Fall Footwear

TGIF friends, I hope you all had a wonderful week!  It’s been a crazy one our way, with two trips to the pediatrician in three days, the first time because both girls got pink-eye (helloooo two kids!), and the second to get some relief from Avalon’s reflux, which seems to be getting worse.  Waverly used to be crazy shy around our doctor and not say a word, but now that we have seen her so much lately, they are pretty much besties.  She told her that Bogger (our dog) ate her bagel, that her newest baby doll’s name was Debbie & that she needed a band-aid, and that we just left dance but the lights weren’t on because her Miss Gita (her teacher) was taking a nap.

The lights part was true.  I got Waverly dressed in her tutu & leotard, packed both girls in the car and drove us all the way to dance, got them both out of their car seats and walked to the door – only to realize that the place was completely closed since the last day of summer dance class was last week.  Yep, we are very ready for the weekend (and thankfully, just in time, both girls eyes are back to normal & Avalon seems to be doing better, too!).

In other news, fall fashion!! 🙂  I love so many things about getting dressed in the fall, and my favorite part might just be bringing boots back!  I have such an obsession with booties, I would wear them year-round if I could.  I think they are such a great way to be stylish but comfortable at the same time.  I’ve found some of my favorites for this year (all under $100), as well as a wedge & flat for some versatility, if booties aren’t your thing.

Vintage Booties, Cranberry Wedges, Fringe Bootie, Camel Fringe Bootie, Nude Flats, Grey Booties

Those fringe ones with hidden heel might just be my pick to add to my collection this year, how cute would they be with a floral dress before it gets really cold?!  I also love this hat, which could be paired with any of the shoes (or really, anything you put on!) all fall long.  Such a good price!

And since it’s still way too hot here to wear anything fall-appropriate, we will just pretend with fringe & fall colors!  I can’t even take Waverly’s little pose in the top picture, I feel like I am looking into my future with (two) teenage daughters.

Happy, happy weekend!
XO

Love how you dress Waverly! I'm just curious, does she ever fight back on what you want her to wear? If so, how do you deal with that? Sweethughes.blogspot.com

Fall Footwear

We hope you ladies had the best first weekend of fall!  Our weekend was busy, yet so much fun, we spent lots of time outside & I am excited to share pictures later this week!

In the meantime, I can’t resist sharing a little fashion to kick off this first full week of fall!  Shoes are my obsession (so my shopping weakness) all year long, but especially for fall.  I love the return of boots after spring & summer, plus I especially love that in the fall, it’s chilly enough to wear them but not too cold to wear them with dresses or jeans with short sleeves.  For the past few fall seasons, booties are my go-to for Waverly Maye & I both, they are so comfortable but cute at the same time (my number one & two criteria for shoes, especially for moms plus their toddlers).  I recently got these western-inspired booties for me & a coordinating pair for Waverly, I can’t decide which ones I like more!

My Booties (Waverly’s Last Season)
I thought I would round up a few more fall footwear favorites for mama & mini, such a fun yet dangerous thing to do! 😉

MAMA:  Leopard Flats, Tall Boots, Booties (Similar), Hunter Boots
MINI:  Converse, Leopard Boots, Fur Boots, Booties (Similar)

Even though I didn’t include any boy shoes, I adore shoes for little men & have even gotten a few pairs for Waverly.  These leather boots & these docksides (both from Zara) are way too much, if we have a little boy one day he would totally be rocking these!  Another gender neutral pair of shoes I can’t get enough of, red hunter boots, we recently got a pair for Waverly & she loves them almost as much as I do.  If you follow me on Instagram (ashleywbrickner), you may have seen this picture of Waverly recently playing in the puddles.  SUCH a mess after yet one of the highlights of her life to date. 😉

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead!
XO

Adorable, as always!!! And, thanks for sharing some boy boots, too. 🙂 I think if you had a boy, Cameron's wardrobe would be a lot cooler!! Haha 🙂 Happy Monday!

Those red Hunters – yes! And those Western booties, where did you find those? Cuuuuuute!

  3. September 29, 2014 / 2:43 pm

Loving all of these! I have been eyeing a pair of SM leopard flats that I think I just need to go with. And I've realized through your posts that I need a little girl to dress up so cute!

  4. September 29, 2014 / 2:56 pm

I love Waverly's FACE in the last picture. She looks so excited and happy. You guys make me smile everyday!

Zara shoes are the best!! and so is Waverly's face in that last picture, what a DOLL!

  6. September 29, 2014 / 3:39 pm

Fall footwear is my fav! And you need to give me a bootie wearing lesson… Or confidence. Everyone else looks adorable and I feel stupid!

  7. September 29, 2014 / 3:45 pm

Those red hunters are to die for! I love them with her little white dress and that perfect excited face in the last picture!

  8. September 29, 2014 / 5:36 pm

Yeah, I'm thinking we need to update Abigail's pair of Hunters and I think it's only fair for Mama to snag a pair too 😉

  9. September 29, 2014 / 5:41 pm

I love those red boots! They are perfect for all things. Maybe I'll have to get a pair for my little man. And that puddle picture is the cutest!

  10. September 29, 2014 / 5:53 pm

Loving all your picks! And totally hoping for a girl one day so I can do mama and mini matching:) Adorable! Waverly's pure joy at puddle jumping makes me want to go jump in a few puddles myself! 🙂

  11. September 29, 2014 / 6:42 pm

I wish all of these would just miraculously show up on my doorstep one day 🙂 Love all your choices!!!

  12. September 29, 2014 / 7:00 pm

Love this little round up! And Waverly is adorable in her red rain boots. I love my hunters and really want a pair for Liam, but I've been holding out for a sale….

  13. September 30, 2014 / 2:03 am

Oh my goodness those wellies! I am still debating between navy and yellow wellies for Harper 🙂

  14. September 30, 2014 / 2:18 am

I would just die for a pair of hunters for me and miss Q but AZ just doesn't seem right to wear them. I can't wait to get her in some kind of boot!

    • September 30, 2014 / 6:07 pm

Haha, I can imagine! But she can do some booties, right?!!! 😉

  15. September 30, 2014 / 4:56 am

LOVE that picture of Waverly playing in the puddles in her boots! I WISH it rained here. I would so let Mason do that too. Instead he had to settle for running through these teeny tiny puddles at the park the other day. He had a blast though… no matter how small they were!

  16. September 30, 2014 / 5:07 am

Yes, this IS too dangerous! I love mama and mini shoes! Ugh… I need to get some Hunter Boots for Kaitlyn, you know, for the 2 days it sprinkles in SoCal lol! But the hardest part is choosing a color! Red looks so cute on Waverly! Every color looks so cute!

Haha, you are sweet as always! Hope you guys are doing well!

The best $50 I've spent on my 3 year old was in her silver hunters. She has worn them til the last possible moment and we finally have to upsize 9 months later. She loves them, they're easy for her to get on and off, and durable! As for women's booties– I want some. No idea how to wear them unless I look at Pinterest and then I can never track down the pair they're wearing. And being a kindergarten teacher, 3" wedges are not happening. Can you wear them with things other than jeans?

  18. September 30, 2014 / 8:17 pm

    Cuuuuute!
We spent our first weekend of Fall in Arizona with 100 degree days, yuck! Hoping for a very fall-ish weekend this weekend 😉
