Confessional Thursday

Happy Friday Eve, friends!!!  I’m excited to link up with my girl Jessica & share some confessions today, I’ve been meaning to do this forever and just haven’t found the time. So maybe that’s my first confession, I’m always wishing there were at least five more hours in every single day so I could at least come close to accomplishing all I want to.  Then as soon as I think that, I remind myself that it seriously takes every last ounce of energy to make it until the girls bedtime, which is about two minutes before  I want to curl up in bed myself.  So then I take it back.

Here goes, I confess that …

1 – I sometimes (ok, all the time) forget how old I am.  It’s seriously an issue, I’m 100% sure I’ve said it wrong more than five times and I just hoped to myself no one called me out on it.  And with that, does anyone else remember when someone in their thirties sounded crazy old?!  Thirty is the new twenty, right?

2 – I’m addicted to baskets.  Straight up addicted.  I know I’ve recently said this & then bought a new one.  Or two.  I literally can’t stop.

3 – Three-year old vocabulary & language is my favorite ever.  Most of the time.  Some favorites, Waverly says “perfeck”, pronounces everything with an “ed” after, I “lost-ed” it, and lately has replaced mommy with “my beautiful mommy”.  Also, I will never grow tired of seeing little girls in tutus, ever.

4 – My husband had to work overnight this week & he knew he that I was so freaked out that he sent his dad over to sleep on our couch.  It’s ridic & I need to grow up.

6 – Avalon had her nine-month appointment this week, one month late (second child) – and she is still in the fifth percentile for height and 20th for weight.  And I kind of love it.  She’s still rocking some of her 3-6 month clothes and we’re just riding that train for as long as we can.  And just for memory’s sake, I have to record that Waverly begged me to let her take off her shirt at the appointment too, because “mom, I NEED a check-up by Dr. Anna.”

Love these two.

7 – I want Birkenstocks.  There, I said it.  I know people have mixed thoughts about them, but these copper ones … I would never take them off.

8 – I’m not on Snap Chat.  You guys, am I the only one?!  Just even the thought of downloading it pretty much puts me over the edge, I mean, one more piece of social media to keep up with?  Tell me it’s not worth it. Or that it is. 😉

And lastly, a little PSA that I curated a headband set with the sweetest shop and it’s for sale this week only!!!  The link is here, you can get 10% off your purchase with the code SAVEWITHASHLEY.  I will be posting some more pictures tomorrow but for now, this one in the floral headbands that are part of the set.
Give me all the floral headbands.

Enjoy your day! XO

I forget how old I am sometimes too. My bestie had to remind me one day when we were out. Ha ha! You hit 33 and your mind just goes. 😉 I love 3 year old language too. Cam keeps saying "I got this under control Mommy." Ha ha! I get nervous when Drew is gone overnight for work. We have a big dog who barks at everything and in our new house we have an alarm system and I till struggle to sleep. Have a great day friend.

Love your confessions! I HATE sleeping by myself and can't remember the last time I did it – my mom usually comes to stay if my hubby has to be away (rare) haha! I'm not on SnapChat either. It's way too stressful to remember all of these platforms (which reminds me that I'm old, but not quite sure how old.. ;)). Also baskets aren't such a bad thing to be addicted to! You can never use too much storage, right?! Have a great day!

So wait, is your doctor really Dr Anna or is that because of Daniek Tiger? Because if it's really dr Anna that is so cool! And I was just as ridiculous about Chris being away over night up until his last trip. It was the FIRST time I didn't have my mom come sleep here with me. I was surprised how well I did. But I totally understand! And yes, 3 year old talk is the best!

That was so nice of your FIL to stay over so that you felt more comfortable/safe! I forget my age sometimes, too. I think I'm stuck at 31 in my head haha, and yes I remember when 30 sounded old. I'm all for thirty is the new 20 🙂
Snapchat is definitely fun, but can be a lot too depending on how you use it. If you're not inclined to do it, just avoid it.

I'M NOT ON SNAP, woohoo! We can be snapless together!

That picture of Waverly in a tutu is just everything.

You would have the cutest snap chat ever! I have it and I'm still not sure I get it but I love following my favorite mamas on it. And YES to the birks, I have the Arizona's in black leather and they are my favorite. I decided this summer I needed a brown pair so I got the Yaras, they are equally awesome. Lastly, Waverly in her tutu, so cute!

You are not the only person not on Snapchat – I downloaded it for about five minutes & couldn't even figure the thing out. Talk about feeling old! Ha-ha!

Umm you legit need snapchat. IT's the best app every and honestly it's one where you don't have to 'keep up' with it. It's just like the unfiltered real life version of everyone. I honestly really feel like I've been able to get to know and connect with my online blogger friends on a different level on there and that's what I love about it 🙂

When Luke goes out of town for his camping trips with the guys or for work, I stay at my parent's house…no shame! You have the sweetest father in law & husband!

3 year old talk is the BEST!

  10. April 14, 2016 / 2:22 pm

I never know my age either! And I just downloaded snapchat last week bc I felt totally behind the times. But I just can't take the time to figure it out- ha- I guess my age doesn't matter bc obviously I'm officially old!

  11. April 14, 2016 / 2:25 pm

ha! i remember when 21 sounded old!

I'm with Tawnya!! You totally need snap, i LOVE it because it's so real life!

  13. April 14, 2016 / 3:08 pm

I have way too many baskets and bins. I found a couple cute ones for next Easter on sale at Target for 50 cents. I'm not on Snapchat either. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in my circle of friends that doesn't have one haha. But I was late to the Instagram party too.

  14. April 14, 2016 / 4:11 pm

I kinda want a pair of birkenstock's too! And snapchat… I was very very very against it, but I finally caved due to FOMO. I don't think you are missing anything as far as following strangers, but it is another really fun way to connect with bloggers & friends. I am far closer to many people now because of it! Video messages for the win!

  15. April 14, 2016 / 5:40 pm

I think it was last week when I read another blogger say that they wanted Birkenstocks. Ha! Look Lady, if anyone can start a new fashion trend, it's you, so I say go for it!

  16. April 15, 2016 / 12:07 am

Love it! Ive been wanting to do a confessional post for a while now too… find the time, right. I have snapchat but dont use it. I don't think youre missing out.

  17. April 15, 2016 / 1:30 am

You NEED snapchat!!! DO IT! Erin (hello erin) convinced me that I need it and I swore up and down that I didn't and that it was for teenagers and then… I downloaded it and I'm addicted. I love seeing the behind the scenes of everyone's everyday lives (ok, I guess I'm just nosy LOL).

  18. April 15, 2016 / 2:57 am

I recently got Snap and im addicted. You will love it! I love seeing the real deal with people I follow on IG. no editing and you can show inside your life like you cant on IG. You just might have to get it so I have one more person to stalk lol PS I need that tutu for my little miss where is it from?

  19. April 15, 2016 / 5:00 pm

I am not a social media lover, but I love snapchat. It's so unedited. I get to see what my friends are doing with their day-to-day. And if you don't check it, who cares? No one is making any big announcements via snapchat anyway. I am one of those who hates perfectly curated and edited facebook and instagram posts, so it's my perfect social media.

  20. April 15, 2016 / 8:22 pm

Ha! I am there with you, friend. I am always forgetting my true age. Last night my pastor’s wife said she was going to be 3x next month and I was like oh my word, that’s how old I am. Crazy! And I am addicted to baskets as well. Darn Target and all the cute ones they’ve been putting in the dollar spot. That picture is adorable. I never thought I would want some Birks, but I keep seeing them and loving them a little more each time. Snapchat is totally worth it. I hope you decide to get it.

  21. April 16, 2016 / 2:08 am

You need Snapchat!! It's the best unfiltered version of life, and I love it!
I love that Avalon is such a peanut – and I'm totally jealous you've been able to rock the 3-6 month clothes for so long!
