week back for teachers, my birthday, and both the girls had their open houses at school!  They are both so excited for next week, but also a little nervous.  Avalon shocked me the other day when she said (out of nowhere) “mama, I’m a little scared for pee-school”, and Waverly keeps trying to figure out how she will do the monkey bars without me there to help her.  Umm, how do moms survive this?! 😉  Luckily though, they both loved their teachers and Avalon actually got upset when the open house was over & she had to leave, so it gave me just the encouragement I needed to be the strong mama bear on Tuesday.  Also, on a side note, if your kids haven’t gone back yet and you are looking for some fun things to do for the first back back, this article I came across has so many cute ideas!
I thought I would kick off the three-day weekend with some of the things I am loving right now.  Fall is such a fun time of year for ALL THE THINGS! 🙂
I just ordered these loafers for school and can’t wait for them to get here.  They will go with everything and most of the reviews on them are so good (I am obsessed with reading all the reviews)!  These leopard ones are equally as amazing, I had such a hard time deciding!
I love this rug so much, as a fun accent over a rug you already have placed or in any space really.  We have another jute rug and it doesn’t show dirt from kids, so that’s a plus as well.

We are ALMOST done with the girls bathroom remodel and I can’t wait to share it soon.  My husband gutted the entire thing and did it all himself, it has been a huge project and I just can’t even explain how good it feels to be able to give the girls a bath again.  Now that most of the big work is done, we are in the decorating phase — I got these stools and love them for any room in the house.

I am having such a hard time finding the girls good shoes for school.  They both (especially Waverly) would rather wear some sort of high heeled dress-up shoes than the kind of easy-to-walk in shoes I know teachers want them to wear.  I just got them each a pair of Mini Melissa’s (so cute for little girls!) and also think a pair of these would be so easy for the mornings.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a sweet tooth.  And both my girls have inherited it as well, most days we are lucky to get Avalon to eat anything but sweets!  Halo Top recently sent us some coupons to get some of their ice cream, it is SO GOOD, and good for you!  Our favorite kind was cookies & cream, there are a ton more to choose from as well.

And lastly, a few pictures from our week.  My brother who lives in Colorado surprised the girls by sending them an Elsa kite to our house — sweetest thing ever — so we took advantage of the cooler weather, and also a picture with the girls for my birthday.  Don’t ask me how old I am, mainly because I swear I can’t keep up my actual age anymore.

Wishing you a very happy weekend and also sending our love to all of those affected by Hurricane Harvey. XO

"Pee-school" …I can't!!! 🙂 Too cute. I'd love to see the girls' bathroom reveal when it's time — I've been itching to redo our girls' bathroom, as well. So many options! Happy Friday!

Hahaha! It's funny you say you can't keep up with your age because I swear I have to figure out what year it is and then subtract from what year I was born to even figure out how old I am turning! LOL.

The first work week of 2017 is (almost) over, we made it, friends!!!  It was actually really nice to be back into a routine again, we all really do best that way and I always find that weekends are that much more exciting after a long week.  We are double excited about this weekend, SNOW is in the forecast and we are crossing our fingers that they actually got it right this time!  We’ve been doing snow dances non-stop and Waverly is begging to “make herself an ice queen”.  We really didn’t get much more than a dusting last year, so I would love to see both our little girls in the snow together this time around!

I thought I would share some things I have been loving lately, there’s nothing quite like curing your post-holiday blues with some new pretty things! 🙂  We have been replacing our reds & greens from Christmas with brights and pastels, it’s been so much fun to lighten up and has me all kinds of ready for spring.

This throw from Anthro is gorgeous, I can think of so many places that I would love to put it!!!  We recently got this quilt from there, I think I posted about it when we got it but haven’t shared how much we absolutely love it.  It is way more expensive than any of the comforters we have gotten before, but you can tell the difference so much!  It gets softer and even more beautiful with every wash, and already has held up to two kids jumping on it at least once a day.
My mom got me this book for Christmas, it’s specifically for moms, and basically you write one sentence at the end of each day.  I have loved this so far, it kind of goes along with choosing one positive part of each day no matter what, which I started doing a couple months back.  It really is amazing how doing this completely shifts your way of thinking, and helps remind you of how much goodness there is in this crazy season of life!  I really have a hard time picking just one sentence each night!
We are always looking to the next holiday over here, so Valentine’s Day brainstorming is under way!!!  I actually walked into Waverly bringing out the Valentine’s books in the playroom the other day, we have already been reading them each night!  I love these leggings, I got them for Waverly along with these tights for Avalon, and have been eyeing this countdown calendar, I know both girls would have so much fun with this!
And lastly, just a couple pictures to go along with the first!  We recently went ice skating, or actually Joe and Waverly went ice skating while the other half of the family watched, because Avalon was too little and I was the worst ever.  This was our second year in a row, Waverly had a really hard time last year (she got frustrated easily) but did much better this time around and it was precious!!!!  Also pictured, Avalon showing off her lips with a face stained from candy, how I will forever remember her from the holidays this year! 🙂

Wishing you a very warm, happy, fun-filled weekend!

The girls in their perfectly coordinating outfits…gahhhh!!!! Arden wants to go ice skating so bad–but I know Nash would not be happy about sitting on the sidelines!

We are going to an ice skating party in a few weeks and I'm so excited and nervous! The idea is fun, but who's going to fall down first – the kids or me??

We took Mason skating for the first time over winter break and I can't say that he loved it (he went around twice and then said that was enough) but it sure was cute to watch! I was so proud that he even went out there and that he didn't fall (even though he had a death grip on Seth the whole time lol).

We love ice-skating! But it's is definitely hard with he baby/toddler. And I too am already moving on to Valentine's Day. Just bought some conversation hearts the other day and we have a few heart banners up!

Tis’ the season for wanting everything, is it just me?  Thought I would share a few things I am loving this Friday, cannot believe that one week from today we will be officially kicking off the holidays with some Black Friday shopping.  Cannot wait!

1 – I got this holiday blanket recently to update my decor this year and I love it so much!  It’s so fun and cozy, the girls have been loving snuggling up in it, too.  It’s also currently on sale, wishing that was the case when I bought it! 😉

2 – One of Avalon’s favorite things to do is to lounge on any type of chair she can find, so her big gift this year is definitely going to be a little chair she can call her own.  I’m loving this bunny one, how sweet would a little one be all cuddled up in this?

3 – I use Lightoom to edit all of my photos, I’ve been using the 5th version forever now but would love to upgrade to the Lightroom 6.  I probably don’t use it even close to how I should, but love it for making my images lighter, darker, or fixing the exposure.

4 – Now that I am teaching preschool along with my mama gig, I am all about comfort more than ever!!!  I recently got these overalls and LOVE THEM!  Like wish I could live in them forever.

5 – We got this comforter a while ago, but haven’t share it yet!  I had been been eyeing it forever and finally took the plunge, it’s way more than we have ever spent for something like that but we really can tell the biggest difference in the quality.  It’s even more beautiful in person and just so comfy to sleep in!

6 – My most favorite of them all, some pictures of the girls & I recently on the most beautiful fall outing!!  I coordinated a wedding at this museum and just couldn’t wait to take the girls there, every corner of the grounds is just gorgeous and one of their favorite things to do is explore, so of course they loved it.  My mom came with me and we took them through an old fashioned drive-in for grilled cheeses and milkshakes on the way home, it was just the best kind of fall day.

My jacket is from Bernado fashions, it’s been on repeat lately and is especially perfect for rainy days.  Thanks to our friends there for sending it over!  And happiest weekend, friends!

Playing catch-up! I’ve been traveling and got behind. That blanket is so festive and looks cozy! I’ve been so curious about Lightroom, but have never used it. I’ve been using Photoshop Elements. I adore these pictures of you sweet girls!
