Flashback Friday

This Friday’s facts start with a sweet little flashback.
After seven months of recording my baby girl, I finally found the time to download & play back the videos last night.  I couldn’t help but watch every single one, some more than once, and quickly realized how special these are. I will undoubtably treasure them forever. The vast amount of pictures we have is pretty valuable, but these videos add a different, extra-special element that I can’t be more fortunate to have.

I apologize for my apparent high-pitched, super annoying “Mom” voice.  I truly don’t remember having it, yet last night realized that I most likely have this voice anytime I am with Waverly Maye.  I don’t think it is going anywhere, although I plan to attempt to get rid of it before she hits the 5th grade.
What DO I remember from those newborn days?  That’s just what I love about having these recordings.  While watching them, I was taken right back to them.  The moments when Waverly couldn’t yet hold her head up, her newborn onesies were too big, and when we really were just figuring each other out.  When truly, we had some trying times.  Some early evening crying sessions and days when I  felt I had no idea what I was doing.  But it was nothing one of those little smiles couldn’t cure.  They were rare, but so rewarding.  I could spend all day trying to get one, and did just that, because I had no where else to be.  The sound of her soft voice warmed the walls of our house, the one that she had quickly turned into a home.
A happy, perfect, complete little home.
All in all, those early days were certainly memorable, unique, and nothing short of amazing.  The best part?  That they were the beginning to the days we have now.  Really, life hasn’t changed all too much.  Waverly is obviously still the heart of our home and really, the meaning of it.  Although I am back at work, I still spend the majority of my days gazing at her, in awe of what we created.  Her early evening crying sessions have been replaced with playtime on our living room floor, her smiles have gotten bigger and more frequent, and those soft coos have turned into babbles.  Our seven month old baby girl seriously hits a new, exciting milestone each week.  The latest?  Kisses for Mommy.
Seriously, I just about died.  Life with Waverly Maye just keeps getting better & better.  So I’m going to keep recording it each step of the way.
HASH TAG – Love being a mom. 🙂

It is amazing how much they change so quickly! I already forget what it is like to have a newborn until I too look at the videos of my daughter. Waverly Maye is just darling and I don't find your "mom voice" annoying at all! I think that voice is a side effect of giving birth ha ha!
