By the end of the weekend we will have an EIGHT YEAR OLD!! Two years from double digits + halfway to sixteen, I CANNOT BELIEVE IT but at the same time she is such a grown up little lady these days, I can definitely believe it. 🙂 Waverly is so excited to celebrate her birthday, we are going to have a brunch with family followed by an afternoon at the pool + a sleepover with one of her best little friends (the same exact plans as Avalon’s birthday just over a month back, that’s how we roll!). She gets so excited to celebrate everyone’s special day and we are so excited to celebrate hers, eight whole candles on a cake for my first baby girl.
A little bit about an eight year old Waverly Maye, this is so easy to write because she is so very unique and has so many little things that just make her special in her own way. She is energetic, talkative, fearless, + very much a leader who has all the opinions. This is something that can be challenging (and always has been with her) but is also something that I know will take her so very far one day. She is so incredibly passionate about the things she loves and will spend all the time learning more about the things that matter to her, especially Alabama football and fishing to be just like her daddy. 🙂 She is a typical first born child, she constantly looks out for her little sisters + would literally do ANYTHING for them, one of the things I love the most about her.
She’s very organized and lives for a routine, writes lists almost as much as I do, and does not like anything out of place. There is rarely a night she doesn’t set out her clothes for the next day + always packs a bag for any outing we are going on at least two hours before we even attempt to go. She loves swimming, dancing, the color purple + pizza, and was awarded the “pure sunshine” award in her second grade class for the second time in her elementary school years. Eight years with her and a lifetime to go, I can only imagine how far this life will take her.
Some favorite photos from this past year, I will always remember her seventh year as the year she knocked her two front teeth out out, that smile will forever be a favorite of mine.
Happy birthday weekend Waverly Maye, we loveeeeee you! XO
Aaah, I cannot believe the fourth of July has already come + gone! We had the best holiday weekend, even though this year looked a little different we were still able to manage most of our favorite traditions and right now even the simplest of those feel extra special. A small parade, time at our neighborhood pool, a cookout with family + some sparklers, all the wonderful things!!! By the end of the day Remerie was way too exhausted to see any fireworks and it turns out Avalon Elle (who is not scared of anything) suddenly had a fear of loud noises and I had to hide inside with her during all of the fireworks in our neighborhood, but all in all the BEST DAY.
Waverly said her favorite part was late night fireworks with dad (she felt like such a big girl!), Avalon loved ALL the sweets + swimming at the pool, and little Remie Rue was so precious riding in the wagon in her first parade. Love these little American girls so much.
They get it from their mama, both my big girls woke up July 5th asking when the next holiday is, we are sad to wait until October for another big one but have lots of birthdays to celebrate before then so that will get us through. 😉 We hope your holiday was the best! XO
**Last year’s Fourth of July post is here + the year before is here, and 2017 is here. Cannot believe how LITTLE they were!
Waverly + Avalon had their dance recitals last week, always one of the highlights of the year for me! This time around was different (like most things in 2020), but I was happy that they were still able to put on their costumes and perform. They each got to have their own night since each class was separate, and each of the girls referred to herself as “a star” the night of their show. 🙂 Remie Rue was so excited watching them + twirling around to the side, I have no doubt she will want to join them before long and cannot believe we will have THREE tiny dancer girls one day.
We are spending the rest of our summer days at our neighborhood pool + with bike rides + swim team for Waverly each morning, all the good things! Hope your summer is off to the best start as well! XO
PS: Photos from the girls recital from last year can be found here, and the year before is here, the year before that is here! I love looking back so much.
Happy SUMMER, friends!!! We celebrated Fathers Day over the weekend, our favorite girl dad in the world, my own dad, grandfather + father-in-law, we are so lucky to have so many amazing men in our life and definitely do not take it for granted. We usually try to spend the day outside, this was the second year in a row at our neighborhood pool, one of our favorite places to be!
Last year I started a tradition of asking the girls five things they love about Joe, + then when I went back to find it this year to do it again and compare I realized I lost what I wrote 😉 so I thought I would record it here. Five things my big girls love about their daddy, we will plan to ask Remie Rue next year when she is a bit older!
Waverly Maye: Loves that he takes her fishing, loves that he takes her on bike rides, that he is silly with her, plays with her, and is “so kind to her”.
Avalon Elle: Loves that he built her bed, plays puzzles with her, plays catch with her, that he made her a new trampoline, a playhouse, + that he snuggles with her at night.
They are three lucky girls.
Now on to the first week of summer, we have a busy week with swim practices and dance recitals, so glad to be back to some kind of normal living again! We hope you + yours had the best weekend celebrating! XO
