Happy Monday friends, hope you all the best weekend!  We are getting all too excited for summer over here, no doubt it’s one of our favorite seasons & one of the best times to open our home to family and friends.  As you guys know, I am all about a good tablescape, especially a themed one, so I’m super excited to team up with Rubbermaid and share a summer one today!

Whenever I’m creating a look for an event or party, I follow these simple steps!

1 – Find one piece that inspires you.  I usually start with something that I love & work around it, always looking back at that one piece to get inspired before choosing anything else.

2 – Pick a color scheme.  After picking an inspiration piece, it’s pretty easy to narrow down 2-3 colors that I want to stick to.

3 – Add details & make it fun!  My favorite part.  Find little pieces to bring everything together, don’t be afraid to mix prints & even bold pops of color that you didn’t use before,  Make it interesting but also keep it coordinated by looking back at that piece that you started with.

For this table, I started with the black & white plates and then paired it with the pops of bright yellow.  I love how it’s unexpected and different, but still has that fun summer feel!  The pineapple placemat was a fun addition and then finally, I added pops of blue in with the platter, pitcher, and silverware.

This was so easy to do but I love the final result, perfect for a summer BBQ, laid-back dinner party, or even a brunch.

The platter & pitcher that I used are both Rubbermaid and in the lagoon blue color, I love them both for easy entertaining!  The platter is lightweight and is great to keep different types of food separated, along with a dip that nests snuggly into the base.  Each container has a secure lid, as does the pitcher, we used these at home but this makes it easy to bring to other parties as well!  The pitcher has a three-position lid that turns, it’s super easy to lift & pour.  We will be using these all year long!

You can see both products below, I got mine from Kroger but you can get them at any Kroger banner store location.  For more great Rubbermaid content, visit here and click here to save on Rubbermaid products.

Wishing you all the best week ahead!
