Cabin Fever & Fashion Friday

Here we are, less than one month since I was complaining about our 80 degree Christmas, it’s freezing out & I am officially over it.  Parenting is so much easier when it’s warm out, anyone with me?!  I don’t remember hating the cold this much before the number of kids we had doubled, but good lord.  Getting ready to leave the house takes forever when you have to layer, then you have to somehow figure out how to get the little marshmallows strapped into car seats, run in and out of everywhere, and maybe the worst, there’s no opportunity for a midday walk to give us all a change of scenery and some much-needed fresh air.  All that to say – warm air, we’re ready for you! 🙂  Yet if it’s going to be cold, we would like Avalon’s first snow (and may just get it this weekend!).

On a much more positive note, the girls have been so good lately, we’ve had a few exciting milestones (Avalon is crawling quicker than ever & likes food!  A lot!), and Waverly has just been all around GOOD.  We are thinking the second half of three might just be our sweet spot!  The whole “drop the nap” situation is still a work in progress, but we are getting there.  And their relationship is just cuter than ever lately, Waverly BEGS me to wake Avalon up every morning (um, don’t you know you don’t wake a sleeping baby!), and when Waverly fell asleep on the couch this week, Avalon spent the entire time staring at her waiting for her to wake up.  Sweetest!

Playmat – Rose Blanket – Pink Fur Pillow – Comforter – High Chair
Also, I have to record it, I asked Waverly how school was the other day and she listed off her five best friends, all girls, and when I asked about the boys she said, “mom, boys are grumpy & naughty.”
And let’s just keep that mindset until you are at least 16, ok?!

I’m super excited to share the cutest Etsy shop with you for Fashion Friday today, I collaborated with Little Bird Tuscan on a few of Avalon’s Christmas gifts & they are the cutest.  We got these teethers, which we love, Avalon always has to have something to put in her mouth and these are perfect.  They also sent us the bib, another must-have, for soooo much drool.  We love, love the prints, you must check out their shop!

Wishing you a happy, WARM weekend!
XO

Your girls are just the sweetest! I hear ya on the parenting thing. We have had temps in the negatives lately. Try keeping a 3.5 year old boy entertained without being able to run off some steam. I'm pulling my hair out. haha! Have a great weekend!

Haha boys are grumpy and naughty! I remember asking Noah if a girl he mentioned a lot was his best girl friend. He said no, she is bad, she doesn't listen. I love what these kids observe and pick up!

It's definitely easier to parent in warm weather. I'm always afraid they are going to freeze outside but I want to enjoy this year "snow" we are supposed to get here in NC. I want one snow and then it can get warm again.

So, so ready for warmer weather. I'm the only one that wasn't complaining about a warm Christmas. Hopefully the snow won't be too crazy for y'all and you can get out there and build a snowman.

Lil Avalon is too cute in her new outfits, love the lil shorts.

I can imagine things get a little crazy inside with two littles and cold, cold temps!!! I teach preschool 2x a week and my little two year olds go nuts if we can't go outside…babes need to burn off that energy! Love all the pics of your girls…per usual, the sistas make my heart pitter patter!

She's too cute!! I cannot believe she's crawling! And they are taking baths together? Get out!! Cam cannot wait for this, but he also loves to PLAY in the tub, and I don't think he will want to calm down! 😉 Have a great weekend and have fun in the snow!!!

Oh the girls are just so sweet! Haha it's been freezing here since before Christmas and it's BRUTAL! I've basically spent almost every day inside since Bodhi arrived, I have serious cabin fever but the thought of bundling both kids to get out is daunting! I am always over the cold and snow as soon as Christmas is over… lol

i totally agree on the inconvenience of bundling!! i spent SO LONG getting my two bundled for the snow this morning and 10 min later they were ready for marshmallows and hot chocolate 🙂

speaking of bundling…did you know you aren't even supposed to put kids in the car while wearing their jackets? (there are tons of articles if you google…)
it makes sense once you see photos of how loose the straps have to be to accommodate their jacket but it's so very inconvenient! my rule is that if i'm just around town (therefore driving at a lower speed) i keep their jacket on, but if we get on the highway i take it off. not sure if that's safe, but until i hear otherwise i feel good about it. 😉

Car seats totally suck. Not only is it pretty cold here but its this annoying mist of rain ALL. DAY. LONG so it makes for such long days inside. Luckily we have the gym to break it up.

Oh goodness! Seeing the two of them together just melts my heart. They are the sweetest and cutest together!

And yes, Waverly, boys ARE naughty and grumpy. 😉 Smart little girl you have.

We're in the middle of a horrible tantrum phase with Reed right now and I am dreaming of the day he turns four. You are giving me hope that 3.5 might be okay too…come on May!!!
