If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you know that I definitely do not claim to be a good cook (more the opposite!), but we love food at our house just like everyone else & it certainly is a big part of our daily routine.  Waverly has always been a good eater, something we are very thankful for, but lately is all about snacking, she would much prefer a different snack every thirty minutes or so than any kind of traditional meal, especially one that involves her sitting.  You know, still, in one spot. 😉  As much as I want to fight her on it I’ve decided to pick my battles, at least for now, what is most important to me is that she eats, even if it is only a little bit in between playing with her dolls and chasing the dog around trying to put necklaces on him.
So I am always on the hunt for great snack ideas, we recently discovered Dannon Danimals & they have quickly become a favorite around here!  Waverly loves them because she has a sweet tooth and they are fun for her to drink, I love them because they are sweet enough for her to love but provide “only the good stuff”, with no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors, and provide a great source of calcium and vitamin D.  Even better, they are the perfect snack for on-the-go, something that is definitely needed now that we are a family of four! 🙂
Over the weekend, we spent some of our time inside hiding from all the rain with a princess party that incorporated our new favorite snack, Dannon Danimals!
I used two packs of smoothies, the strawberry & strawberry-kiwi flavors, one pack I wrapped in tulle to make princess skirts and the other I taught Waverly to use as stamps.  For the stamps, we just turned the smoothie upside down and dipped in paint, then placed on the kraft paper.  Or Waverly kind of pounded down, but she kind of got the idea.  After we made a row for a necklace, we drew a face and let Waverly decorate!  It was so much fun, which is something we are all about, and also a great way to get her snacking on something good for her while doing some of her favorite things.

You can find Dannon Danimals at Walmart, they also have a Play 60 contest going on right now!  If you find a “Golden Bongo” bottle (located in specially marked packages), you could win a Play60 field day for your school with NFL pros.  You can find out more here.

Happy snacking & happy Tuesday to you!
XO

Oh my gosh, sitting still to eat?! Ha! That sounds veeeeery similar.
I am constantly on the lookout for *good* snack foods, as real meals are such a stretch for Marcus. I'm certainly going to have to give these a shot!

Such a cute idea to have a princess party! I love that you added the tulle on them and then you used them as stamps to create a princess. Looks like Waverly loved it!

I'm usually not a fan of kids clothes with writing on them but I love Waverly's shirt! Where is it from?
