Happy July, what an exciting month!! There is obviously so much to love about the next few weeks, starting with the Fourth this weekend & for us, ending with Waverly Maye’s SECOND birthday on the 26th. 🙂 We are planning a party for close friends & family at our house, I’m so excited to share details soon!
We recently kicked off the celebration a little early with some of our favorite blog friends. Elizabeth from Chasin’ Mason set up the cutest birthday exchange for many of the little ones who have summer birthdays. Waverly & I were totally all in, we obviously love anything like this & also, it gave us a good excuse to go shopping. Even better, it turned out that the day Waverly’s gift was delivered to our front door (from little Mason!), she wasn’t in the best of moods & it was the best distraction ever. (I’m pretty sure that at the moment we heard the doorbell ring, she was attempting to climb our dining room chairs to pour out the salt shaker for the tenth time in a row. Tell me your kid does this.)
So the biggest thank you to Mason, really! 🙂 I jumped on the opportunity to attempt to turn the afternoon around, placed that sweet package right in our family room, & asked Waverly if she wanted to open her “present”. She nodded yes like it was her job, kept repeating “present”, & opened everything so carefully which believe me, doesn’t always happen.

Waverly couldn’t have loved her “present” more, Mason picked out the cutest swimsuit, sunglasses, & sandals – all in one of our very favorite colors. He also got her a few bottles of piggy paint, & an extra festive treat for the Fourth! Waverly immediately asked to put every last piece on (she makes me so proud) & while I put it on her, kept holding the piggy paint saying “present, Mommy, present”! She was beyond satisfied. 🙂
Also, since then, every time she sees the bottles of piggy paint, those shoes or sunglasses, she says “present!” I’m thinking she will most likely be referring to nail polish as a “present” until she is ten, she cracks me up. I can’t wait to see her open the rest of her birthday gifts in a few weeks, I wonder how many items will then “presents” then.

Thank you again to Mason & his mama, Elizabeth, we will definitely get lots of use from Waverly’s goodies all summer long! Waverly & I got to send over a birthday gift to little Tyson, you can read more about that here. Laureen, we loved shopping for your little man. 🙂 The rest of the mamas who participated in this exchange are below, this was so much fun & we hope to do it again next year:
Elizabeth from Chasin’ Mason, Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique, Sara from Running from the Law, Laura from Tiny Toes, Little Nose, Laureen from Chateau Deveau, & Natasha from Schue Love.

Hope you are all having a great week!
XO
