The countdown is on, Easter is in exactly 9 days & we are a couple of very happy bunnies over here!! We have friends coming in town this weekend & lots of spring shenanigans planned to get into. I cannot wait to celebrate all things Easter, we love this holiday (& all the other ones) too much. 🙂
Here are five other things we are loving at the moment, thanks to Darci & the ladies of this link-up!
ONE: We took Waverly Maye to see the Easter bunny last weekend, it’s something I have been both looking forward to & terrified of for some time now. Our experience with Santa prepared me for the worst, I couldn’t decide if the extra few months Waverly has on her since then would make her less or more scared of the giant, random man in costume. You know, the one we would hand her off to & ask her to sit in his lap & smile while we walked away.
Turns out she liked him even less than Santa, I’ll spare you the terribly sad pictures which look more like a crime scene than a happy holiday tradition. I’ve accepted it, don’t really blame her (I think he is pretty creepy myself), & have settled on a “bunny-eared beanie” instead.

My mom got Waverly this hat on sale at
H&M, I love how festive it is for this month! This jumpsuit from BabyGap (sold-out) is also one of my absolute favorites, pairing grey with a pastel is just the sweetest on little ladies (& gents, too!).
TWO: Waverly had a couple pairs of
jelly sandals last summer, they totally bring me back to my childhood which makes me so very happy! We have stocked up on a couple more, but even better,
DSW has a line of jelly sandals out for us mamas. Why shouldn’t we join in on the fun, too?! 😉 I am obsessed, & loving this
lace-up pair both in the nude & the mint for only $20.00! #yesplease
THREE: This ice-cream cake is the best (& worst) thing ever, it’s a recipe my parents & grandparents made for us while growing up that was always a favorite. It is too perfect for this time of year, the colors make it so pretty for entertaining & not to mention, pastels are so very on trend. 😉
To make it, combine angel-food cake broken into pieces (I just bought it already made) & rainbow sherbert into a metal or bundt cake pan, then melt vanilla ice cream & pour it over. Freeze for a few hours, top with cool whip & then put back in the freezer. Be warned, if you have a sweet tooth like me, you will be addicted as it is the most refreshing & delicious treat. I used low-fat everything which basically (in my mind) allowed for bigger pieces at each sitting.
FOUR: We have a Easter Egg Brunch/Hunt with friends planned for Sunday, I’m so excited & know that this Easter activity has Waverly’s name all over it. I picked up these
treat cups at Target & plan to fill them with mini-waffles for the little ones, the adults will of course be more concerned with the momasas.
FIVE: And because one Target shout-out wasn’t enough, I got this
chalkboard beverage dispenser there the other day & love it! The best part is obviously that Waverly can’t break it, I can’twait to use it for our brunch this weekend!
I have to mention that today marks the start to my SPRING BREAK!! I am so very excited for a week with my sweet, sweet blue-eyed little lady, I can’t even stand it!
HAPPY, happy weekend to you all, we hope it is a great one!
XOXO
Yay for Spring Break! I love that chalkboard drink dispenser! And we are very excited for an Easter egg hunt too! Have a great weekend!
Slightly obsessed with the bunny hat! and what a cute pink sweater 🙂
Haha! My favorite line, "because one Target shoutout isn't enough". Seriously! It's like that store calls my name and knows if I haven't been twice that week! Happy weekend friend!
I've been DYING to get a pair of jelly sandals for Savanna..but I'm worried they'll be super uncomfortable, especially when she first starts walking. 🙁 Do you find a problem with them? I loved my jellies when I was a kid..and I've always wanted to buy a pair for my daughter! The Easter Bunny. I've been debating taking Savanna to see him but I think she'll FREAK. I mean..he even scares me. =/
We didn't even make it to the bunnys lap! Lex was thrilled from afar but definitely came down with stage fright upon "go time"! But I mean those giant bunnies can be scary sometimes…
Ya. This past year was the first time that Sydney would even sit on santos lap. But I'm not even trying the Easter bunny because I know that Sydney sees him one way, and that costume looks nothing like it. Plus it's a little freaky, or at least the ones here are. :-/
Love her hat (her whole outfit really!) and that cake looks YUMMY!
I'm nervous about taking Elin to see the Easter bunny! We did fine last year but I feel like she is more aware this year and will not be pleased!
That looks and sounds like the best ice cream cake ever!
Ahh I love her hair in that last pic!!
I'm going to be honest. The bunny still freaks me out and I'm a grown woman. Can't blame Miss W even a little bit for hating him.
Enjoy your spring break, Ashley!!!
I an going to have to try that cake for sure- sounds DELICIOUS!!!! :-). Happy Friday!!
Enjoy your Easter Egg Hunt this weekend! I think our little ones will absolutely love it this year! We are having one with our neighbors Easter morning!
Happy weekend to you and Waverly! I hope the weather is nice and warm for your Easter Egg Hunt! I remember how much fun those were when I was a kid!
Love Waverly's little romper! So sweet! I am not even attempting easter bunny photo's this year after how horrible Santa photo's went. I think the Easter bunny is terrifying so I am sure Scarlett would scream bloody murder!
Hope you have a great weekend, Ashley!
She is so adorable! Looks like you have a fun weekend planned. After reading this I have this strange desire to go to Target… Oh wait, I always feel that way 🙂
I love that beanie and color combo she's wearing. I haven't tried the Easter bunny yet…don't think it will go well!
That cake sounds amazing!! I have to try that soon!!!
her eyes are amazing! and we won't even be attempting the Easter bunny…I know it will end up in a horrible crying fit for Elyse, and it's honestly just not worth it!
UM. That cake.. making asap. Rae won't go near the bunny either. A lot of "dog" and pointing action though 😉
Dying over her outfit!! Sooo cute, and I have my eye on a couple Jelly sandals too. Happy weekend! Xo
That cake sounds like heaven! And I always love Waverly's style!! Xx.
Woohoo for Spring Break!!!! I can't believe you can actually go and visit the Easter Bunny…. Poor Waverly, maybe a field of bunnies is the way forward!!! Have a great weekend xx
a bunny eared hat, seriously?! can she get any more precious. love her outfit, she should totally be a model baby!
Awe she is going to love the Easter egg hunt! And I can't even tell you how envious I am of your spring break!!!!!!
Ha ha…. we won't be taking Mia to see the Easter bunny this year. But I have to admit, I'm the mean mom that loves the screaming pictures 😉
Checking out the jellies right now… I would LOVE to match Mia!!
Yay spring break!! Have the best week EVER!
I'm a little late to the game today (finishing up my spring break) as I was busy painting and weeding!!
Where on earth do you find an Easter bunny to take pictures with?! I guess I'll have to look that up.
You always have the best Target finds (and prices too!!) that make me want to go spend ally hard earned money. The cake stand (last week) and beverage dispenser (this week) are going to have to come home with me!!
Have a great time on your spring break!!! I know I did.

OMG jellies! Bringin' me straight back to my childhood when I had them in multiple colors and wore them EVERY. DAY. Love it!
Yay for Easter! And that cake yum!!!
Woohoo for Easter, and Spring Break!
Go ahead and just pass me the pan of that ice cream cake. HOLY YUM!
