Maternity Clothes: My mom got me lots of comfortable maternity clothes for Christmas, pjs & long-sleeve tees, things I desperately needed after squeezing into my old ones for so long but that I just hadn’t given into buying yet. It has made such a difference!
Best Moment This Week: This was my second week off work & it was so much fun, we had lots of quality time with just us girls which was so very needed! I know these moments with just Waverly & I are numbered so I am cherishing them so much right now. Also, exciting news, baby girl has a NAME! 🙂 We are going to wait to share until she is born, even with our families & friends, which I know is annoying but we want to keep something a surprise & also, want to meet her first to really make sure it fits! We pretty much had already decided both a boy or a girl name before we even found out what we were having, but still went back & forth a little, so it feels so good to make it official & to call her by name!
On a side note, picking a name early was important to me, since we went through Waverly’s entire pregnancy without officially deciding (which stressed my already crazy pregnant self out!). Long story short, we went into labor with two names, one I liked more (Waverly) & one my husband liked more. I really had no idea what was going to happen when she was born, I seriously wondered for months if we wouldn’t be able to agree & would have to bring home a nameless baby girl. 😉 Then I was in labor for 48 hours (yes, two days), & at the VERY end, my sweet husband looked down at me & said, “honey, name her whatever you want”. And that’s how we named Waverly Maye! 🙂
Miss Anything: I have gone from crashing in the bed at night exhausted to some major pregnant lady insomnia. It’s at random hours of the night, I think because I can’t get comfortable or have so much on my mind! So I miss sleep. A lot.
Movement: Yes, lots, more everyday!
Cravings: We had the best New Years Eve dinner followed by the best New Years dinner, one was salmon & the other steak. Delicious!
Queasy or Sick: The cold seems to finally be behind me, for the most part, so feeling good & excited!
Looking Forward To: Organizing & purging! I am always this way at the beginning of a New Year, it’s just multiplied since we are getting ready to add another person to our house! We did LOTS of cleaning out over my break, the nursery is on it’s way to being empty enough to start decorating but we definitely still have lots of work to do. It might be an issue though, getting rid of things really makes me happy, I am the polar opposite of the show “Hoarders” & probably throw things away way too easily.

AHHHHHHHH I want to know her name so bad! 😉 haha! It is annoying but we did it too with Crew! lol! It was fun keeping something a surprise, so I guess I will just wait with everyone else! 😉 You look AMAZING girl! You wear pregnancy very well!!!!! Love those glasses too, always fun for a different look!
You are soooooo cute! That kimono is gorgeous and pairs with the bump perfectly 😉 I can't wait to find out her name! We waited until Mia was born to announce her name as well. We just had to meet her to make sure her name fit, first. Your husband!! So sweet! I love that after seeing you in labor for 2 days (2 days?! Yuck!) he let you do whatever you want! Obviously you earned it 😉 ha ha!
Love the lil story about Waverly's name, that's honestly so cute ;)! Can't wait to find out the name and meet lil baby girl! of course, only ONCE she's done cooking for the correct amount of time ;)!
You look great, lady!
Could you be any cuter!?!?! Seriously! Love it!
I LOVE your kimono! I may have to steal that look if I have another pregnancy! We also picked a name out early but held off sharing. I can't wait to find out but I totally get it!
Yay for a name! I was in labor for 47 hours with Liam (42 au natural) so I'm hoping not to repeat that again! Also, you are adorable in glasses!
So sweet of your husband to let you name your sweet girl after a long labor and delivery. I can't wait to hear what the new little one's name will be. You look fabulous, girl – 2015 is going to be GREAT!
eeek!! Lookin' SO fab!! Glad to see things are going well- minus the random insomnia0 ugh hate that!
48 hrs! Yikes!!! On the bright side, it should at least be half the time this go around! You look amazing!
48 hours definitely deserves the right to be able to pick a name 😉 you look amazing mama!
YAY for picking baby girl's name! And LOVING you in that kimono! So pretty!
Loving your bump, mama! And totally jealous of all the comfy new maternity stuff you were gifted. I have been trying to hold out, but the pj situation is becoming a problem. So, unless I want to start wearing my hubby's stuff – which is always an option, lol! – I will be needing to invest in some maternity pjs soon! Cannot wait to hear Baby Girl Brickner #2's name!!!:)
Looks like everything is going great for you! Maternity Clothes make ALLL the difference now! 🙂 I'm still wearing my normal leggings with long shirts. I finally had to go get some long sleeve maternity tops though as the weather is freezing now and I am running out of non-maternity long-sleeved options!
Can't wait to hear her name! We already have our girl's name picked out too and are also waiting. With Henry we ended up choosing his name once we saw him. I want our little girl to have that opportunity in case one of the other names feels right once we see her little face around June 8th. 🙂
I am a purger, too!! I LOVE getting rid of stuff – it's such a great feeling. And, I am totally with you on the sleep thing. I am constantly waking up around 1/2 am and am wide awake for a couple of hours…UGH! I love that you chose a name….it's so fun to call "her" by her name! I can't wait to find out!! Happy Monday, friend!! xo
You look great!! 🙂
I love maternity clothes, I wish we could wear them all the time 🙂 They are so comfy! Happy New Year! Can't wait to hear the baby's name!
How fun for you to get some nice new clothes that fit you! I'm with you on saving sharing the baby's name for after they are born. We did that with Emerson and will probably do that with this one too. It's just fun to have a little surprise for friends and family after the baby is born too 🙂 I'm on a big organizing/purging kick too! I love getting rid of things and hate clutter and things piling up. I am dying to have a weekend [or a day] where I can go though closets and organize and get a little more ready for when the baby will be here.
Love the back story on how Waverly was named! It's such a pretty name and you totally deserved to get your way! 🙂 Can't wait to hear what you chose for #2! And I don't blame you for keeping it under wraps. I love the element of surprise it brings! Looking fab, as always!
I like the idea of keeping the name a secret. Mostly because the MIL keeps talking about how if it's a girl we'll name it after her, and I'm not sold on that idea… But if she hears the name and sees the baby at the same time, I sure she won't be mad (at least not for as long). And I'm with you on throwing stuff out. Christmas gives me a tad bit of anxiety because we bring so much new stuff in the house, and I feel like it's only balanced if I donate a bunch to Goodwill.
Once again…..having a name early was super important to me too. I wanted to have both names ready at the anatomy scan. It didn't end up *quite* that way, but we picked it officially a few days later 🙂
I'm nesting like whoa too. I'm working on clearing out the random playroom/schoolroom/extra room for the new nursery so that I can finally start putting ME's stuff in there and starting decorating!! I'm super duper excited to get really started on it.
you are too cute!! love your outfit!
Awww love hearing Waverly's name story!!! and love your precious faux glasses too! xx
Loving your outfit. Insomnia just kicked in at 36 weeks not a happy camper.
Oh gosh, hang in there … you are so close!
Those glasses are so fun!! Excited to hear her name (when she arrives)!! I think it's helpful for big sister, preparing, and connecting, as you can refer to the baby by name. We didn't have a name picked much in advance and I felt big brother didn't have anything to 'call' her before she got here and it was more a generic reference, rather than calling the baby by name. Looking back, I think it would've been beneficial, that's all. Plus we would've avoided him calling her and telling people the 'other' name that we didn't pick a few times, oops. 🙂
I've always loved Waverly's name! Such a neat story behind it! There's a couple names I love that hubs doesn't.. wonder if the same could happen for me!
Ah you are so precious pregnant! I'm also pregnant (32 weeks) and I love reading other mommies journey's! I hear ya on the sleep. I go from having amazing sleep to staying up, wide awake until the wee hours of the night. Oh the joys!
