Family Pictures

I am fiiiiinally getting around to sharing some favorites from our family photo session taken back in November for our holiday cards!  We met our sweet friend Shawna for these, in one of our absolute favorite locations to explore in Virginia Beach, I love how they turned out and am so happy to have another set of beautiful memories to look back on.

Also keeping it real, the girls were not on their best picture-taking game this day.  Avalon fought a nap all afternoon and then finally fell asleep on the way there, so we had to wake her up and she was super grouchy (not like her at all) and clingy pretty much the entire time.  Waverly Maye, girlfriend was on her own agenda and still in the stage of practicing her own independence as a new kindergartener.  Our girls usually enjoy taking pictures and get pretty into it, so it was pretty frustrating that they weren’t the one day of the year we had holiday photos, yet such is motherhood.  Through the years I am learning more and more to embrace the good and the not so good, because somehow, I know I will miss it all one day.  And when you step back, all of it is beautiful in it’s own way.

The biggest thank you to Shawna Bielat Photography for capturing these, I have also linked my dress and the girls outfits below! XO

If this is the girls on their sub-par game, I can't even imagine when they're 100% on point! These are beautiful! I have to shove M&Ms into my kids' mouths for 30 seconds of picture taking cooperation!

Family Pictures

I’m finally getting around to posting some of our family photos we had done back in September, and to be honest, I probably only found the time to go through them because of the snowstorm that hit and kept us at home for four days straight!  It was just so hard to narrow them down, I love these images so much and could have easily chosen twenty more favorites.  Brooke is the best about hanging with us for as long as our girls will last and taking a million pictures, mainly of us just being “us” and doing things we normally would.  One of the many reasons I am obsessed with her and will treasure all the moments she has captured of our family over the years forever & ever.

It’s crazy to think about how far we have come since September.  We actually did these the weekend before I started my new job, something that came after a pretty stressful few months, and something we were so excited for but also pretty nervous about.  Turns out, it was the best thing that could have happened to us.  Fast forward four months to now, and we have settled into a routine, the girls are thriving, and not for nothing, the countdown to my three month summer vacay is already on (one of the best perks of my teaching job!).  Everything happens for a reason, my friends.  Forever thankful for this life and these people I get to spend it with.

All images taken by my sweet friend Brooke of Brooke Tucker Photography.  Love her!

Happy, happy weekend friends!
XO
