Five on Friday

Happiest Friday, friends!!  This week flew by, I had Tuesday off work & got to spend the day with Waverly, my favorite kind of day!  Also in positive news, can you even believe Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away?!  Sign me up for extra mashed potatoes plus macaroni & cheese this year, I am totally pulling the pregnant card on this one. 😉

1.  I recently picked up these black combat boots for Waverly, they are from H&M (in-store) which has been one of my go-to places to shop lately!  I couldn’t get them to the register fast enough, I also love that her little sister OR brother can get some use out of them too in approximately three years.

2.  Also in shoe news, one of my favorite pairs of boots from last year is back at Old Navy.  I love the fur on them plus they are super comfortable & easy to put on!  We got the next size up for Waverly & I can’t wait for her to wear them all winter long. 🙂

3.  Is anyone else’s kid obsessed with cell phones?!  We really are trying to work on it, girlfriend wants it all the time so lately we have settled on some educational toddler apps.  Also, she loves “all about that bass” & could sing it all day long while laughing hysterically.

4.  My cravings (& aversions) have been identical this pregnancy to my first.  I normally love sweets & eat them almost every night before bed, but both times, have not even been able to think about chocolate or really sugar in general.  You would think it would help with the weight gain, but I have a NEED for carbs that entirely makes up for it. 😉  This week I was determined to find a sweet I could still eat, so Waverly & I made this poke cake with banana pudding/vanilla wafers.  Both Waverly & I recommend this one, it is absolutely delicious & fun to make!

5.  With all the excitement of this week, I didn’t get a chance to share pictures from a wedding we attended last weekend but it was so much fun!  Waverly came to the rehearsal dinner with us on Friday & then my in-laws watched her while we had a wedding date on Saturday.  I actually stayed up past my recent bedtime of 8pm, which really, was a huge deal for us! 😉

Wishing you all a fun & warm weekend!  We have big plans to make appetizers & watch the Alabama game tomorrow, hoping it’s a good one, ROLL TIDE!
XO

Cam is OBSESSED with All About the Bass, too….he always asks us to play it!! Haha!! What are some of Waverly's favorite apps? Cam loves the iPad, and it totally saves us when we go out to dinner. (We are THOSE parents.) I am loving both pairs of boots…if only I had a girl!! 🙂 I hope you have a great weekend!! xoxo

  2. November 14, 2014 / 1:39 pm

Such a gooooood looking couple 😉 I'm still loving that bump! I had the same cravings/aversion as you during my first (and a little into my second) trimester! The only "sweets" I could stomach was a few sips of chocolate milk each night.
Whoa, I can't believe Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away. I remember thinking on the first day of November that Thanksgiving seemed so far away and this month would totally drag on… looks like I was wrong!

  3. November 14, 2014 / 1:40 pm

Give me all the cake…!! But seriously. 😉
That pic of Waverly cracking up…bless it. I want to hear her sing that song! xx

  4. November 14, 2014 / 1:49 pm

SO funny – Caleb loves "All About That Bass" too! We sing it during diaper changes, and he just giggles his little face off. I can't wait to find out what you guys are having. A boy would be so fun, and I know you'd have a great time dressing him. But a girl would also be amazing, because you could recycle some of Waverly's AMAZING wardrobe!!! We found out our baby's gender on Wednesday, and I can't wait to share:) So many exciting things happening right now! Happy weekend, sweet friend!

PS: I second Elise – give me all the caaaaake!!!!

That song and shake it off are Rae's two favs right now! and those combat boots are so cute!

  6. November 14, 2014 / 4:13 pm

You look beautiful! My 11 month old likes our phones because she knows they play music. Other than that she isn't really interested… I hope to keep it that way! I know some other babies play on theirs.

  7. November 14, 2014 / 6:04 pm

I love that she sings that song! Too funny! And love that dress you're wearing! You look amazing!

  8. November 14, 2014 / 6:09 pm

I couldn't stand sweets the first trimester of my first (and only) pregnancy either! Wonder if that will happen again for me too!

  9. November 14, 2014 / 7:22 pm

How cute are you?!? I need to get Avery those boots this year, I tried last year and they were gone! Happy Weekend!

  10. November 14, 2014 / 7:46 pm

your like the most adorable pregnant gal around. no lie. i want to hate you. . . but youre just too cute to hate.

  11. November 14, 2014 / 8:19 pm

Elyse definitely LOVES our phones. We finally just had to set some limits and also NOT give it to her everytime she asked…which is so much easier said than done!

  12. November 15, 2014 / 1:53 am

Omg Charli loves all about that bass!! Lol! That and shake it off are her two faves right now!! You look gorgeous friend! Hope your weekend is warm and wonderful!!

  13. November 16, 2014 / 4:52 am

You guys look so great in that last photo! You are the cutest pregnant!
Also, Mason is OBSESSED with the iPad and iPhone. It's actually kinda bad. Are you going to do a toddler app post? Or are there some you recommend? Mason's go to's are always the videos app (to watch Mickey) or the Disney Jr app (to watch Mickey lol) or the Wheels on the Bus. I try to download educational apps but Mickey always wins LOL. Also, what kind of phone case is that?! I'm on the hunt for a good, new, toddler-proof one and I am being so indecisive!

  14. November 17, 2014 / 3:02 pm

Marcus is obsessed with All About that Bass, too! He calls it "his" song, and asks for it to be played all.the.time.
Marcus loves himself iPhone/iPad. We try to keep his time on it limited, though, or he could probably blow an entire afternoon on them.
    LOVE those little combat boots.
And, the last pic of you two is absolutely adorable!

  15. November 17, 2014 / 5:32 pm

Adorable boots! And I love that picture of Waverly with the phone. Makes my heart so happy!! And the picture of you and hubs is presh!!

Five on Friday

Happy, happy Friday, friends!  I always love a Friday & this one is getting me even more excited, we are finally all feeling better & it’s technically a holiday weekend, right?!  Bring it on. 🙂

Here are FIVE other things making us very happy at the moment!

ONEWhite.   Every year around this time, I start to feel a total bohemian vibe & my style definitely becomes way more laid-back.  For me, white & bohemian go together perfectly, I find myself wanting to put this look on repeat from about now until September 1st.  And of course, dressing Waverly Maye in it, too.  I just love her as a bohemian baby, it really matches her spirited personality. 🙂

I’ve also got my eye on this short-sleeved version of the shirt from H&M, these pieces are just so versatile & I know we will get use out of them all spring/summer long!

TWOGold Headband.  Besides white, my all-time favorite obsession is gold!!  With my fair skin, I have always been drawn to it more than silver & am loving that it is everywhere right now.  This gold headband from Baby Jules Boutique seriously speaks my language, it is pretty much the perfect headband to wear with anything (& we just might).

THREESt. Patricks Day Treats.  We have been “going green” all week, as in dressing in accents of the color & of course, eating lots of green food!  This holiday really is one of the easiest to go festive with, we love fruits & veggies at our house so we really do this all the time.

New to our grocery list were the lucky charms, which I have now decided we will only get in March each year.  Anyone else tried these lately, they are seriously addicting & completely dangerous to have around!

FOUR:  Method Cleaning Spray.  In keeping with the green theme, I have been buying this method cleaning spray (in cucumber) at Target lately & am addicted.  I love that it doesn’t smell like a bottle of chemicals & that the packaging is actually to pretty to look at.  And I’m especially loving that Waverly is all about helping me clean lately, she is a really impressive little cleaning assistant.

FIVE St. Patricks Day Goodies.  I promise not to go over the top (we do have an Easter basket to fill soon), but I can’t resist a couple of themed-goodies for Waverly on Monday.  I picked her up yet another set of beaded necklaces (this time all green) that I know she will just love to cover herself in.  And also this set of rainbow stickers, a craft she actually has been into lately! 🙂

Thanks to the April, Darci & the lovely ladies of this link-up!!  And CHEERS to the weekend & to all of you for your support of this blog & your sweet, sweet comments each week.  Waverly Maye & I both thank you & wish you the happiest of weekends.

I love the bohemian look! I have noticed that I am definitely drawn to it lately, but wonder how well I can really pull it off. Lol
And luck charms are dangerous in our house! Sydney eats the marshmallows and leaves the rest. Lol
    Happy Friday!

Waverly is SUCH a doll. Her outfit and headband are adorable. Love, love, love.
As for Lucky Charms only in March? GENIUS!!! We may have to buy a box just for Monday's festivities.

  8. March 14, 2014 / 1:49 pm

I have been trying to figure out a St. Patrick's day snack my little 11 month can enjoy and you just gave me a great idea. Green grapes and banana fruit skewers!!

She's so precious! I so badly wanted to make some lucky charms treats, but I decided against it because I knew I would eat them all! And you've now reminded me that I should give Elyse some kiwi, I bet she would love it!

  18. March 15, 2014 / 1:26 am

    I love Method's products!

  20. March 15, 2014 / 2:31 am

I love love the light denim and white top combo on her, basically she is rocking it! I picked up a box of Lucky Charms that I've been saving for this weekend, and I've been craving a bowl every day since. Needless to say I am really excited about waking up tomorrow. I agree though, once a year is much safer! Good thing we like green fruits and veggies too. I cannot believe Aria is loving broccoli now, she wouldn't eat it at all a month ago.

  21. March 15, 2014 / 11:05 pm

Love the last picture! And love your outfit! And…lucky charms… they are true to their name, magically delicious and magically dangerous! We only buy them in March too 🙂

Five on Friday

HAPPIEST Valentines Day!!  We hope everyone has had the best week & that you are feeling lots of love on this special day.  Despite freezing weather for what now feels like weeks upon weeks, our hearts are warm.  I can’t wait to celebrate Valentines Day with my two Valentines!!

Waverly Maye & I are honored to be joining in with other bloggers today as a part of “Team Teddy”.  I’m sure that you have heard his amazing story, but for those who haven’t or want to read more, you can find it hereSuper Teddy is definitely a superhero, & the strength of his parents during such a hard time has truly inspired me.  While I wish I could do more, the best support I can offer is by spreading the word.  I encourage you to do the same; join with us on your blog, Instagram or Facebook with “Team Teddy” signs.  Help Teddy’s mom in her journey to bring awareness to Menkes so that we can find a cure!!

When Natasha from Hello Happiness posted about making this our #1 today, I was so excited to be a part of it.  I honestly attempted to share my other 4, but after writing about Teddy, I couldn’t find a way to make any of them sound important.  So instead, I decided to skip my others this week & give all my love to Teddy!  I look forward to sharing again next Friday, I’m sure I will have more than enough to write about by then. 😉
Of course, I have sweet little plans with both of my Valentines today!!  The good news, we have dinner for three tonight.  Nothing too crazy, these days it’s way more fun for wild Waverly to stay home for dinner rather than be constricted to a high chair.  The not so good news, I have school tomorrow & if you forgot, tomorrow is a Saturday.  Oh yes, after weeks of declaring how excited I was that Valentines Day falls on a Friday this year, my school system decided to plan our first snow make-up day for the Saturday after Valentines Day.

And this is how we feel about that … both of us, I’ve been pouting ever since, too.

Hugs & kisses from us to you!!!!  We hope you have the best weekend & the sweetest holiday!
XOXO

That last pic is killer in the cuteness department. Total fail in the scheduling department though – did somebody not look at a calendar with holidays marked when they planned that one?
