Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch

We hosted our annual Easter Egg Hunt and brunch over the weekend, something we look forward to every year!!  We started this with our friends and their little ones after we moved into our house when Waverly was two, and I have loved watching the kids grow each year so much.  Life seems to get busier and crazier all the time, so even though we have a lot of friends who have kids the same age as ours, it’s hard to get together that often.  Every time we do, it’s so worth it and I find myself thankful for my kids being able to grow up alongside the kids of my best friends from my own childhood.

Waverly was so excited to help with everything this year, we let her hide a couple of the eggs (for the “babies”), and she never turns down an opportunity to help me bake some cupcakes.  We did some mimosas and this French toast bake overnight, and then everyone brought something to share.  The kids had so much fun hunting, although looking back I know to get a lot more eggs to hide next year, turns out four-year olds can hunt way better and faster than three-year olds can. 😉

Our yearly photo at the end, I couldn’t get the camera back far enough to get all the kids in the frame, a total of thirteen (so far!).  Love these babes so much!!! 🙂  You can see last year’s hunt here and the year before here & here – all of which confirm my babies are growing TOO fast!  XO

Such a fun tradition and I'm sure everyone loves it! I love the yearly photo. XOXO We used to have an annual egg hunt with our friends, but my kids were the youngest in the group and now many of those kids are teenagers. I really miss it!

Love this tradition of yours! We do a huge hunt with all the neighborhood kids, but not until Easter Day. My boys need to get some practice in!

Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch

We had our annual Easter celebration with friends over the weekend, one of our very favorite traditions we started a few years back.  Each year we have added babies, which is so incredibly sweet, this time was our biggest yet and it’s so fun to watch these little ones grow year to year.  Also an added bonus, mimosas for the moms!!
Bar Cart (Similar)
We always make a couple dishes & then everyone brings something to share, this time we did muffins and an egg casserole, plus I always love to cut up a little fruit to put in an egg crate.  I love to use mine for all sorts of things around Easter time (similar here), hoping to do some cinnamon rolls or cupcakes to put in them later this week with Waverly!
Easter egg hunting was Waverly Maye’s jam, she loved running around and she loved eating all of the treats even more.  I can’t believe Avalon will be running around with her next year, these two make holidays way too much fun.  I hope they will Easter egg hunt with me forever & ever.
Waverly’s RomperAvalon’s Cardigan, My Dress
And that last picture is totally my favorite ever, our newest additions!  Avalon Elle being so very true to her, happy & content and wondering why the hell her buddy isn’t?!  Fun fact, that is my husband’s best friend and business partner’s son, him and Avalon are one day apart.  We were in labor (at the same hospital) at the exact same time, they beat us to it right before midnight and Avalon was born about 12 hours later. 😉
Wishing you all a very happy week! XO

Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch

Happy Easter weekend!!  It truly has been the sweetest week at home with Waverly Maye, I have loved being with her all day so very much & wish it hadn’t gone by so fast.  So glad to have a weekend of celebrating to look forward to, I plan to take full advantage of these next couple of days. Something tells me Monday will hurt a little more than usual after a week-long vacation. 😉

Last weekend, we hosted an Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch for a few of our friends.  It’s so funny to think how life has changed for all of us, our celebrations used to start at 10 (am) & last until the early hours of the morning & now, we plan around when the kids need to nap.  Everything might not run as smoothly (you know, a few meltdowns & blowouts here & there), but at the end of the morning, seeing all these little ones interact is just the sweetest thing.

I emptied out Waverly’s Easter basket so that she could use it for the hunt & of course, brought out her bunny shirt to make sure we were in theme.

I loved decorating our table & bar cart with the pretty pastels of the season, spring sights just make me so very happy!!  It’s hard not to go completely crazy & cover the house in a whole bunch of floral festiveness, yet I settled on just our downstairs.  I know my husband appreciated that, for some reason he doesn’t love pink & purple as much as I do.

Beverage Dispenser, Ice Bucket & Cake Stand
We made an egg & cheese casserole & ham biscuits for the brunch, both were perfect for a big crowd plus we were able to make them the night before.  For the kids, I used our egg crate for some seasonal fruit & treat cups from Target for mini-waffles.
Waverly woke up that morning with a cold, she didn’t have a fever but I felt so bad for her since after our Easter bunny fail, I was thinking this would be totally her thing.  Even though she wasn’t 100% her silly self, she loved being around the other kids & especially eating the treats I hid in the eggs.  I consider that a success, & also her warm-up for one more little hunt over the weekend.

Headband & Leggings
We wish you all the happiest Easter weekend, enjoy every minute!!
XOXO
