Five on Friday: October Edition

Thank you for sweet & thoughtful comments on last week’s Five on Friday post, my breastfeeding journey, & on welcoming our nephew last weekend.  I feel so fortunate to have met so many lovely ladies through this blog, so much so that I upgraded the blog this week to include a custom Words About Waverly button & a Pinterest button for all my pictures.  Big things over here. ðŸ™‚

And of course, HAPPY FRIDAY!  It’s time to link-up with our fave five!

ONEApples.  Waverly Maye has a current obsession with apples, she wants them ALL the time!  One apple will really keep her occupied for at least half an hour, which is more than I can say for any of the expensive toys we have purchased for her.

How healthy & completely FESTIVE of her!  Second to pumpkins, apples are our fruit of the fall & I’ve already indulged her craving with a batch of caramel apple cookies & have plans to go apple picking soon.

TWOFall Decor.  I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t really get into decorating for Fall or Halloween until this year.  Last year Waverly Maye was three months old & we were so sleep deprived, I’m not even sure we knew that it was October.  But now that she is older, more aware, & we have our OWN house, it is totally time.  That, & I have been inspired by so many of you ladies!

I love a garland so much that I would actually wear one if it was socially acceptable!  However, most of our “decor” budget has to go to actually furnishing our newly purchased home.  So instead, I decided to make my own in addition to the white one I already had from Etsy.  I used inspiration from this tutorial & the pumpkins are from Micheals

THREEHalloween Books.  Would the holiday really be official without books to go along with it?!  Waverly Maye really does enjoy storytime each night, but after trial & error, we have quickly learned board books are the only way to go right now.  Here is our Halloween collection, all with hard covers & complete with our latest addition, Halloween Jack.

FOUR – We clearly love to dress-up, but like many of you, we love our jammies too!  Our favorite places for holiday jams are Gap, Old Navy & Target.  And as always, we are loving a festive Target sippy cup.  It’s the little things …

FIVEBoots.  No October list of mine would be complete without a mention of my preferred fall footwear.  There is really nothing better than a good pair of boots, & I am LOVING all of the options out there right now. My must-haves are ankle booties, riding boots, & these adorable oxfords.
*All appropriate for chasing around a toddler, a definite plus. 🙂

Happy Friday & Happy October!
XOXO

Love the coffee station! I'm looking forward to setting my coffee station back up once we move to a place with more counter space. And Waverly is too cute!
