Diaper Bag Essentials

It’s so crazy hard to believe that it’s already November & the holiday season is right around the corner. I’m one of those crazy people who just loves being a part of every little second of the holidays, I’ve never stayed away from the big crowds at the malls or inside because it was too cold.  None of that has changed since I’ve had kids.  Miss Waverly Maye went on her first Black Friday adventure at just under five months old and her little sister will join us in a few short weeks.  We love to take it all in, but (when we can!), try to work smarter, not harder, and I feel like a lot of that starts with what you have with you.  Besides the kids.

So!  Our diaper bag essentials, starting with the bag itself.  I’ve been using this Rebecca Minkhoff bag since I had Avalon, which was actually a TJ-Maxx clearance find!  I LOVE it, it has tons of compartments (to make me feel like I am halfway organized), is easy to clean, and my favorite, it doesn’t really look like a typical diaper bag.  It’s big, but not so big that I feel like I am carrying around a suitcase, since I usually have two kids on either arm!
Here’s what we keep inside:
Solly Wrap – I don’t leave home without this, ever!  One of the many reasons that I love this wrap is that it’s easy to pack, I also have the ergo & obviously that can’t fit into a diaper bag, so the solly is always my go-to.
Nursing Cover – So important for obvious reasons, I especially love this one because it doubles as a car seat cover and a cart cover for all of our Target trips, when the time comes that Avalon is able to sit on her own.
Pacifier, Clip & Sofie Teether – Avalon LOVES to have something in her mouth at all times, she is able to tolerate the car seat for so much longer if she has a toy or something to put in her mouth.  Both our girls have loved Sophie, it’s a little expensive for a teether, but is seriously magical.
Sippy Cup – For Waverly, along with a few snacks.  I always just keep bags of goldfish or fruit snacks and refill them almost every single night.
Change of Clothes – Oh, how we learned this the hard way!  I also wish I could fit a second set of clothes for me, too.
Swaddle Blanket – We survive off of swaddle blankets, for everything!  Even Waverly still uses them at nap time or to clean up messes.
Diapers & Wipes – An obvious necessity, all the time, everyday!  We are big fans of the Huggies Clutch ‘n Clean wipes, they are so easy to throw in your bag and also the options of prints that they have are the cutest.  The wipes are dermatologically tested, mom approved, and they are the number one branded choice of moms.  We love them for diaper changes but also for cleaning up sticky hands or faces, I have used them since Waverly was little and we have had SO many moments of messiness that were saved by them.  You can buy Huggies Clutch ‘n Clean wipes at your local CVS. #CVSHuggiesHeroes
And there you have it, the essentials we find most important for our everyday!  With the holidays coming up & lots more running around to do, us mamas can save ourselves a little sanity by being prepared.  I love to see what works for others and hope this is helpful to someone or that you are able to relate. 🙂
Wishing you all the happiest Monday and hope you had a lovely weekend!
XO

A bag with a bunch of compartments sounds perfect for a diaper bag!

Love your list!! We just got a diaper backpack (for when we flew), and it was amazing because it had so many compartments! I have to say that I have just not been able to use the Solly wrap. 🙁 I was so excited about it, but I just always go for our Ergo, which L loves. I am jealous of all you Solly-users. 😉

I need to just stick my wrap in my diaper bag because I have run out of the house and left it behind more than once, ugh!
I've been seeing everyone do this huggies ad- where do I sign up for this?! Ha ha! (But seriously!)

Even as Noah grows, a change of clothes and wipes will always be a necessity! Good luck on Black Friday!

People rave about the Covered Goods covers! Do they really fit around the kid seat in a shopping cart?

Love the clean and clutch wipes, we don't use them often, but I love just having something like that for when I just need that and a diaper. And your diaper bag is wayyy too fancy to be a diaper bag, it's gorgeous I love it.
