Midweek Randoms

Happy halfway through the week, hope you are having a great one!  It's a Tuesday/Thursday work week for me, which are my favorite, this whole working part-time thing has me all kinds of happy & just a little bit all over the place at the same time.  I'm just waiting for the day I show up to work when I don't really have to be there, or the other way around, I can't decide which would be worse. ;)

So some random thoughts.  One, the sweetest company (you can read their story here) recently sent the girls this handmade elephant & we absolutely adore it!  It is so well-made and beautiful in person, I love the way that it looks in Avalon's room next to our collection of other plush dolls.  We kind of have an obsession with pieces like this, I think that they are a great way to accessorize a room & hope that the girls can pass them down to their own kids one day!  Also a win, Waverly loves to play "school" with them (she is the teacher) and Avalon loves to snuggle them.  The cutest.

Two, post-partum hair loss is no joke.  I didn't get it with Waverly at all (either that or I was too much in a new mom fog to notice it), but this time, it is crazytown!  I have really thick hair & didn't think I would mind losing a little bit, but I am so ready to stop finding hair in the sink and shower.  Mamas, what month were your babies when your hair stopped falling out?!

Three, just a couple pictures brought to you by a few Monday errands with my sister girls.  For the record, they were cute and cozy in their grey sweatshirt dresses and I was still in my pajamas, hair a disaster, because, priorities.

Bows
And lastly, I am doing my (small) part to spread the word on a family who is currently in need.  My heart breaks for this mom, her daughter Abigail was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in April & she is currently in treatment that will last until 2017.  I just can't even imagine what their entire family is going through, please take a look at @sweetabbysauction to give them your support.

Enjoy your day!  XO

  1. I feel like I didn't lose a strand of hair until Rocco was 6 months old and then it fell out in handfuls! I was sure I was going to find bald spots...I think it lasted a few months and then went back to normal. Hope you don't lose too much :)

  2. How sweet Waverly likes to play school. I did that when I was younger and then when I had sisters THEY were the students, hahaha. The two lil girls look so sweet together in the last pictures, I mean come one, toooo cute.

Sending prayers and love to Abigail and her family!!!!

  4. I can't even imagine anything happening to my babies. Chad's niece, Jordan, had leukemia, when she was young, and THANKFULLY is a thriving 22 year old! My prayers go out to that family. I will definitely check them out.

Regarding hair loss....WHY???? I have a TON of hair and it's ALL falling out. On my clothes, the kids' clothes, my couch, my classroom, and I don't even want to talk about the bathroom. It's RIDICULOUS. I am literally chopping all of my hair off on Tuesday because I am so over finding long pieces of hair EVERYWHERE!

And, I love that elephant!! I am starting to collect cute little stuffies for Louise...where are some of your favorites to get dolls and stuff? I am ordering one from Candy Kirby, because I can't resist. Anywhere else have adorable stuff for girls?

One more thing...I once saw a meme about how mom's are all done up and the kids are in their pajamas. I thought NO WAY! We are the total opposite! Cam and Louise always look great, and I am on the 3rd day of wearing the same yoga pants!! Haha #priorities

    Happy Wednesday, friend!!! xoxo

  5. Thank you so much for spreading the word about Sweet Abby's Auction! It really means the world to me!

Also, your girls are precious in those pictures! You can just see how much they love each other. It is the absolute sweetest! I may be picking your brain about the age gap soon :)

  6. Yes to the hair loss!! I'm 7 months in and it's still falling out. It started around 4 months from what I remember. I'm SO over it. Ugh. I also didn't have it with my first! Your part time job sounds great, a little time away, that must be so good!

  7. Oh the hair loss is bad! I too have really thick hair so it's not a big issue, but I hate having hair everywhere!

  10. i've had hair loss with each of my third. i think worse than the hair LOSS is the REGROWTH -- because it all grows back at once and you have weird bangs and fly aways!
this is from when i had it the first time -- http://www.thekriegers.org/2012/11/id-like-to-know-how-beyonce-is-dealing-with-this/

  11. Yep. The girls always look cute. Me? No.

MY HAIR IS EVERYWHERE. And it is super long and dark and it looks like a small animal drowned in my shower. It's awful. I remember this with Abigail, but it seemed like it started later? So not looking forward to when my lydia from beetlejuice bangs decide to grow in......

  12. Haha I work part time and I have showed up for work on a couple of occasions when I wasn't working, it's not the best feeling ever ;)

As for the hair loss... I lost so much hair after Scarlett and I hate to say it but my hair never returned to normal :( I have weird baby hairs all around my hairline that are so fragile and constantly breaking and my hair is SO DRY! I hope you fair out better ;)

  13. The hair loss for me didn't stop until like 9/10 months for me and then it happened again after I stopped nursing at 14/15 months. I felt like everything that grew back fell out and then regrew again and my hair is totally different now too. It's so strange!

  14. I was with a friend today who was just complaining about massive hair loss with her second baby too (who's 5 months old now). I don't remember it being an issue after noah was born, but I find he's now pulling out my hair when he plays with it at bedtime! I'm finding it everywhere!

  16. Okay, so (knock on wood) for me, the postpartum loss has gone on from 3 months to about 6 months with both kiddos. For a while, there was just hair everywhere no matter what I did. I thought for sure I'd go bald at the rate it was coming out. UGH! It's finally starting to slow down, so hopefully it will be the same for you. Its awful!

  17. The hair loss scares me so much! Is there anything to avoid or minimize it?

  18. That little elephant is adorable!
My kids are always dressed so much better than me. They're all cute and accessorized and I'm lucky if my workout pants match my top.

  19. Oh the hair loss! I Didn't have it with Elyse either, but this time around it was awful. I can't remember exactly when it stopped, but now, 10 months post partum I'm dealing with all the new hair growth from where it all fell out! It's making for some fabulous styling moments in the morning as I try to tame all these baby hairs! My mom even asked me the other day if I'd been leaving my flat-iron on my hair for too long!

  20. Seriously--priorities! My children and I look mismatched on a daily basis! ;) And the hair loss--ugh! Mine stopped around 3 months with both kids, and now I've got those awesome, awkward baby bangs now. The things we do for our kiddos! Also, can I just say I want to snuggle up in Avalon's room?! SO cozy!!!

  21. my hairloss started when my first born was three months. the massive hairloss lasted until he was a year old. and continued from there as a strong hairloss until today. my midwife said, a reason might be the loss of iron by loosing blood during birth. or being in general in lack of iron.
finally i am taking extra iron and its starting to make a difference.
