Five on Friday

As always, I am so very thankful that it is FRIDAY & that I get the chance to link-up for another series of Five on Friday.  Being back at my full-time job & chasing after my crazy little one-year old makes life hectic, so a random list of current loves could not be more perfect. πŸ™‚
ONE – It’s pretty obvious that leaving Waverly Maye over the last couple of weeks has been hard.  Really hard.  But if I had to find an upside, it’s definitely that now my little lady has a chance to rock this precious “mini” bookbag.

I know that one is hardly the age that requires a bookbag, but I couldn’t resist.  It’s perfect to pack her snacks & favorite toys in.  Yet obviously, the real reason behind the purchase was that it’s pretty damn cute.  That little body strapped with a bookbag is just adorable … at least for now.  I’m sure I will cry my eyes out when she is actually carrying a bookbag into kindergarden a few years from now.
How is that possible?!!!
TWO – Going back to my stylish student’s “school day” outfit, am I the only one who has a major obsession with baby converse?!  Especially now that Waverly Maye is a walker, I can’t get enough.  Converse seem to be trending all over, I have had at least one student in each class wearing them since school started last week.  They have all looked adorable, & of course I’m biased …  but they can’t pull it off quite like Waverly Maye can.

THREE – It’s official, I am the owner of a legit, big girl camera.  We decided to splurge over the weekend & got the Canon Rebel.  I honestly never had an interest in photography until I had Waverly.  It’s safe to say that the 13 months since her birth, I have taken more pictures than in my previous entire life.  So I felt it was worth it.  I am definitely still trying to figure the thing out, but am super excited to have it! (And partly scared of how many pictures of her I really will take now.  I don’t think it’s possible to take more than before … but I can’t get enough of that face.)

FOUR – The never-ending home renovation continues.  This week, we my dad & husband are focusing on the lawn.  We had four trees knocked down and are killing all of the grass to pretty much start from scratch.  Thank goodness for the men in my life & their ability to figure out things like this, because I am clueless.  And for this girl, who is clearly taking control and directing the construction crew all on her own.

FIVE – This daddy & daughter love continues.  She is obsessed.  It makes me slighly jealous, but then I realize that I have the same obsession with my own dad.  Still.  I have a feeling she will be the same way.

Thanks to Natasha for hosting this link-up, and HAPPY WEEKEND to you all.
XOXO

Love that backpack! I had seen that and then decided it was too small for my oldest, but I should have gotten it for my youngest I guess! πŸ™‚

Yay for your new camera! I got my first "nice" camera about 1 year ago and my best advice is to dive right in taking pictures in manual mode! You will be surprised how quickly you learn…the book "understanding exposure" is a great place to start when you're just learning.

Ahh, I've been eyeing some converse for Jaqs, too! I would love some for myself, too, but I feel like I look like a CLOWN in them. My feet are already big, so I don't need any help enhancing that πŸ˜‰
