Our Playroom & Other House Projects

It’s been a while since I have updated on what we are currently working on around the house, I thought it would be fun to share some of what we have been doing & what is on the list for the next few months ahead!!  I’ve mentioned before that we bought our house as a foreclosure, we fell in love with the “bones” of it but knew we had a lot of work ahead.  We (mainly my hot handy husband) are constantly working on updates, we have accomplished a lot so far but of course, still have LOTS of work ahead.  It will most likely be complete around the time the girls are in college. šŸ˜‰

Our house is four bedrooms, I remember thinking it was huge when we bought it & wondering how we would ever fill it up.  Fast forward to now, some days I feel like we are already outgrowing it!
Of course we have our master, Waverly’s room (you can see it here), plus an office & a playroom.  With a new baby on the way, we decided to keep the playoom & get rid of the office (or kind of try to combine the two), and to put that room in the former office.  That meant we had to completely redo the playroom, but it made sense since the old playroom (the new nursery) is closer to us & farther from Waverly, hopefully making the chance of the new baby waking Waverly less likely.  Fingers crossed.

So we recently just finished the move to the new playroom, it is so funny how simply moving it to another space made it that much more exciting for Waverly!!  It has always been her favorite room in the house, but she loves it more than ever now, it is almost like her toys have been reinvented because they are in a new place.  Total win!!

Before we found out that baby two was a girl, I was obviously nervous about how feminine this room is & knew we would have to update it.  If we have a boy one day, we will definitely have to change things around, but of course by that point we will most likely have to add another addition to the house as well. šŸ˜‰

It is still a work in progress, I want to add some more fun prints to the walls plus we plan to add a chalkboard wall like we had in the old room.  A list of sources from what we have in there now is below!

Also on the agenda before nursery design can really begin, cleaning out that room that will be the new nursery, it has now just become a really large pile of things we need to find a place for.  And first & foremost, officially transitioning Waverly to her big girl bed, which we still keep putting off but really need to do, especially now since she will be passing down her crib to her little sister!!
So many fun changes, ones that I am beyond excited for & overwhelmed about ALL at the same time!!  I hope to be sharing some of our progress soon! šŸ™‚
XO

What a happy space! I absolutely love it! We have that kitchen in teal. It is Harper's current favorite. Also I'm sure Waverly will do great in a big girl bed. We just made that transition here and it went a lot smoother than I thought it would.

I move around our playroom every few months and it's amazing how it helps with toy boredom even though I'm not hiding or rotating toys. Can't wait to see the nursery!

I love everything about this playroom! I have always loved the tissue garland and puffs! And even though we just bought Sydney a tent, I am dying to get her a teepee! But I suppose I should see how big her next room will be first. Lol

What a fun place to play!! I wish we had space in our home for a dedicated play room, but for now that's what the family room has pretty much turned into. I love the detail on her table and the overall fun look of everything in the room. Great job!!

How fun!!! I LOVE the room! It looks so happy and like such a fun place to be in. I especially love the pom pom garland. It just ties everything together and adds so much to the room.
We transitioned Mason to a toddler bed (just made his crib into a toddler bed for now) and it went surprisingly well (I blogged about it on Monday). Hope your transition goes well too!

Oh my gosh, cutest playroom EVER! I looooov the colors! I can't wait until we are in a home with more than 3 bedrooms (we have a guest room instead of a playroom) so that we can have a playroom!
I am DYING over the table and chairs! I wanted to know where it's from…. I can't believe it's made with fabric from your wedding?! What an amazing treasure to have!!

Looks lovely! We have a 4bedroom as well and with just one toddler, I already feel like we're outgrowing it and no playroom (we use our 4th as a guest bedroom for the ILs and other family). Love the idea of the shelf over the window for more storage!
