In honor of Cinco de Mayo (you know I love a holiday), I thought that I would kick off the weekend with cinco of my favorite pictures from this week.

Even though our spring sunshine has been replaced with rain & cold, we can’t complain too much. Waverly Maye had her 9 month check-up this week, and our doctor had nothing but good things to say about this little lady.
She actually said that Waverly was the most perfect & beautiful child ever, right after she told me we were the best parents ever. And even though I am fully aware that she says this to all of her patients, since we have quite a few friends that see the same doctor, it still makes me feel pretty damn good. Every time. Nothing like a good mid-week self-esteem boost.
Waverly is no longer a complete midget and has moved up to the 40% percentile for both weight & height. Her development is progressing right as it should, and our doctor confirmed that Waverly is pretty much a star since she can pull herself up and practically stand on her own. We are (obviously) so proud, and a little petrified at the same time. We have also officially been given the go for legit, big people food. I have been waiting for this moment for a while now, but so far, it hasn’t turned out quite as planned. She has pretty much turned her head to the beautiful place settings I have created for her since our appointment, including strawberries, bananas, and mac & cheese. The only food she is excited about is ice cream. Go figure. Suggestions of any “first food” ideas are welcome & appreciated. 🙂
We also took some family spring photos this week – a sneak peek in numero uno – and will post them soon. We are excited for a fun weekend full of fiestas in honor of this non-holiday.
Why not take advantage of every excuse to celebrate? Happy CINCO DE MAYO weekend, friends.
Her outfits are so great! I would try avocado, maybe? I've heard most babies love it…I know mine does! 🙂
I second avocado. But I would also try pancakes and eggs. My little guy loves those!
I want Waverly's wardrobe in my size! Can't wait to see the professional pics 🙂
We started our baby on sweet potato first, baked and mashed. Once she liked this, we could mix it with anything and she would try it. She now eats anything at 11 months so it worked well.
Basic one but thought I'd share a recipe I posted about for sweet potatoes and rice, and cinnamon pears. She loved them both!!
meg-made baby food
Good luck!

LOVE uno! I just got a shirt in a coral print like that for my daughter from ON.
So exciting when they move to big people food!!! We started the girls on waffles, watermelon, toast, quesadillas, and grilled cheese! They love it!!
We've followed baby led weaning with Liam so he's always had whole foods. Some of his favorites are: blueberries (cut in half), avocado (slices or chunks), zucchini (usually grilled), and pita bread dipped in hummus! Have fun introducing new things!
