30 Weeks

We made it, ten weeks left & on to counting down in the single digits! 🙂

Dress
Size of Baby Brickner:  A cabbage.  My book says she is about three pounds & will gain half a pound each week from here on out.  I love that she is getting so big & can’t wait to see her sweet face soon!

Maternity Clothes:  My parents were so sweet to buy me a dress this week for our spring maternity pictures, it’s from Asos & I love it, can’t wait to share it soon!  I am hoping that this will be my last maternity fashion purchase for this pregnancy, though we definitely don’t plan on this being our last baby, I kind of hate spending money on maternity clothes, especially during the third trimester.  My biggest fashion tip (that I feel like I did a whole lot better with this time around), is to buy as a little “maternity” stuff as possible & instead try to get by with things bought in bigger sizes that you love, that still make you feel like you, & that you can wear again later.

Best Moment This Week:  We haven’t officially told Waverly her sister’s name, though I really want to, only because she repeats everything these days.  My husband & I refer to her by name all of the time though (obviously when Waverly is around), I just didn’t think she had caught on since we always call her “baby sister” or “sissy” when talking with her about it.  Then the other day we were playing with sidewalk chalk & I wrote Waverly’s name on the street, & right after she asked me to write her sister’s name (with her actual name), like it was was nothing.  Not only did it confirm that she officially picks up on everything, but it was the sweetest sound coming out of her mouth.  I cannot wait to see these girls together!

On a side note, I know it’s annoying (especially to those around us), that we haven’t shared her name. It has been way harder to keep quiet this time, since with Waverly we were between two names & this time we have been sure for months.  Honestly, I love a good surprise & if I was cool enough to wait to find out the gender I would, so I feel like this is the next best thing.  Also, I know both my husband & I love the name, that it fits our family & what we want for our daughter, and that really is all that matters to us.  Maybe it sounds bad, but we really don’t want to hear advice or thoughts on her name, & know that if we wait until her sweet little self is here, we won’t have to.
Miss Anything:  Feeling really good this week, tired by the end of the day, but good! 🙂

Movement:  ALL the time!

Cravings:  Ice cream & colored sprinkles, maybe because it’s getting warmer out?!

Queasy or Sick:  I had my glucose test this week (& passsed!), so I know others can relate, that drink made me absolutely nauseous.  Yet other than that, no complaints!

Looking Forward To:  Our Easter Egg Hunt this weekend & other holiday celebrations with Waverly Maye! Also, this is the last two weeks of school before my SPRING BREAK, I am super excited to have a week off to spend quality time with my oldest girl & to get some more items checked off our to-do list!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
XO

I totally get your reasons for keeping the name a secret! We did the same with noah. People are less likely to share their opinions on the name after the baby is born. And really, no one other than the kid (When older) should comment about disliking the name 😉

I think it's sweet to keep the name to yourself. And it keeps people from having opinions before lil girl is born. Everyone has a name suggestion and this way they will keep their mouths shut, heehee. I can only imagine how quickly Waverly would accidentally spill the name.

You look fabulous as always, lady!

Awwww love the picture of her kissing your tummy! So so so cute! My heart just melted!!

  4. March 23, 2015 / 12:25 pm

Don't you worry about annoying anybody by keeping her name secret, sweet girl. That is a decision between you and your family, and it will be just as exciting to find out her name once she arrives as it would be if you shared it now. I TOTALLY understand not wanting to share it sooner. We shared Vivi's name after we'd already decided on it, and people (mostly family) still put their two cents in. Even though they knew it wasn't changing. Most people have loved the name, but some of my immediate family didn't. Oh well! It's our baby:)

You are looking adorable and I can't wait to see the dress you got for your maternity pictures. I'm sure it's gorgeous!

I think it's awesome that you can keep the name a secret, and I totally support you! I can't wait to see her face and learn her name in the coming weeks! You look beautiful!

  6. March 23, 2015 / 12:50 pm

I never comment, but I just wanted to say don't feel like you have to justify your reasons for keeping her name to yourselves. Your baby, in your belly, your rules!! Enjoy your last ten weeks and we will all be very surprised when you do reveal her beautiful name.

Thank you SO much – love this advice!!!!!!!!! And thanks for reading! XO

We kept the name a secret this time around too. It was hard, our family wasn't too pleased, but in the end I'm glad we did! I liked having one last surprise.

  8. March 23, 2015 / 2:51 pm

Oh friend, I hear you on keeping the name to yourself! You love it and that's all that matters. You don't need comments or opinions from the peanut gallery. At least that's how I feel! 🙂 We get so much grief for not finding out the gender or sharing names! And by the way, you look AMAZING! Cannot wait to see which dress your parents got you!

  9. March 23, 2015 / 2:58 pm

I totally agree on holding back the name to avoid annoying opinions. I think we will end up doing the same! I'm sure whatever you have picked is very lovely and perfect. Speaking of names, are you going to change the name of the blog to incorporate your new addition?

Thank you – and YES, such a good question. This has been in the back of my mind for months, I know I need to (little sis may be a bit jealous!). Trying to come up with some ideas! 😉

I love your hair!! and yay for holding out on a name, I was always way too impatient haha. Cant wait to finally "meet" her!

  11. March 23, 2015 / 4:35 pm

We didn't share our names either!! So I don't blame you for keeping it under wraps until her grand entrance into this world! Besides I love the element of surprise it brings, especially when you already know the sex of the babe! Looking forward to hearing it in about 10 weeks! 🙂 You're still looking fab!

First again, ADORABLE! As always!! Love seeing that belly grow! Second, I can 100% relate to the whole name thing. We had known Charli's name before we even got married, so everyone in our family and all of our friends already knew, so there was no secret about it but since picking out a boy name was much harder on us we ultimately decided to keep his name secret until he was born, for many reasons you listed. Crew is not a common name but it was the name that Steven and I fell in LOVE with and we knew it was for our son, so we were not interested in hearing anybody's advice or hearing "oh that is a weird name". We figured once he was here everyone would have to like it! haha! So I definitely agree with you! Though I can't WAIT to hear what it is and see her precious face!! xoxo

Cute dress! And the picture of Waverly kissing your belly is adorable!

I don't think it's annoying to keep the name to yourself. I didn't want to tell anyone the name we chose either. We did tell immediate family that we narrowed it down to Olivia or Mila. Suddenly, everyone and their brother was calling our unborn baby Olivia (no idea who told everyone). I think everyone ended up super confused when Olivia turned out to be Mila. When we have another, we aren't telling a soul!

  14. March 23, 2015 / 6:58 pm

So sweet and I can't wait to find out what baby girl's name is! 🙂 And woo-hoo for single digit countdowns! :)))

  15. March 23, 2015 / 8:50 pm

I'm all for saving the name until the baby is born. We did, even through all of the, "but I want to monogram something!!!!" complaints. It was well worth it, and as a bonus we didn't end up with a bunch of stuff we couldn't resell 🙂

  16. March 23, 2015 / 9:40 pm

I just bought my dress for maternity photos too! But they won't happen til I'm 36+ weeks pregnant! And I can't wait for the name reveal, especially since I just love Waverly's name!

  17. March 24, 2015 / 2:49 am

The worst is the unsolicited stories of every person or animal they have ever met or heard of with that name. "My 3rd cousin twice removed has a dog named ___ so you can't use that." or "I used to know a girl with that name in elementary school and she was mean."

I think you are making the wise decision waiting to share the name.

    • March 24, 2015 / 3:04 pm

OMG seriously!!! We have heard those – everyone seems to have an opinion! 😉 Thanks lady!!! XO

  18. March 24, 2015 / 3:57 am

Hey, I'm totally fine with you guys waiting to tell people her name. I'll just have a quick chatsy with the Waves and she can hook me up with the info in the meantime :p

  19. March 24, 2015 / 4:29 am

Girl, don't even worry about keeping her name a secret! I hate to quote Taylor Swift but haters gonna hate. We chose to share Mason's name before he was born (because I am HORRIBLE at keeping secrets) and we had our fair share of opinions as well. But once she is here, everyone will love her so much and her name will fit her perfectly. Can't wait to hear it (and see her!) in 10-ish weeks! Eeekk! You're so close!

  20. March 24, 2015 / 4:46 am

I love the idea of not sharing the name till birth! If only I can get J to be on board with that this time! With Kaitlyn, he sent out a mass email at 12 weeks and announced her gender and name to the world. lol! Waverly is going to be an amazing big sister! She is so loving and thoughtful already!

    xx Viv at JoieDeViv

    • March 24, 2015 / 3:04 pm

Haha, he was too excited! 🙂 And thank you so much, Kaitlyn will be one great big sis one day as well!!

  21. March 24, 2015 / 2:23 pm

I can't believe you're down to just 10 weeks! Already!! Your pregnancy is flying by!
It really is amazing how much our little ladies hear when we don't think they are listening… and they REMEMBER forever and just happen to spill the beans when you didn't know they could spill the secrets- ha ha! Oh the stories I have of Mia lately!
I'm so with you on not sharing baby girl's name! We had to wait to see Mia's little face before absolutely confirming that we would name her Mia. That's just what felt right for us and I'm sure it will be that way with our next babe!

  22. March 24, 2015 / 2:25 pm

    You are just gorgeous!
Amen to keeping the name to yourself! We did that with Marcus, and intend to do the same with M2. Everyone likes to offer their two cents, so it seems, and while I love hearing opinions, I don't necessarily want to hear the opinion of a name I absolutely love. Smart move, momma. 🙂

  23. March 24, 2015 / 3:11 pm

Oh my word the name thing got me- I almost cried! That is absolutely precious! -looking great by the way!

  24. March 24, 2015 / 5:42 pm

Totally agree with what everyone else has said too! Its your family, your business and everyone can just wait and be surprised by whatever gorgeous name you name your gorgeous baby. AND speaking of gorgeous, you!!!! You look incredibly Ashley xx

  25. March 24, 2015 / 6:42 pm

You look amazing! I'm so excited for you guys! I can't wait to hear her name too! And I don't blame you one bit for not sharing that yet. Keep it a surprise!

  26. March 24, 2015 / 7:31 pm

that picture of Waverly kissing your belly is precious! You look so gorgeous!

  27. March 25, 2015 / 3:34 am

Stay strong with your name surprise! It really only matters what y'all want, and that is your call when you reveal the name. Love that she totally has her sister's name down though, all nonchalant like.

  28. March 27, 2015 / 4:10 pm

Okay, so, I totally copied you on this dress. It is just so adorable on you and your pregnant belly! Where are your boots from? Those are super cute too! I feel you on the baby's name and I think it is a fun surprise. I was not into hearing other people's opinions, either. If only we could figure out a boys name… we are having the hardest time. Can't wait to hear what your new little girls' name will be!
