It’s double digits for miss Avalon Elle, our dream baby girl who just lights up the world around her. She is sensitive, silly, curious, and just as she has been from the day she was born, FULL of sweetness. We just adore watching her personality shine through and can’t help but melt every time we see those beautiful big blue eyes.
It’s true what they say, second kids grow at warp speed. I thought the months with Waverly went fast, but there is just no comparison for how quickly it’s gone with Avalon. I’m sure it’s because we are busier, that we have doubled the amount of kids, but it’s also because the transition to two has just been way easier than one. There is no doubt that the girls personalities are very different, Avalon is way more laid-back and go with the flow, and it’s been the perfect pairing with Waverly, our wild child. For the most part, Avalon totally lets her take the lead, showing her everything, carrying her, and just being the typical bossy but natural big sister (I would know). We have our moments, but watching their relationship grow & seeing the unique traits in each of them has definitely been one of the most rewarding parts of motherhood for me. It makes me want allllllll the babies. 😉
Avalon is so much fun lately, her favorite trick is waving bye-bye (with her hands to herself), and she also claps her hands. She still says da-da on the regular, and otherwise just loves to yell to hear herself or to copy big sister. She is completely content exploring all over the floor, getting into everything she shouldn’t but being too ridiculously cute for me to care. She can crawl like a boss and just lately has started pulling up on things & walking with a push toy, but really doesn’t seem to have that much interest in standing on her own yet. I’m hoping that means she waits for a little while to walk, I’m in no rush for that milestone and will happily carry her on my hip for as long as she will let me! 🙂
This girl LOVES to eat, which is funny considering we had a hard time getting her to at first. She snacks all the time & just when I think she couldn’t possibly fit anything else into that little body (where does it all go?), I sit down with a plate and she tries to swipe it all. 😉 Her favorites are ritz crackers and yogurt tubes I freeze for her, which seem to help with teething as well. Her third tooth just broke through, so she’s been a litter fussier than usual lately with that & her recent ear infections. Overall though, even sick she is pretty calm and content, which is obviously wonderful but it can make it hard to tell when she isn’t feel well. We are still breastfeeding (YAY!), and it still is so comforting for her, which I love. She sleeps every night from about 7pm – 6am, has a really reliable nap every morning, and sometimes a shorter nap in the afternoons.
I find myself always looking at both girls just amazed that they are ours. I mean, we made them!! Being a mom is just so crazy and so amazing and so tiring and just the absolute best, right? I’m living my dream and I never want to take it for granted.
Happy, HAPPY ten months, Avalon Elle – you make every single day better than the last and I love you more than you will ever know.

Her face is so happy and bright, what a beautiful lil one.
Her big blue eyes melt me too! I love that she’s so easy going. Nate and I always say that our 2nd has to be go-with the flow because Mason was anything but that. He’s our wild child, too! Freezing the yogurt tubes is a genius idea. Precious pictures of your sweet gal.

She is just so cute! Oliver is right there with her on exploring everything and wanting all the things he should not have [cords, electrical outlets…]. It is so fun to watch them as they learn and grow, I feel like this is the age where they do that so fast! And yay for her sleeping through the night! Can she please teach Oliver how to do that?!
She just makes me smile! The way she sleeps is my favorite!
And good all on the frozen yogurt! I should definitely give that a try sometime.

There's no doubt about it, she is a little darling!! Her sweet face is just so precious! I already want ALL the babies and I still have a baby.. sadly I think Beau is our last though.

Oh my! I don't think she can get any cuter! I totally agree with you, time is going by faster than I could ever imagine with my second. Time needs to slows down!
She is so cute! And getting big so fast. It's amazing how fast time can go. You blink and they are oh so close to being a full year old! And I still am just in love with her name!!
